Being on Hwy 2 this rest area is relatively quiet compared to the Interstate rest areas. There's some traffic at night but it's intermittent, not constant. It seems relatively safe except for being remote and not heavily used.

During the night I stayed several years ago I was woken up by state patrol and told to move to a space on the side of the lot. Turns out they needed to use the parking area for a helicopter evacuation. This must have been common because since that time the state constructed a separate helicopter pad adjacent to the parking lot.

Pine Grove campground within Fitzroy Provincial Park is a large, sprawling campground in the woods. On the night we stayed in early July, the campground was almost at capacity. There were a mix of tent campers, "adventure trailers", small travel trailers, and a few class B/C RVs. This park isn't ideal for large motorhomes.

Although it's next to a feeder creek to the Ottawa River, very few sites have a water view. But camping in the lush green woods was comfortable and quiet. Sites are spread out nicely and don't feel cramped.

The site layout was not ideal; The gravel parking pad was not level and was a good distance from the electric hookup. The electric pedestals are shared between several sites. For these reasons we parked our trailer in the dirt tent pad part of our site, which was both level and close to the electric.

I stayed here on a Friday night before a weekend event in the Elma. I pulled into the "truck and RV" parking area. At the time there were only 3 semis and 2 RVs parked for the night. Lighting was good. The bathrooms were acceptably maintained. There's lots of grassy areas and picnic tables around both sides of the parking lot. For a highway rest area, this one is quiet and peaceful. Traffic on Hwy 8 was light and the noise wasn't bothersome during the night.

I believe there is an 8 hour stay limit. If you're looking for a free place to stay the night, this place is worthwhile.

This Cracker Barrel is within the outskirts of Tulsa surrounded by hotels and restaurants. There was a fair amount of noise at night from I-44 and cars driving through the parking lot and the surface streets. But it didn't bother us because we had our fans/AC on.

We deployed our slide without issue. The lot is 1-2 degrees off level but we didn't bother to use blocks.

And of course breakfast was good.

We stayed 2 nights in July. We enjoyed being in the heart of downtown Duluth. The DECC parking lot is within a short walk to the tourist attractions including abundant restaurants, shops, parks, trails, museums and the working waterfront. Arrival and parking went smoothly. Sites are relatively level. The RV pedastal at our spot was in good condition and had 50/30/20 amp service. The lot attendants were friendly. We were the only RV on site for most of our stay.

Unfortunately several things about the experience were disappointing. My review may have been be more positive if the cost was less, or free. But, know what to expect:

Spots were not clearly marked. There was some confusion and misdirection about where to park from the lot attendant. It was not obvious where we were supposed to position our trailer. A day in to our stay we were told to move our vehicle out of a neighboring spot even though we were on only RV at the site. Not the best customer service for a paid site.

Do not leave anything in site outside of your RV and do not leave anything unlocked. Duluth has a high rate of property crime. This parking lot is physically open to anyone walking around downtown and there's a public walking trail within a few feet of the RV parking area. Most people were very friendly of course, but during our stay we observed several individuals on foot scoping out our site. There doesn't appear to be any security staff patrolling the DECC property. Again, this wouldn't be unusual or unexpected while staying at a free site like a Walmart, but it was unfortunate for a $65/night site.

I've stayed here on three different occasions. First, let me say that I'm not sure that overnight camping is allowed here throughout the year. Depending on when I've stayed, I've seen signs that say "no overnight parking" and at another time "RV Parking". In each case, I've never been bothered or asked to leave by anyone during my stay. I would limit your stay to one night. And don't count on getting a spot during any of Leavenworth's festivals like October-fest or the Christmas tree lighting weekend.

This lot is adjacent to the WA State DOT garage in downtown Leavenworth. The location is great for those enjoying the Leavenworth area, or for those passing through the area on the way to somewhere else. There are dozens of restaurants, cafes and bars within walking distance.

It's a standard gravel parking lot. No facilities, no privacy, and somewhat loud because of it's proximity to US Hwy 2.

If you're into "ski camping" this spot is perfect. 49 North is a local ski hill with quaint appeal and decent terrain, if not world class amenities. 49 never feels as crowded as other local hills. Yet the skiing is just as good. The staff are friendly.

There are two parking locations available for RVs. First, there are six electric pedestals (20 and 30 amp) on the corner of the main ski area parking lot. These spots are very close to the lodge and slopes and an my opinion the best sites if you can get one. Second, there area many more non-hookup sites available in the overflow parking lot. The overflow lot is closer to the cross country ski area, which is a plus. Cost is $23 for an electric hookup and $10 for a non-hookup spot (It seems to go up to $27 and $13 on holidays). Payment is made at the ticket window during business hours. The best time to arrive is in the afternoon as the lifts are closing. This is because the RV lots are shared with day-use parking. So you best chance of finding a choice spot is as people are leaving the resort.

Positives:
Slope side camping
Reasonable rates

Negatives:
Snow clearing operations happen at night and can be loud.
Parking lots can get busy, but hey it's a ski resort.

We stayed for one night while passing through the area. The nightly fee of $35 sounds steep but actually isn't too bad for reserved slope-side accommodations. The sites are a few hundred steps from the slopes and lifts. There are several decent restaurants about a mile to the north.

The RV parking lot is located at the Summit Central area, south of the main parking lot. All sites have to be pre-reserved and pre-paid online. Arrival was easy because there's no on-site sign-in and no paperwork to fill out. You just show up and back in to your designated site. There's ample room for rigs of any size. Sites are gravel and aren't 100% level. We needed about 2 inches under the drivers side wheels to get relatively level.

Despite the proximity to both I-90, SR906 and the ski resorts, our stay was very quiet because the snow banks provided some sound deadening effect.

We arrived at around 8 pm and found plenty of room to park. There were 5-10 other RVs in the lot on the night that we stayed. Although the store was not terribly busy, the parking lot was active with cars and trucks racing through to find parking. The lot quieted down when the store closed at 11pm. Sault Ste Marie is fairly run down and there may be a high amount of property crime. However, the Walmart lot was well monitored, even at night, and we felt safe. It's best not to leave any valuables visible.

The store itself was nice and friendly as we loaded up on groceries in the morning.

7/21/22 Update: the lot is now open in the summertime and the price has gone up to $70/night.

If you're a skier and you have an RV, the Steven's Pass Ski resort RV parking lot is a great destination. The RV lot (aka Lot F) sits above the lower lots and adjacent to the Pacific Crest Lodge. You can walk or ski right to the ski lift. There's also easy access to back-country hiking/skiing/snowshoeing across the highway, using the pedestrian bridge.

At $40/night for an electric hook-up spot, the cost is more than one would pay for typical RV parks. But the proximity to the ski resort makes up for it.

The sites are back-in only. Signage indicates that longer RV's should park on the mountain side, and shorter RV's on the highway side. I arrived during a major snow storm, which was interesting. The lot is not always plowed and there is a short hill getting up to it. So bring chains if you don't have four wheel drive.

There is not a pay-box in the RV lot. You pay for your spot at Guest Services in the main lodge. Guest Services also sells the lift tickets, which can be convenient. The Guest Services desk seems to have limited hours (8-4?).

The RV parking lot is about 100 yards from Highway 2. There may be some highway noise under some conditions. When I was there the snow dampened the noise and it was very quiet. Although the lot was almost full when I was there, other campers were generally pretty quiet.
