We chose this site for its proximity to the sand and the playground for our 3 year old grandson. We could just turn our chairs around and let him run and play till his little hearts content. It was a little ways from the bath house but we have full facilities in our camper so it wasn't a big issue. The campground volunteer hosted a movie night at the nearby pavilion which was nice. We also brought our projector and screen and had our own movie nights each night. We really enjoyed our stay.

Getting to the site is down and around a curvy road but once you get there it is nice. This was an interior site with direct access to the playground and only a few steps further to the bathhouse. This particular bathhouse was not heated but one not far away was and the daytime highs were in the mid 60's so it wasn't bad at all. The site does not have a stationary grill like most in the campground do. The fire pit in relation to the stationary picnic table was a little strange but still the site was fine for just us 2 and our 18ft Wildwood. We are on a small side access rd with only 4 campsites. Due to it being Thanksgiving week and this being only 1 of 2 COE campgrounds open past October the campground was full almost to capacity, but it was still very peaceful. Since we live a mear 25 minutes from this campground we frequent here at least a couple times a year. Great Sprint cell reception...with LTE full bars most of the time. We have booked for New Years at this campground but on a different site.

This is yet another great COE park. We only spent one night- our cost included our Golden Access and the on-line Recreation.gov was very user friendly. 90+ sites, all waterfront. Clean heated restrooms. Good wifi. Drawbacks for us were no easy access to walking trails for Miss Molly and I- we do love a trail! And it's Spring Break, so gangs of happy, busy, active kids running around- fun to watch, but not as peaceful as we old folks like. Great family park, with playgrounds, biking, swimming, boating, fishing. Pretty in Spring, warm, green and budding... as we head home to winter's end in Maine!

We love COE parks and this is our favorite so far. There are 2 main loops and we will stay in this same loop if possible when we return, though there are some great sites in the other loop as well. Most sites have terrific water views and lots of privacy. We were there the same weekend as the Clemson spring football game so we had to switch sites to get all 3 nights. The campground was full but peaceful. Both our sites had easy access to a bathhouse - one newer than the other, but both clean. We walked both loops, though the hills made it somewhat challenging for us flatland Florida folks. Note that the rate we paid is the senior pass half price rate.

Beautiful well kept park. Our site was one of the best we've ever stayed in. The parking area was level, easy to access with steps down to another large area that had a picnic table, fire ring, grill and lantern poles and steps that lead to a short path to the lake. Beautiful lakeside view, large spaces between us and the other sites, shaded and clean. We didn't use or check out the bathrooms/showers. The host who checked us in was pleasant and helpful. Our loop was quiet when we stayed during the week, it's likely weekends are busy. We had 5 bars of 4G on Verizon. Used our Senior Pass for a 50% discount.
Two dump stations, one has quite an incline which would make completely dumping tanks difficult.

We love this campground and this is the first time on this particular site. It is very shaded and private with a short trail down to the swimming area/beach and playground. Very short walk to the bath house. All our grandson wanted for his 4th birthday party was to have a dino party at the campground so that's what he got! This site is a bit smaller some of the others but it was great for our 33ft Springdale. Plenty of trees for hammocks as well. The hosts were very nice and pleasant as usual. The bath house we used was clean and well kept. The campground has 2 main loops and each loop has one dump station. There was a little bit of a wait at the dump station as everyone was leaving about the same time but that is expected. Great cell service with Spring and Verizon. Over the air TV picked up very well with about 30 channels.

We just happened to stay here for a night as we were passing through the area, and found a gem! Such beautiful waterfront sites, lovely wooded setting. We wished we had time to stay longer. But we will make a point of returning. The only downside was the shower. The shower stalls only had a curtain on the outer shower area, but no curtain separating the shower from the changing part of the stall, so water kind of went everywhere. Water was lukewarm. But that didn't take away from it being a very nice campground.

We stayed here during the Clemson spring football game when every site was booked. The sites were large enough with trees and grassy areas in between so that it didn’t seem crowded. Almost every site is lake front, so picking a bad site is difficult. There are pictures of each site on the internet, just not on the booking website. All of the sites in our small loop were wonderful, but I wouldn’t recommend 80 as it sits back from the water and basically looks right into another person’s patio area. We were right on the water, which made fishing and swimming easy. Some sites in the 30-50 area are higher up from the lake...pretty views but not as conducive to getting in the water. Sites in the lower numbers sit in a private loop that appeared to be quite peaceful. Sites around the beach area would be great for families with small children, but not those looking for a quiet getaway. The 90s sites face the boat launch, which could make for a loud night as lots of boats were out fishing late. Most sites were level and spacious. The parking/patio area on each site is sand, so bring a broom unless you don’t mind a sandy camper floor. The entire park was well kept and the bath houses were always very clean. There are plenty of options for groceries and other incidentals within a 15 minute drive.

This is our 3rd stay early this spring. The site is a double in a small loop of 5 campsites. The site is nice and large, easy back in, extra parking spaces across from the site. There is no slope to the water and there is a small sandy beach area when the water is down which it is right now. We love this campground as we do most COE campgrounds. The camp hosts and the camp volunteers are always nice and friendly. The bathhouses are always clean and well kept. We camp here at least 3 or 4 times a summer, always on our favorites list. Very good over the air/antennae TV reception and Sprint cell reception was good as was Verizon reception. A few great trees to hang a hammock for an afternoon nap.

Stayed here July 8th-11th. Luckily, I had full shade because the roof AC decided to stop working after 1 day there. Stayed comfortable day and night with just fans.
I did have a bit of trouble getting perfectly level, but got close enough. Lake Hartwell is a very petty lake, and I thoroughly enjoyed my first spot in my journey!
