This is by far one of the most picturesque campgrounds we have ever encountered. Even though it is directly off I-15, because of the way it is situated, the only road noise we heard was semi-truck engine braking.
There is a large picnic area with access to the Virgin River.
The park is closing next Monday for a complete renovation. I can’t wait to return next year!

Just far enough off I-20 to enjoy a quiet, peaceful night. Managers were very friendly and came to us to collect the nightly fee.
Gravel site was level and long enough to accommodate our 36’ rig and toad.
Electric in good working order and had 20-30-50 amp service.
Cool stone ruins of former pump station to explore. Ruins not dog friendly; lots of broken glass.

Recommend reservations. Park was full while we were there.
Right off I-25 but no traffic noise! Poorly signed . Riverside Loop is actually labeled Caballo Dam. First drive on the right as you exit.
Full hook-ups; all worked well. Level, gravel site. Two sites occupy one gravel pad. Many others pull-through.
Fishing, birding, trees, rock hounding. Lots of riverbed exposed.
Bathrooms not open during our visit.
Beautiful scenery across the river.
Next time will try Riverbend bathhouse in Truth or Consequences.

We are driving 400 mile days and this was the perfect peaceful spot for a good night’s sleep.
Camp Hosts on site greeted us promptly.
Site was level.
Wooded but pruned well so our solar panels absorbed nicely.
It does take about 30 minutes to reach the park from 72 but it is well worth the extra time.

If you are a Western movie buff, you will enjoy the setting and the history here. It is close to I-10 but the boulders muffle the traffic noise. The ranch host met us at the gate and welcomed us warmly. We stayed overnight and just hooked up to electric. Roads inside of the ranch were pretty rough due to recent heavy rainfall. We thoroughly enjoyed our evening walk-about. The night sky was spectacular. Sunrise on the boulders was beautiful.

The process itself to make a reservation went smoothly. I received quick email and SMS messages to confirm and instructions.
Arrived at the gate at 4:50 p.m. we were right behind a gentleman who licked the gate and left. No matter how many times and different ways we tried to enter the code we were given, the lock wouldn’t open. Made initial call to park office. Even though it was before 5:00, no one answered. They provided a number for staff on site Friday through Sunday. Called the number six times and left six messages. No response.
So instead of a restful stay after 7 hours of driving, we had to stay in a casino parking lot off I-10. Not a happy camper!

Definitely worth the 45 minute 5 mile drive off the main road! Absolutely stunning scenery, sunset, night sky. Helps to have a vehicle to scout for a site. Vehicles on marked roads only.
Do not attempt to access in the dark or after a rain.

We have boondocked on BLM land for the last 5 months. We have never felt as insecure as we did here. The camp host has been AWOL for more than 24 hours. In an almost empty campground, we had people set up camp after dark directly adjacent to us. We are trying to maintain social distancing. When confronted, they became argumentative. The camp host was off duty for the evening and the entire next day. We had to move even though we were there first.
The campground is in deplorable condition due to a flood a year ago. It is my opinion it should be closed until appropriate dangers can be taken care of. We had two huge ankle-breaking holes in site #174.
The litter and trash, including outside the camp host’s kiosk, is out of control.
Also the campground is not restricted to paid campers. Several people arrived in the evening to fish behind our campsite.
