We stopped here for a quick overnight on our way to Rochester for a family gathering. Note the site fee includes on-line fees and taxes. It's a nice well kept smaller CG that would make a great place if you're visiting the Finger Lakes. The sites are pretty level and private due to the rather dense underbrush between sites, my only complaint with them is they're all a bit close to the CG road. The bathhouse was very clean and well maintained. Check-in was smooth and the staff very nice. There's lots of opportunities for activities in the area; water sports, Watkins Glen SP, Letchworth SP, vineyards, and breweries to name just a few.

We spent a night at Loft Mountain CG while taking a leaf peeping trip down Skyline Dr./Blueridge Pkwy. The staff were nice and friendly. It's a good backup to Big Meadows CG (which I would rate a bit better) a bit to the north. The bathrooms are very clean and well kept, as you would expect in a NP. Being mid-late Oct the CG wasn't at all crowded, which was welcome as the sites are fairly close together. Most of the site I saw were not very level, I think ours was off by about 8" so expect to sleep on an incline or come prepared for serious leveling. The park itself is well known for it's outstanding scenery and never disappoints.

This campground made for a nice overnight stop between Hatteras and Assateague. The location is very convenient, just a few miles out of Norfolk VA. But proximity to Rt. 60 and nearby airfields contributed to the poor noise rating. Bathhouses were OK, nothing to rave about, a bit dated and some could use an update but nothing too gross. Those farther from the beach appeared to be the cleanest. All the sites were well kept, fairly level, and comfortably spaced apart; we were in site 149 on loop C lots of variety on site choices. The surrounding forest provided good protection from the wind, welcome in early spring but probably a bit close in mid summer. The Staff were all friendly and nice. The Chesapeake Bay beach was a short walk away and there are plenty of trails, although we didn’t take advantage of these due to timing constraints. Biking throughout the park is smooth sailing given the level roads.
Overall this is a very nice State Park.

We overnighted here. Staff were just OK. It's a fairly large sardine can with about 120 slots, all looked to be level and may have been paved at some point. Men's bathroom seemed fairly clean but my wife thought the women's bathroom was quite dirty. Don't count on any internet service; we were able to connect but were constantly getting warnings that we weren't connected to the internet. I tried to run a speed test twice but both failed due to connection problems. Noise sources include planes, trains and automobiles. The place is sandwiched between I-40/a main train line/Rt 66 and the end of an airport runway; good thing there seemed to be little air traffic. All in all I would recommend finding something else.
