Lots of trails for hiking if that is your thing but also a neat river for fishing or relaxing. Lot of shady camping sites with electric hookups. Try it out, bet you will like it

Park is about 5 miles North of Stuart and easy to get to. It is a first come first serve campground but the locals tend to put a tag on a site a few days before they bring their camper so be aware of this. When you pull into park there will be a sign pointing to the right saying “Camping”. If you go to the right know it is a very steep hill So be careful. It would be better to stay straight which is a narrow road but cleared well. It will lead you to the “upper” campground. The steep road takes you to the lower campground which is a lot of group camping. You can access the lower campground from upper. The upper has a large turn around, water spigot, access to dump and shower house if needed.
We stayed in upper campground site A which is huge and only one camper across the street. That one also had 50amp and water near. Very quiet.

Stayed for a night while driving through Iowa. Convenient to I-80 and had electrical hook up. Stayed during the week so it wasn't to crowded.

Very nice park with mostly shaded sites. We are in site "A" by the showers and it's a nice level raised gravel site by the Raccoon River. Most sites have a nice separation from the next, the roads are gravel but well maintained. There are hiking/nature trails, disc golf, playground for the kids, picnic tables and huge fire rings. We are in a 34 ft class A and had no problem getting in here and our site would easily accomodate a 40 ft rig, but not all sites are this big. Bathrooms are ok but the showers are a little worn with a pull chain shower head. We didn't actually use the showers so I don't know how the hot water is here. One bar Verizon service but I have to say the free wifi here is very good (for a campground), I have 5.38mbps download and 3.50mbps upload speeds. It's so peaceful here my biggest complaint is the birds are so loud (just kidding). The only hookup available is electric but they have a dump station and water available to fill. Overall this campground is very nice and a great value at $15 for an electric only site.

Well kept. No water at site because of winter season. However, water is available. Very pleasant stay. Talked to caretaker Tyler a few times, kind person. Saw deer, and geese. Some hiking trails.

Loved this place- wanted to stay there longer- but had to leave because still had 1000+ to drive. Tyler was awesome- he takes good care of the place and of the campers.
Had an awesome good night sleep… it’s very peacefully, clean, and well kept.
That have a brand new showers and baths place.
For T-Mobile reception we had to limb up to hill.

Off the beaten path and peaceful. $15/night w/electric; $10/night dry. You self-register. There are grass sites and gravel sites. If you use the podium, pay $15. At the site I stayed at, the podium was kinda far. My main cord plus 30amp extension just reached. Choose wisely’ i arrived just as it got dark, so I couldn’t really gauge the distance.

New shower facilities! The rate for 50/30 watt hookup is now up to $20.00. There are water spigots around the park. This is an older park, which means plenty of shade. The river runs along one side of the park, and there are hiking trails. I haven’t hiked them, though. We didn’t notice any rowdy crowds.
