Best caverns I've seen. We did the elevator entrance self tour. It was pretty easy going for us (60's) but there were a few places where the paved path was a little steep so that might be a consideration for some people. Definitely comfy walking shoes as another reviewer suggested.
We were here two nights. We had a friendly welcome to the park and found the park staff to be friendly and helpful. It had an indoor swimming pool and a game room. The grounds were mostly crushed limestone but areas were well kept. There was not much shade (our entire section had none) so I imagine it is very hot during the summer months.
The bathrooms/showers are part of the main building so it is a little bit of a walk from some areas of the RV park. The bathrooms and showers are in need of an overhaul. They were usable and tolerable but not clean by anyone's standards.
I would stay here again but I would first look at the reviews of other nearby campgrounds. I don't believe this park warrants a 2 rating but I think it should be under a 3.
This was fabulous and turned out to be one of the highlights of our 2 week RV road trip. I'm not sure which I enjoyed the most, the museum, the plants, learning about the desert or seeing the wildlife that lives in the desert. We will gladly make the 8 hour trip back to Carlsbad with our grand kids to share this with them.
Great pause for thought. Lots of reading and a few displays. It was worth our time and at only $5 it was great inexpensive entertainment/knowledge. Picked up a few souvenirs for the grand kids there.
The other stops we were going to make in Roswell were closed due to it being opening day of the state fair.
The RV Park was good. The hosts were very friendly and helpful.
Bathrooms were clean but not new. They park is being expanded as well but this is not a deterrent of any kind. There is not much of a view from the park, as scenery goes, We did not see aliens, BUT we did not get abducted either ;-)
We would stay here again if in the area.
Must visit. Great restaurants and art shopping/browsing. This is a fun place that is what I view as a great representation of Santa Fe culture. Pretty much everything is within easy walking distance of the Plaza.
Locals also bring there wares to the plaza (Palace of the Governor) area for sale. If you are interested you go to them, they do not come to you.
In my opinion, you haven't been to Santa Fe if you haven't been to the plaza.
Nice RV park, friendly staff. Clean restrooms, showers and laundry. Bus stop to downtown Santa Fe is right outside the park wall. Frequent bus stops make it easy to get into town. Some restaurants and shopping within walking distance if you like. There is a well kept seasonal swimming pool. We were there two nights and would stay there again when in the area.
Well, we took a chance and stopped here. We were lucky as there was a local youth drive event that was taking place. We couldn't go in and mingle but we were able to see the set itself. It was neat, but a bit disappointing. Perhaps that is why it is not open to the public ;-)
Nice park, friendly host and thoughtful follow-up. Free breakfast and dinner can be ordered in. Neat to see and walk through the lava fields surrounding the RV Park. We were late in and early out so not much else to say other than I would stay here again if ever back in this area.
Really nice RV Park. We were here for two nights. RV Park is part of the Grand Canyon Railway Hotel and Railway complex. Lots of amenities which included those of the Hotel patrons. Very clean and well kept. Easy walking distance to downtown Williams for shopping and eating. We stayed here and opted to take the train to Grand Canyon because there were no sites available in Grand Canyon Village area. I do not regret this at all. The train ride to the canyon became another highlight of our trip.
