Great little campground. Right off of the highway but no noise. Offer meals delivered to your campsite and a free continental breakfast in morning. Will stay again if passing through
Owners working hard to upgrade this campground. We upgraded to site with patio…unfortunately, it was next septic and smell was pretty bad when the wind blew the wrong way! Too bad cause the site itself was beautiful with new fire pit, grill , table & chairs. Nice walking path with informational signs about history of the area. Great potential here. Nice hosts, friendly staff! Beautiful views….especially the sunrise!!!
Basic older KOA Journey but staff is very friendly and helpful. Sites are close but for overnight no big deal. The best part is you can order dinner (good variety from turkey dinner to pizza) and they will deliver it to your campsite. In the morning there is free pancakes, cereal, oatmeal and coffee in the office. The only downside was a distinct occasional sewer smell but it was windy out and not sure where it was coming from. Right off the interstate is very convenient.

Very clean tiled bathrooms and showers. The campground is clean and well maintained. The staff is exceptionally helpful and kind. We had a meal delivered to our site. The food was hot and good. They offer a free pancake breakfast. There were a few trains that went through nearby during the night but they weren’t much of an issue for us.

We stayed one night at this KOA. The lava trail was beautiful (we've stayed here before). It's lovely in the early morning or twilight. But the bathhouse is really very old, yet clean. The stalls are too small, and the shower stall I was in had a hole in the wall. We'd stay again for the scenery, and I guess deal with the bathhouse.

The staff is friendly and helpful. Because of COVID-19 we have not made use of any of the common areas. The campground is surrounded by lava formations. The views of the dramatic New Mexico landscape are awesome. All of the RV sites are pull-through with easy access.
We are on a cross trip taking my Daughter to college and we are staying here during the week so that I can work. The cellular service is good here, I'm getting 18Mbit/s on downloads which makes working remotely feasible for me.
The BNSF mainline runs through Grants, NM and trains run frequently. I enjoy the train sounds, but it does increase the noise level.
There is plenty of wildlife in the area, rabbits on the lava trail, a wide variety of birds, horse roam the property next door, as well a friendly Tarantula.

Friendly & helpful office staff. Clean site and quiet. Heard the train but not bad. Nice camp setting. They have complementary breakfast at the office. They also have dinner service to your RV if in park by 6:45 pm. We would definitely stay again. Great pet areas too. Didn’t use bathhouse.

This place isn’t as nice as other KOA’s but what it lacks in amenities, it makes up for in its natural setting. The bathrooms are fine but very old. But what really is the gem is the beautiful scene behind it and a nature walking trail. Beautiful lava rock and even really helpful signs with information about the landscape.
WiFi is fine for working/email, but streaming was really slow with lots of buffering. Great for a one night stay with restaurants and a Walmart near by. It’s off the highway so much better than the other RV park option near by.

The staff was so friendly, reservations and check-in were quick and easy. Our site was at the end of the campground overlooking a gorgeous mountain range where we enjoyed the sunset! This campground offers a dinner meal delivered to your RV (additional price) so we had a delicious turkey dinner with all the fixin's including peach pie and ice cream! It was a welcome treat at the end of a full day of driving. There was also coffee and a continental breakfast served in the registration building in the morning. Since we have bathroom facilities in our RV, we did not use the bathhouse.

We were pleased to get a spot after calling late! It was after dark when we arrived and our spot was between two large motor homes with slides. Our little 24 ft trailer barley fit and my husband hD to move the picnic table. It was disappointing to see open spots the next morning which would have provided a more comfortable stay. Next time we will request a more spacious spot. It was also a bit muddy and would benefit from more gravel.
