What's Around the Next Bend

We are traveling all through Nova Scotia and have been staying at many campgrounds along the coast. We called in for a reservation and were quoted $84 for ocean front camping. This is almost double of what we have been paying, but agreed to it. There was also a $12 reservation fee on top of the nightly rate. The ocean front campsites are the least nice. They are very close together, they are across the road from the ocean and sited so only your front or back could get a view, because once the other campers arrive you only have a view of them. The sites are so close together they are only an awning space away. It’s a shame because we walked the campground and there are some really nice other sites. We asked to move to a site without services and were told our camper was too big (we were in our truck camper). Very disappointed and would not recommend staying here unless you knew what you were getting into.

Stopover on our way south. Came in on a Sunday (office closed) and took a spot. All spots are water front. Great breeze and beautiful sunset. We paid in the morning before heading out. Will definitely be coming back!

Really friendly staff and beautifully kept KOA. We stayed in November and the place was mostly empty. Sites are big and some offer really nice extras. Would definitely stay here again.

We stayed for a month while visiting my son and his wife in Miami. A little far of a drive (~45 minutes) but since we were working during the week and only going into Miami on weekends the location of the campground was great. Stayed here during Covid and masks were enforced, we felt very safe. Very nice people to call neighbors in the campground also.

Pros: very friendly staff. We originally had site 5, but it was small and closer to the road, so the road noise was loud. We asked to move and we were able to switch to site 9 which was a bit bigger and had less road noise. Also had a few packages to get and it was no problem.

Cons: Note to all; if you check Google maps satellite, if there are windmills it means it will be very windy. Additionally, although many have stated the WiFi is great, but we found it slow and after ~5pm (when people arrived back for the evening) it was almost unusable. With no other options, and spotty cell phone coverage, it made for challenging online access.

We would stay here again, but go in with the right expectations

Cute campground - arrived on Saturday and left on Wednesday. Saturday was busy but quieted down pretty early. On Sunday most campers left and it was very quiet. Great access for kayaking on Squamscott River.

First the pros: Beautiful spot right on the Missouri River. We paid extra for river front but in mid-May, the place was fairly empty. The staff was very friendly and accommodating.

Cons: There was basically no WiFi. Right next to the main building I was able to get logged in, but it took roughly 10-15 attempts, and as soon as you walked ~20 feet away, it was no longer available. The dump station was also closed and was told the hope was to have it open in the fall.

Due to the roads coming in from the west, disconnect any tows. Dirt and windy, but very pretty drive. Not recommended for larger RV’s IMO

Beautiful campground, we booked months in advance and unfortunately they have since been informed that their dump station is indefinitely closed. Since there are no sewer hookups on site, this made for a long period of time watching water usage very carefully (closest dump station is 10+ miles away). Additionally there is only 1 shower at the campground, and although very clean (and hot water!) they do charge $1.00 per 2 minutes - making water issues overall, an issue during our stay.

Would recommend staying, if it is short term as longer stays require too much water/sewer planning/management

this campground does everything right. Beautiful well spaced sites. Great bike trails with easy access to CCRT. We were in self-contained unit and therefore did not use the facilities.

Note: we were told the new managers took over in May 2021. They were very nice and accommodating.

We stayed for 4 nights visiting family. Well maintained facility. Wi-Fi was spotty though.

Would definitely stay again.
