Nevado de Toluca is a great day trip from Mexico City if you're in the mood to get your heart pumping. The altitude makes what would otherwise be a leisurely walk into a pretty solid hike. It's really beautiful up there, be sure to bring some extra layers though as it can definitely get hilly. Don't forget to stop for quesadillas on your way up, you won't want to miss them!
Would say not good and not bad, it's pretty typical American bar food - burgers and the likes. It's good bar food, definitely on the heavy side and when the weather is nice they have a cool patio outside. They also serve brunch which again, I'd say not good and not bad. Good for cold weather as the menu items are all pretty heavy. Would prefer to go here for a drink out on the deck on a nice night more than to eat.
Haven't been to the actual place in Findlay, only takeout but it's DELICIOUS! My first bite was even better than Eli's...the brisket is fantastic, especially if you get some of the crunchy bits. Pulled pork is delicious as well and the mac & cheese is great, not too sticky like other places. The medium bbq sauce is delicious too, just a tiny, tiny kick of spice. The only thing I didn't love was the coleslaw, which is very good but the dressing is a bit sweet in my opinion.
A great little lunch or dinner spot in Roma. The French Dip sandwich is one of the most delicious things on the menu, but they have good tostadas de atĂșn and good salads as well. Would be a good evening date spot as well. Hip crowd, don't be intimidated.
They have good beers and a nice patio, wasn't impressed with the food though. If the weather's nice it's a great bike ride distance from downtown / OTR.
Used to hang out here all the time in college, was the perfect coffee / lunch spot to spend all day studying without getting bogged down by the solitude of the library. I've heard it's changed ownership - they used to be owned by a Colombian woman and they had amazing sandwiches and arepas. All around friendly service, cool people, and really fun BYOB nights where they'd move all the tables to make room for salsa dancing. There's a little sofa area in the back if it's full up front.
Not one of the prettiest beaches in Mexico, but if it's convenient to your location then hell, it's still a beach! Small waves for people who are just starting to get into surfing. It's definitely not fancy, pretty rustic in fact, but would be a really great quiet escape that won't break the bank.
Good spot. A little nicer and higher price point than most of the other bars on this side of OTR which is kind of nice as it's a bit quieter and less jam-packed. Great selection of unique beers from all over the place, but they also have a full bar. Solid little corner bar.
M doesn't get as much press as the newer restaurants downtown and in OTR, but it's probably only because it's located in Hyde Park, away from all the hype. That being said, the food is fantastic. The servers can be a little bit over-zealous at times, but the ingredients are fresh and the food is delicious. The pizzas are interesting (sausage and apple is my favorite), the farro salad is really good and the chicken and garbanzo entree sounds a bit weird but is also really good. Definitely recommend this place.
In my opinion the best place to grab a really healthy lunch in the area. Pretty delicious, not too expensive ($7 a sandwich). It's also a little grocery / shop - they sell mostly very pretty, kind of pricey accessory type stuff.
