While most people would choose being directly on the coast, getting a site on water is difficult to say the least. Not wanting to chance it while on a 5 month tour of the Southwest and Cali, I had made reservations at Foster Residence Park. I was not disappointed. Not a lot of sites, but full hookups and a concrete pad was just what we were looking for after having been in Joshua Tree NP for 7 nights. We also stayed here because we planned on doing an overnight tenting trip on Santa Cruz Island, one of five islands in the Channel Iskands National Park.
We really enjoyed the short drive into Ventura for St Patrick’s Day celebrations and the fantastic bike path into Ojai, another beautiful little city.
The only down side was we had to leave early due to heavy rains and threat of flooding.
I’d recommend this place to anyone looking for a spot near Ventur, CA.

We needed a few days to catch up on work and not be distracted by the ocean out our window tempting us to surf. This place was perfect.

Great cell signal, mostly empty while we were there midweek, and hook ups for super cheap.

The restroom was always sparkling clean (probably because nobody was there using it), but there are no showers which was a bummer.

The sites are long cement driveways and are super long, most are level but a few are on an incline

This is a nice park, with plenty of trees and a few places to go for hikes or walk the dog. There are hook-up and dry camping sites. We stayed on a hookup site, it's also probably the only site that will fit a 45' coach. This site is level, but there are many that are not so level, ok for a trailer and jacks, but we air level which is a little more restrictive. I did drag the back of the RV on the road as I drove up the small incline into the park, but was able to raise the suspension and get in.

The sites nearest the entrance get a bit more road noise because there's a T-junction opposite.

Verizon was bulletproof with or without a booster. 18dB SNR/80dB signal with WeBoost.

So, a very nice park, with good cell reception, well taken care of, nice and quiet, close to Venture and the ocean.

We stayed here at the Foster Residence Campground twice for about 5 days each. The park is clean, there are NO showers, but the full-hookup sites are really nice and are concrete pads. There's a short trail on the premises, and it's very close to Ventura and Ojai.

This place is very beautiful. Great tree cover and abundant wildlife. We had great cell service to work, and it was perfectly close to Ventura, Ojai and Santa Barbara to choose what we would do with our afternoons. There is a little traffic noise to deal with which I imagine is worse on the weekend.

There are no shower but we had full hook-ups and the bathroom facilities are very well maintained.

If you have a dog, it is probably best to have it on a leash at all times. Even at night. We were sitting outside with our dog lying at our feet when a very tame grey fox walked through our camp. Thankfully our girl is very well trained and is old enough to not care for the chase, but it would be terrible for a dog to run out into these woods at dark.

This is a great little park. It's an older wooded park, near a river. Away from the city. Sites aren't level, but they are paved. Great Verizon and AT&T cell service, but Verizon was better. Could stream both. It was quiet and peaceful. Temperature was warmer than the coast but not hot in July. Some sites are small, so be sure to check the site length for big rigs.

Stayed here at Foster Residence campground and have to say it is the quietest and cleanest campsite so far. Full hookups although some sites aren’t too level ours was. The campground Host Lynne runs a very clean tight ship here. She’s a joy to talk to and keeps a very clean campground. This is a small place with some tent camping up in the back. No showers but the bathrooms are clean. There are a few trails here and you can go down the road and pick up the bike path to Ojai or Ventura beach. We had a very pleasant stay here and will be back again. Cell service for Verizon is 2 to 3 bars and AT&T was spottier but still worked. The road noise wasn’t all that bad considering you’re at a T here and overall it’s a very clean quiet relaxing place to camp.

We stay here all of the time! It's our "commuter camp" campground. We live about 15 minutes away and if we need to get "away" we stay here for a few days or a week and I can drive into town to work. We have 3 or 4 of our favorite sites here and over the years have gotten to know the camp host and her husband. She keeps a super clean park, keeps the riff raff out and keeps the black water dumps locked until she knows a RV is coming in. There is no trash and no loud parties after quiet time. If you want to sit amongst the oak trees and have peace and quiet at 9 pm, it's perfect! There is some road noise, but that quiets down as well. The tent sites (which some can fit smallish RVs) are super cool - filled with rocks and old picnic tables. Fantastic, clean campground - mainly thanks to Lynne the camp host! NOTE: FOSTER PARK RESIDENCE IS THE 2ND CAMPGROUND - FOSTER PARK RED MOUNTAIN (no hookups) IS THE FIRST CAMPGROUND YOU COME TO JUST AFTER THE BRIDGE.

We really enjoyed our stay at Foster Residence! Campground is immaculate with some nice short trails for a dog walk. Price is fair for California and close enough to easily drive into Ventura Beaches or Ojai while secluded enough to give you the inner coastal experience. We would gladly come back!

Only downside for those who need cell service: AT&T did not perform well. Verizon was perfect. Also a little highway noise from a bridge nearby but not bad with earplugs :)

Sites are full hook ups from 1-10. I stayed at site number 2 but it is to close from the street. If you like to explore you will to drive, not much around to do. Ojay was definitely a mist go small city, but the campground is nothing special.
