This park has excellent proximity to a beautiful beach and is adjacent to a nice paved bike/walking trail. We had a nice, level spot and could hear the waves.

The sites are small, so choose carefully if you are not camping in a tent. It’s an amazing place to camp with giant rocks all around and some scenic hikes accessible from the campground.

The best part of this stay was being able to ride our bikes into the cute town of Capitola, where we had a delicious lunch. On our second night, a large group (3+ cars, 4 tents) set up camp in the site adjacent to ours. They did not respect the posted quiet hours and no one seemed to be monitoring. The only reason that we would return to this park would be if we could procure one of the premium sites with a view overlooking the bay.

We really enjoyed this park! It has some vegetation and you can walk across the street to a nature boardwalk, marina, and restaurant. There is also a museum and rookery within walking distance. We biked into the town of Morro Bay where there are shops, restaurants, and places to view otters, as well as a nearby surfing beach. Looking forward to going back!

We chose this park for the location - it is on the Green Line train which goes to Temple Square and the city center for $2.50. The park itself has trees, paved sites, and several other amenities, but it also has a large number of long term “campers” (including mobile homes) and is on a busy road. We didn’t use the laundry, showers, or bathrooms, so cannot comment on those. We took a look at the hot tub, but passed on it based upon the included photo. The office staff advised not to walk anywhere as the KOA is not in the best area.
If you camp here, choose a site other than “back-in/tent” as these back up directly to a road, which is noisy.

We stayed in one of the less expensive sites (water and electricity, but no sewer) during a cold, rainy spell. Unfortunately, our site picnic table was in the middle of a huge puddle. There is a lot of construction going on in the campground, so there is a lot of mud on the roads, as well.
The on-site laundry was a plus.

We chose to stay here because of the proximity to the San Francisco ferry, and it met that need. It is basically a parking lot with pretty tight spaces. There are a number of long term residents here as evidenced by the collections of belongings outside of their RVs. It is also right next to the highway, so there is constant traffic noise. You can see the San Quentin prison from the dog walking area behind the RV park (it’s across the bay), which is interesting.

The sites have full hookups which is nice, but it’s close to the road, so there is traffic noise. We were in site #8 which is shaded and one of the more level sites. Unfortunately, the park had storm damage and it isn’t possible to walk very far. In its current state, I’d say it’s fine for an overnight, but not a destination.
