This place looks even more amazing than the beach in The Beach. Is it the same one?
Second to none, my favorite spot on the river, north AND south of the river. Nice relaxed atmosphere, delicious ribs on Thursday nights, the opposite of pretentious, and just a fun place to go enjoy nice weather with a group of friends.
Washington Park is an awesome community centerpiece! In a city historically divided, it's brings together people from all walks of life in a beautiful place full of activities, nature, kids, and when the weather's nice, lots of outdoor activities. Definitely a place to visit and spend time.
Not really that cool in terms of stopping to visit this thing, kind of cool to drive by and point out to someone who has simply never seen it though.
Much nicer inside than you would think, it's a good spot for a low-key pizza and beer that won't cost you a fortune or to put something in your stomach after a few drinks.
Not a fan, don't honestly know how they're still in business. I do hear they have a really nice rooftop deck though, and it's a good, uncrowded spot to grab a drink while you're waiting for a table anywhere else in the neighborhood.
The pops are on the sweet side for my taste but they have really interesting, unique flavors which is great!
The only reason you should go here is for dollar oyster night and martinis. There are a couple of tasty things on the menu, including the french fries and the clam chowder. I got really excited when I saw "whole grilled fish" on the menu but big mistake, even though they filleted it for us, the whole thing was still full of bones as well as majorly overcooked. I think they have a lot of potential but agree with other comments - their understanding of seafood has a lot of room for improvement.
Tuckers is one of my favorite local spots, one of the few places that brings together people from all walks of life. You can get as greasy and fatty (double breakfast burger with a fried eggs and fries) or as healthy (kale, blueberry and sunflower seed superfood salad) as you like and this place has some really awesome history. If you're lucky enough to sit at the bar on a slow afternoon, ask the owners to tell you about it.
Not a big fan of this place, I just don't get it. The furniture seems like outdoor patio furniture and the food just isn't that special or even good. The chicken for the chicken and waffles is dry, so are the omelettes and the grilled cheese is just bland.
