The rates quoted here are WAY out of date. The website now says $75 and $85 a night, plus 10% tax.

We stayed here in 2012 -- the rates are now $65/night, and overall it's not that convenient to the city really. It's the tightest spot we've ever had to get into. Our neighbor had to put in his slide out and move his truck for us to back in!

If this park were anywhere else but the outrageously expensive Bay Area...But here it is the very best of the 4 we've used. The sites are perfect for Airstreams, which we saw a ton of. Today's bigger rigs with slides on both sides, would literally fill the entire width of the site. It appears that, whenever possible, bigger units are given 2 sites. This exemplifies what we saw of all the employees. They really go out of their way to make your stay the best experience possible. Information is provided to help guests take advantage of the nearby ferry that takes you within steps of the public transportation system in SF. Walking & biking trails abound with many shopping & eating options readily accessible using them. The provided Internet didn't work very well with my iPad. The best I ever got with the Verizon 4g was 3 bars, but no trees interfered with satellite TV reception. Not a place with room for kids unless the pool were open during the visit. We liked so well that our one week stay turned into 15 days!

This RV park is located just off 101 and has convenient access to the Larkspurs ferry into San Francisco, which is the best reason to stay here. The sites are quite tight, it is basically a parking lot with gravel pads and no trees. We were fortunate enough to get two sites, one for our 5th wheel and one for our truck and we were grateful for the extra space. The sites are marked off with railroad ties and can be difficult to get into, but don't let that discourage you.

Upon checking in we received a lot of information about the area and getting into SF. The front desk was very helpful with our questions. The walk to the ferry is about 15 minutes, they give you a ferry schedule upon arrival, use it! The park have full hookups, so I didn't use the restrooms or showers, but my husband used then men's showers. You have to leave a $10 deposit for the card to use the shower, which you get back when you return the card. My husband said that two of the four showers were not operational. There are also showers and restrooms available at the pool area, I didn't visit those so I don't know what shape they were in. The park has a large laundry facility that is clean and fairly convenient. There are many washers and dryers and sizes range from large to extra large to really extra large. Prices vary, depending on hot or cold water and the size of the washer/dryer. There is a large table in the center for folding laundry.

The pool was open while we were there and our granddaughter used it once. It's small and can get quite crowded. I wouldn't call this a campground, it's really a parking area for visiting the area. There is little to no space to entertain outside, we didn't spend anytime outside at our site, even with the extra space.

One last thing, access to the park from the interstate can be confusing. We came from the North and decided to pass the first exit and continue to the one past the park. You exit, turn left and get back on the interstate heading North, taking the Lucky Drive exit to get to the park. Even this exit was a little confusing, keep right and be prepared to exit right rapidly. From there it's an easy left turn with the park being on your right.

I'm not in love with this park, but it's San Francisco and the easy access to the ferry made it a great location.

We stayed here at Marin RV park for three nights.
Dianne on the front desk could not have been more welcoming or helpful.
The park is very quiet considering the location.
All amenities clean and we'll maintained.
A short walk to catch the ferry to San Fran.
We would highly recommend this park to all.

We stayed at the Marin Park from late October through January. The layout of this park is a one-way U-shaped driveway. They tend to put the larger class A's (like us) on the first straightaway, while those with smaller rigs tended to turn the corner and park on the second straightaway. This seems to be due to the driveway being a bit wider on the Class A side. No pull through spots but parking was very easy.

Transportation
From the park, you have several options to get to San Francisco. When I worked in SF, the one I used the most was the Larkspur Ferry, which is a 12 minute walk from the park. The pedestrian walking path on the bridge is narrow and not very pleasant due to the car traffic being so close, but after that it's a nice walk on a bike path. The ferry is about $11 each direction, but if you get a Clipper card it drops to about $7.25 per direction, so if you're planning on commuting you should consider getting one. The ferry runs often, takes about 30 minutes and drops you at the Ferry Building in San Francisco. The second option I used a handful of times was Uber. This is pricey and runs about $30-$35 one-way. Lastly, there is a bus option which I believe is the cheapest mode of transport but I never used it because the Ferry was so nice (and allows dogs if they're in a bag).

Walkability
In addition to being close to the Ferry, you can walk to most services you may need. Trader Joe's is an under 10 minute walk. Safeway is about a 20 minute walk which is part of a larger outdoor mall with more shopping. There seem to be endless bike/walking paths in this area, so if you have dogs or like to exercise you'll have lots of options!

Park Facilities
They have men's and women's shower and restroom facilities. These were always clean and the water pressure and hot water was good. The laundry room is open 8am-8pm and has a coin machine (which always worked), the normal things like detergent, drinks and snacks, and most recently they installed a vending machine for necessities you have have forgotten like toothpaste, deodorant, etc. The park office sells basic RV gear like sewer hoses.

The washing machines broke from time to time but were fixed quickly. The cheapest washing machine cost about $1.75 where the front loaders were $4-$5. Drying was 25 cents per 5 minutes. There is a small pool, but it's closed during the winter. Wifi is free (limited to about 1GB per day), but not quite reliable enough to use for work.

Mail & Deliveries
You can get mail and UPS/FedEx here and the front office is great about handling it. They post a list each afternoon on their window of what last name has mail waiting. For some delivery services like FedEx, if you put your space number they'll often deliver to your door (but beware that they may just leave it there if you're not home). If you don't note your space and just put c/o Marin Park Inc it will be delivered to the office.

Dog Friendliness
This park really wins in this category. The people who work in the front office love dogs and give visiting dogs a cookie from their dog cookie jar. It became our dog Lily's "thing" to go pick up the mail, because that meant she'd get a treat and lots of pets. The far end of the parking lot has a poop bag dispenser and a grassy area that follows some old train tracks.

Price
It's San Francisco, so yes it's on the expensive side. Overnight rates start from $75, and an off-season month was $1200 + electricity.

This is just like other people have stated: A convenient place to stay to be able to take the Larkspur Ferry into San Francisco. It is clean, well run, nice bathrooms, and a laundry area. The sites are very tight. But the big thing is the ease of getting into San Francisco. The ferry is right next door, about a 15 minute walk. We never did the walk. Decided to see if we could find parking space in the ferry lot. We checked it out and saw open spots so we came back to the RV, got our stuff ready to hit the city and then drove back to the lot. We parked there the two days we visited the city. Parking is only $2 a day in the ferry parking lot and after 1pm it is free. It is also free on the weekends. Plenty of parking available after 1 on the Friday we were there and tons on Saturday. Made it nice not to have to walk back to the campgrounds at night in the dark after having toured all day. The ferry ride is great. Comfortable and you get to go right by San Quentin. SO if you can't make Alcatraz you can still see a prison pretty close up!!
You can buy your ferry tickets at the machines located outside the terminal and people are so nice to help you if you just ask someone standing in line (like I did). Catch the F line trolley right outside the Ferry Terminal to go to Fisherman's Wharf (a LONG walk). People will be standing and waiting by the trolley tracks. It is only $1.35 for seniors. You have to have the exact change. No change given back.

Pros: felt very safe, really nice owners, walkable to grocery stores, a cute shopping center, and the ferry to SF. It was a good home base for a few months.

Cons: I know it's the bay area, but this just felt like highway robbery. The long term rate was $1500/mo (plus electricity!) during off season. Daily rate is twice that ($100/night). You pay for a very small, very tight, gravel parking spot. Your neighbors are about 7 feet away from each side of your trailer. No grass, no picnic table, just gravel. The place itself is right off the highway in a not-so-nice area. A lot of traffic noise. VERY hard to back into sites (90 degree turn with narrowish road). Laundry facilities were very old W/D for $5 per wash and about $3 per dry.

Other options in the area are just as expensive and appeared much more run down, and I know supply/demand requires this buttttt they could make it a bit nicer for the price paid. I would only recommend if you're stopping by to spend time in SF or if you're working in the area. Not the type of place you want to hang out at all day.

You’re basically paying $50 to park on concrete with access to hook ups and facilities. The big bonus is that it is close to the ferry do you have access to San Francisco, but these prices Are a bit too much. Staff was really nice

30 mins away from the City. A bit pricy but that is to be expected in SF. Clean facilities but make no mistake about it... this is a parking lot with hook ups and the sites are in arms length in proximity to each other. It is well worth it as one can be in the city within 30mins. We will def stay here again.
