Edgewater Park is close to our family, and Tom and Pam are great hosts. The park doesn't have a lot of the amenities people might want but it was easy to find and get settled into. While it is beautiful to see the Ohio River and fun to watch the tugboats pushing barges up and down the river, it isn't so great to have a giant power plant smokestack right across the river. The other thing that might turn people off is the train tracks that run about 20 yards from the back of your camper. If you practice "selective vision" and face your chairs upriver, it can be really beautiful.

We will stay here again since there aren't many other nicely maintained, affordable FHU campgrounds in this part of the country. We like being close to Tomlinson State Park, the Mountaineer Casino, and The Franciscan University since the state park has a public pool, the casino has entertainment and the University is our alma mater.

A mile up the road was a farmer who sold fresh vegetables in August. Yummy corn right out of the field.

We paid a weekly rate of $240. Tom doesn't take credit cards so bring cash or check.

Originally I thought it would cost $25 to stay at this campground but I ended up paying $35 a night and the campground does not give any discounts. While the campground is very conveniently located near Interstate 75, there are a few things that made it less desirable for me as anything other than a quick one night stop.

First, the roads through the campgrouind are narrow with some really tight turns. Second, many of the sites are short and located on a hillside. This meant that even though I had a pull-through site, I needed to unhook my car at the site so I could back up the RV to get it level. Third, my site was pretty narrow and had a very small patio with a fire ring. It was so close to my downhill neighbor that I could look right in their windows if I sat there, so I never used the patio. Fourth, the campground is very small (I walked all the campground roads and it was 1/3 mile) and is located entirely in the woods, so your only views are of other campers.

Now for the positives. First, the owner was very nice. He checked me in right at the campsite so I didn't even have to get out until I was ready to set up. Second, the park is very easy to access from I-75, about a mile from exit 198. I recommend using the directions sent my the owner as exit 201 has a very windy road to get to the park. Third, if you have a dog, there is a really nice large fenced in dog park right by the main road with a covered seating area for the owners. Fourth, I did notice on some of the sites, that newer, larger concrete patios have been poured and new gravel laid down. These seem to be sites for the more permanent residents. There are a few tiny homes in the park with landscaped sites and other motorhomes seem to be settled in for the long term. Fifth, the site had full hookups which was great. I am heading to a state park without sewer, so I used these two days to batch cook a lot of food. Sixth, the cell coverage was okay for both my ATT phone and my Verizon jetpack. Verizon MiFi speeds were 20 Mbps download and 1 Mbps upload. Park does include wifi which I did use to watch a movie and it worked great.

If I stop here again, here are the site numbers I would prefer for my 30 foot RV: sites 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 19, 21, 23, 24, 28, 31, 36 (back-in, longer), 37 (back-in, longer) Unfortunately, many of these nicer sites seem to be occupied by long-term residents.

This was my first overnight stop at a rest area. The place is well lit and clean. There is an attendant on duty in an office near the restrooms and vending machines. However, trucks pulled in and out all night and idled their engines. Not my favorite place to try and sleep. Both ATT iphone and Verizon MIFI had strong signals.

Lancaster Camp Ground is a beautiful, old Methodist summer camp. The staff, fellow campers, and those living in the cottages are all very friendly and kind. Our site was the usual RV park size with a picnic table and campfire ring provided. Site 1 was the ADA site on the end so we had more patio space than most.

Verizon and ATT cell service is unstable and I found it impossible to participate in a work-related Zoom call and had to park outside a local Panera to use their WiFi. This is the only reason we wouldn't likely camp here again.

As campers, you have free access to the small laundry room, unheated swimming pool, Sunday morning church services, and vespers. The camp office allows you to have mail and packages sent to office. Just call to check the address they want you to use.

There are a few "no car" access streets and it's fun to walk around and look at the 1800s-style tiny home cottages. The campground is conveniently located within 2 miles of many shops and restaurants while allowing you to feel as if you are in the country.

Fairfield County has several covered bridges within a 20-minute drive of the park and some nice public parklands for hiking and biking.

The staff at the Nashville I-24 campground were very helpful and friendly. The park is open year-round and is 20 minutes from downtown. The park itself had a few issues that made it less pleasant than I’d like. Park has crowded sites where neighbor’s slides almost touched. The fresh water hookup for my site was under the hose from my neighbor’s sewer hookup. The sites are short for pull-through so I could not keep car hooked up if I was planning to stay one night. WiFi while available won’t stay connected.

I like this RV park because of how close it is to Disney theme parks. I also enjoy hanging out with fellow campers at all the fun activities planned by the staff here in the winter months. (water aerobics, horseshoes, pickleball, cards, outings, dinners, dances, and more. I am a snowbird and stayed this year from November 2019 until April 2020. I love the temperate weather in the Kissimmee - Davenport area of Florida.

The RV sites are very crowded with no real private usable outdoor space around your RV. So, think of your stay as being like a condo or other apartment rather than camping. However, the park is near a cattle ranch, so my site was very quiet.

It is hard to give you a nightly rate since seasonal campers have to pay extra for their electrical use based on meter readings. (with SunRV discount code, I approximate I paid around $20 night for seasonal.) Also, there have been occasional water boil orders this winter due to on-site water treatment problems.

Like many other SunRV resorts, the park is moving away from RV campsites to permanent or seasonal park model rentals. I put a deposit down for next year, as it is difficult to get last-minute long-term campsites in Florida if you don't plan ahead. However, I am not 100% sure I want to stay in one place in Florida in 2021, so I am glad the deposit is refundable up until a set date.

I teach online from my motorhome and use a Verizon MiFi. The signal has been consistently strong 30 Mbps download and 20 Mbps upload speeds. There is a wifi network at the RV park and I have used it once or twice to watch movies. The streaming was good.

New Publix is 2 miles away and lots of restaurants are close by. Homebuilding in the area is booming so I imagine other amenities will be built soon.

The website link above didn't work for me, so I go to https://www.sunrvresorts.com/resorts/south/florida/kissimmee-south/

$25 a night is based on the long-term monthly rate and you will need to pay for your monthly electricity. It will also require a $100 deposit to set up your electrical account. The park is near the international airport and an active train line so you will hear planes and trains often. Mill Creek RV park is located about 20-30 minutes east of the Disney theme parks depending on traffic. The management does not plan any activities but they do provide equipment for some games and there is a nice fitness center and a rec hall. The management allows residents to plan activities so there may be things to do in the winter when the snowbirds come down. The pool is well maintained and nice to swim in but is not always heated to the 84 degrees that they say. The laundry room on the north side of the park is the nicest of the two spaces available. The washers and dryers use a smartphone app.

I prefer other RV parks in the area, but if they did not have sites available, I would stay here again.

This is a great park if all you need is a home base for other excursions. It’s obvious the park was well designed but ongoing maintenance has not been kept up. Bathrooms were clean-ish but no water pressure in showers and constantly empty paper towel dispenser. Low branches in the park and dump station tore up my antenna. Given all that it is one of the closest to my family. If you like a sort of scout camp feeling this is your place. Sites are dirt. Staff was friendly. Movie nights and a food truck on weekends. Pool and other things in park cost extra!!!

I stayed the end of September Monday to Friday. Sites about half full. Weekend fully booked. Like others said the sites are very close together and some are just roadside pullovers. I will eventually write a blog post with my list of sites I can use next time. The county manages the park and there is no entrance fee to use the beach or disc golf. Conveniently located 20 minutes from Interstate 75. Lots to do within 45 minutes drive. Lookout Mtn, Ruby Falls, Fall Frost Falls State Park and more.

Mahlon Dickerson Reservation is a Morris County Park. The county has set up 18 RV sites in the park with electric and water hookups. The clean bathrooms and showers help to save water so you don't have to dump your tanks until you are ready to leave. While there are no other amenities at the park, the location makes it a great place to stay. Within an hour's drive of the park, you have mountain hiking trails, historic locations like Morristown and lakes for water sports. Since I have family roots in the area, I also had access to historic archives and libraries. A few of the sites are sloped, so bring leveling blocks. The county reservation app is a great tool and I suggest referring to their site descriptions for the length and width of each site as they vary greatly.
