I’m going to give the benefit of the doubt and note that we stayed at the beginning of the season after a lot of rainfall and flooding in the surrounding area. This campground is an older campground and could do with some upgrades and some maintenance (but again that could be due to the recent bad weather and being here so very early in the season). Apparently a local K9 sherif unit lives here on site, which is nice because you can’t find a campground any safer than that! Lol it has lots of old growth trees so plenty of shade. A nice but basic playground for the kids. The pet walking area is ok. Nothing special about it the pet walking area just some grass but at least it’s not a super muddy spot and it is a large walking area compared to other places I have been lol. It does have a cute little store inside the campground.

However, for the price, I’m not sure I would stay again. It seems like KOA campgrounds are usually much more expensive that regular campgrounds and this one averaged about $12 more per night than other campgrounds we have stayed at on our trip so far... with far less amenities etc than some of the others we have stayed at as well.

This is now number one on our list of favorite campgrounds that we have stayed at so far. It is especially nice if you have kids because there are tons of things to do at this campground! It’s fabulous! The camping sites are by far the largest sites I have ever had the pleasure to camp in as of yet. It is well kept and super nice! I just can’t express how much I love this campground! It’s what all campgrounds should be like! If I could give it a 10 star review I would ... 5 stars just doesn’t seem like enough! Love it! :)

The campground itself is actually very nice. I have to lower the rating tho because when we tested the electric hook up (like we always do before setting up) it had an open ground and the person working the front desk argued about it with us saying there was nothing wrong with the power because someone just used it. Well if you are familiar with electrical systems: an open ground has potential to fry your whole RV system if there is a surge in the city power side, and none of your GFI in the RV will work. So yeah not good! For a huge campground that was basically empty they didn’t even offer to let us move to another spot but we just ran our line to the site next to us and used it instead and told the front desk we refused to plug in to an open ground system. If there wasn’t such a major issue with the electric and the response from the unfriendly front desk person arguing with us then I would have given this campground a much higher star review :(

This is a campground we would not hesitate to come back to! Very lovely! Nice wide roadways, nice gravel campsites, well kept lawn, some beautiful big trees, spacious sites and plenty of walking areas for the dog. This location is what I wish all campsites would look like :) a family run, well kept, spacious stop. I feel like I have stepped back into a time when families travelled and camped together into an idyllic stop conveniently located off the highway. I true hidden gem! Love it!

This campground has the potential to be a fabulous campground ...with some work. It’s actually in a very nice location...however the roadway and campsites do not have gravel laid down and the ground is very soft. I would shudder to stay here during a rain because I could see definite signs of ruts in the roadway as well as many of the actual camp sites. When we put our jacks down they sunk into the very soft earth a couple of inches (we are in a big rig diesel pusher). If you stay in a small camper (year drop size) with no chance of rain in the forecast it would probably be ok, but you would totally need a 4 week drive “muddin” truck to get out if it rains even the tinniest bit. I was a bit nervous it might rain and we would be stuck!

There is a nice convenience store nearby. Plenty of space to walk the dog (but prepare for muddy paws! Even if it hasn’t rained the dew on the grass plus the dirt sites equals very muddy paws!) also prepare for some very dirty shoes lol

If they compacted and brought in some good gravel or did some pavement this would be an excellent campground. Hopefully we just caught them at the beginning of the season and improvements are on the way... but you could always call ahead and ask about campsite conditions to be sure.

I’m not normally a fan of KOA facilities because of the price and how they tend to stack everyone on top of each other like sardines compared to other places we’ve stayed, but this one was actually quite spacious for a KOA. Honestly I’m giving it a 5 star because it has a nice dog park on site which is super important to us. Also the workers were super helpful in guiding us into the spot I didn’t think we would easily fit in. This campground has nicely maintained grounds and landscaping. If it were not for the dog park I would probably give it a 4 star rating. I’d come back but only after looking for other options first. We tend to prefer older (aka quiet with lots of room to roam) retro style campgrounds or state/federal parks. But it’s ok for driving thru and needing a place to stay for the night.

Super nice retro style campground and had no problem with the owners. They were pleasant and very nice to us. Sites are large and lots of shade so big rig friendly. The pool was drained but they do have a mini golf course and plenty of other things to do in the club house if that’s what you are looking for. This is a small older campground and nice and quaint and quiet and run by an older couple. A good place to stop for the night. Plenty of room to walk the dogs and not sure what happened with the other reviewer but saw a kid playing and riding her bike and didn’t seem like there was any issues. Everyone was outside enjoying their day under the beautiful shade trees. So glad we picked this one and will keep it on our list of campgrounds we will return to while traveling cross country on the next trip.

This is a wonderful nice small (30 slots) campground with plenty of space between campers, a nice playground, and a newly redone pool. I would return again. We only stayed for one night. It is perfect for most campers but the high energy usage of our two AC units on a hot day and all our gadgets (gotta have my instant pot people! Lol) kept tripping the breaker at the main box, so unfortunately I had to deduct one star for that. Otherwise it would be 5 stars and a definite campground I’d still put on my list of places to return to for driving thru for cross country travel needs. Located near to two truck stops so refueling was easy too, and far enough off the highway that there was no traffic noise. Lots of trees surrounded by cornfields. Plenty of room to walk the dogs too :) nice quiet and tranquil place to call Home for the night.

There is a really nice walking trail along the river, so great location if you have dogs who like to walk. Otherwise not much inside the campground for pets and just plain regular amenities (laundry, bathouse) but the camping spots are super nice level concrete pads with large enough space for big rigs to maneuver with ease. We only stayed one night tho. A bit pricey compared to other places we have stayed but probably due to location near the big city and apparently has WiFi capable of streaming if that’s your thing. All in all I’d stay again.
