There is no lake! It's all dried up. Primitive dirt site. Very dry, windy, and HOT. Avoid in the summer time. The only plus side is it's really cheap... $8 per night to park your RV there.

We camped here on November 10, 2023. We almost had the place to ourselves. There were a few people fishing the edge of the lake and one other RV on the far side. Big sites. Dry camping only. $16. So much nicer than staying at a busy RV park.

Unexpected gem in eastern oregon, BLM land, pit toilets, several hundred yards from highway so noise was distant. We stayed right by the water and saw a beautiful sunset. No trees, landscape is lava rock and sage with reservoir. Campsites were separated by quite a bit of space. Only three other campers besides us during our visit. Minimal space for setting up tents due to lava.

Sites are gravel and mostly level. Most sites have picnic tables.

No dump and not sure about potable water.

Reservoir is a little down on water supply. There is a boat ramp.

Not what I would say a destination.

This is a BLM Campground with picnic tables, restrooms, trash cans, labeled sites, and a boat launch ramp. This is very easy to get to, right off of Highway 20, west of 395. Cost is $8/night ($4/night with National Park Pass).

Sites are level and most are pull-thru. Plenty of room for our truck and 35’ fifth wheel. The lake is pretty and the surrounding area is desert like, with scrub brush covering the ground between the camp sites. It can get windy during the afternoon. It is close to the highway, but we didn't notice any highway noise at all. If you like these kinds of environments (which I do, and the wife does not), then this is a great campground at a great price.

AT&T and Verizon were both strong. Fresh water spigots were available at a few locations in the campground.

We would stay there again.

This was jus an overnighter. Looks like all sites are pull through, so we didn’t even need to unhook.

This would also be a great place to fish. It has a cleaning station and boat dock.

Overall, I am happy. But this place will be hot as hades in the height of summer.

Stayed here on way back to Eugene from Jackson Hole. Easy to find and all the spots appear to be pull through which is perfect for a quick stop. Be prepared for swarms of mosquitos. Otherwise a nice sunset and great star gazing. Quiet and no highway noise.

We wanted to break up our drive and this was a great stopping point. It’s a national recreation site. We didn’t fish but there’s a pretty reservoir here.

We came for the fishing. Not disappointed. It is windy here most of the time. But it is a very convenient place to stay over night on the way to somewhere else. Just off the highway but traffic noise isn't an issue.

Most spots are pull-through, a couple of spots (only) have shade. Pit toilets, good picnic tables, fire pits. Most here were in RVs or 5th wheels; I was the only one in a VW Bus.

A bit of road noise, but the vehicles passing are on a flat, straight highway so it is not at all a problem.

Fishing opportunities!
