I spent three quiet nights here and it was great for what I needed. The drive in is a well maintained dirt road with just a few small pot holes. The campground loop is pretty much split between sites you have to reserve in advance and first come-first served sites. I got here on a Thursday and most of the first come-first served sites were open and probably half of the reservable sites were open. The site I picked required no leveling and was one of the smaller sites, I'm only 23 ft and would park in this site with something bigger than 28 ft. There is a nice 9.5 mile trail that passes by the campground loop or you can walk down the road .2 miles and start at the trailhead. Other than hiking/horseback riding there's not much to do here. But if you need a quiet setting to relax or get work done this is a nice place to be. The vault toilets were clean and well maintained. There is a 14 day stay limit. My Verizon jetpack got 31.31 download/12.2 upload speeds.

The view of Superstition Mountain is amazing! The park is very well maintained with nice bathrooms/showers. We were at site 135 (dry campsite) and it looked like one of the bigger sites and was close to the bathrooms but not close enough to be bothered by people going there. It was close right across the street from Siphon Draw Trailhead and the site was paved and close to level. It had a picnic table and fire ring/grill. I must mention when we walked the campground other sites were a little crammed together.

Nice campground with great beach access, especially if you get a site along the east side of the loops. Large mostly level paved sites, no hook ups, dump station with potable water (note: potable water hose does not have threaded male end). Bathrooms with flush toilets were well maintained, cold water showers (brrr!). Nice bike path to take into town. Just be prepared for the wind, bugs weren't bad for us but apparently they can be bad in the summer.

We really enjoyed our stay at site 60, it was right on the water with a beautiful view of the lake. We arrived and 20 min later were kayaking. This site was gravel and mostly level with water and elec hookups, nice size and plenty of space between sites in our loop. The nearest bathhouse was a bit of a walk but it was well maintained and heated. We would definitely stay here again!

We booked two nights in advance on Reserve America and then extended one more night through the Campground office. FYI, you don't have to reserve a site ahead of time. If you think there will be sites open you can just show up and find a site you like then pay at the office. When paying through the office we did not have to pay the $6.50 "reservation" fee. If the office is closed when you arrive they post a list of available sites on the info board by the front door to the office.

The campground is small, only one loop. Easy access, the loop road and the sites are gravel. Some sites look more level than others, we were on site 1 and we had to level up in the back. Nice spacious sites with picnic tables and fire rings. The bathhouse was pretty nice, and clean. The shower water wasn't the hottest but adequate for a comfortable shower.

Location is nice with a short walk to the overlook of the Pine Creek Gorge (PA Grand Canyon) and two decent hikes. Normally you can access the Pine Creek Trail from the Turkey Path Trail but the lower portion of the trail was closed when we were there. For bike access you will have to drive to one of the various trailhead parking areas nearby. No firewood for sale in the campground but just there are many houses on the roads leading to the campground that sell firewood in small bundles for $3-$5.

Pretty quiet w/ occasional road noise, showers are clean with lots of hot water, pit toilets are clean and do not smell. Sites vary in size, most are not level but ours was. Potable water, dumpster and firewood available. No dump station. There are numerous hiking trails accessible from the campground. Close to Freeport and Portland for day trips. Nightly price I listed is with tax included.

Our site was mostly level, paved w/ a nice picnic table and fire ring. We had a back in site but looks to be quite a few pull thru sites on this loop. Restrooms were clean but need a renovating soon. They have potable water available throughout the loops but they don't have threaded connections so only good to fill water jugs or bags. They have a small camp store but everything is a little pricey, to be expected. They have firewood for sale and the dump station is pretty nice w/ three lanes to access the two dumps.

No cell signal on T-Mobile so if you have Starlink look for a site w/ open sky.

We enjoyed two quiet nights here. The park is an oasis of nature just inside of the DC beltway, nice trails and a good staging area to go see our nations capital. Beware of some low branches on the main drive of the park headed to the campground. Our rig is 10'9" and we almost hit some small branches. Nothing that would cause too much damage but may leave some scratches. We were on B loop and the bath house was pretty clean with nice hot showers, dumpster for trash and a couple potable water stations (one was not working).

The sites have picnic tables and fire rings and are paved. I would say none of the sites are completely level but here's a list of sites that are "closer" to level than the others...sites 44, 46, 48, 50, & 78, I will add pictures of these sites to my review. We also walked around D loop, we noticed most of those sites were not level either, some not even close. It would have been nice if they tried to improve the levelness of the sites when they repaved in 2020. To me this is the biggest problem with this campground.

We were only going to stay one night but decided to stay two because we got a site right on the lake. If we had our kayaks we could have launched right from our site. We arrived on a Wednesday and we did not have reservations, but it wasn't busy at all. The road in is paved and in pretty good shape but the roads around the camping loops are bumpy in spots but nothing horrible. Loop A was completely empty but from what we saw most sites were not level at all. We found a really nice spot in loop B, site 33 but we still had to level a bit in the front, and we only have a 23 ft B+ van. The bathhouse was nice and clean, heated with warm water shower! There is a boat ramp, picnic area and swimming section in the Day Use area. There is a trail around the lake we hiked a little bit with our dog, then rode our bikes. On the way out we stopped at the dump station and was surprised it was pretty nice with a hose for potable water. The campground managers were very friendly and welcoming. This campground does need some TLC, but I can see these folks are working hard to make it better. Normal rate is $24/night but we paid $12 with the American The Beautiful pass discount.

Very nice park with mostly shaded sites. We are in site "A" by the showers and it's a nice level raised gravel site by the Raccoon River. Most sites have a nice separation from the next, the roads are gravel but well maintained. There are hiking/nature trails, disc golf, playground for the kids, picnic tables and huge fire rings. We are in a 34 ft class A and had no problem getting in here and our site would easily accomodate a 40 ft rig, but not all sites are this big. Bathrooms are ok but the showers are a little worn with a pull chain shower head. We didn't actually use the showers so I don't know how the hot water is here. One bar Verizon service but I have to say the free wifi here is very good (for a campground), I have 5.38mbps download and 3.50mbps upload speeds. It's so peaceful here my biggest complaint is the birds are so loud (just kidding). The only hookup available is electric but they have a dump station and water available to fill. Overall this campground is very nice and a great value at $15 for an electric only site.
