Do you research on the routes to the campground, there are some very steep curvy routes. I recommend 151 from waynesboro.

A really nice campground during the week. woke, had coffee and watched the deer in the campground. The weekend the previously vacant sight had 4 cars and trucks with roof top tents in it. Lets say they took up their site and most of ours and the site on the other side.

decent cell coverage, shower house was very clean and had plenty of hot water.

The brewery was okay, probably a bit over hyped.

I have never seen so many staff at a private campground. The staff was nice and the grounds well kept.

The site was not very level, the power and water was fine, the cable tv hook up was a coax able with no connector hanging off the power pedestal, broken. no sewer at our site. It was clean and gravel surface. we camped on the creek feeding the pond, a shame folks feed the duck was we couldn't eat outside as a result.

There is a high number of horse flys, and resultant painful bites.

The shower house and bathrooms were very clean and well stocked. The only complaint is the shower heads are mounted extremely low, if you are 5' 5 you are probably good, the shower stalls are very small.

The wifi is very good.

As noted in other reviews there is a number of long term oil field workers living here. They have loud diesel trucks and leave early in the morning. The worst was the domestic issues, just sayin

The site was reasonably level considering it was on the side of a hill. only took one block to level trailer side to side. AC power was good as was the water pressure.

Shower houses were closed due to Covid. Pool was opened and completely choked with kids.

The campsites are very close together, I was thankful that our neighbor didnt have a campfire as it would have probably bubbled the paint on my truck, they are that close together.

Unless you want to want to drive an hour or better early in the morning to catch the ferry to ocracoke it is the only game in town.

The campground is remote and everything that entails. Our biggest complaint is the office is not marked and a crossed the street from the campground in the cedar island visitor center.......Not very well marked. Did not use the shower facilities as the exterior was in not great repair so we did not go in. Never did find the dumpster and ended up taking our trash with us.

Did not have any power issues

We arrived 7:30ish after a long day of travel. Greeted by a smiling host at registration. no muss or fuss check in. $21 for 30 amp water with passport america.

Site was level on a gravel grass pad, lots of seasonal/permanent trailers around the edges of the park. A few golf carts about but not bad. it was a very quite restful night, we were worried as the park is close to the highway, we experience no highway noise.

The shower house was clean and water was warm with plenty of pressure. The park was very clean.

We will stay again when in the area

park is easy enough to find, Reservation system was a scratch pad, so before you arrive call to make sure you are on the list might be in order. Most of the sites are not shaded and the sites are close together. Water pressure and Power were fine. Our site was along the treeline and was not very level on a gravel pad.

Guessing there must be a lot of long term or weekend campers as there were a large number of trailers and not very many people. so it could be very busy and noisy on the weekend

The shower house was clean and the water was very hot. The shower stalls were very spacious.

I wanted to really love this experience. Just not sure I can.

Arrival was painless, the site was clean and had been prepped for us. Water and power were both good. The shower house bathroom was always clean and stock, the shower had plenty of hot water and was clean.

The issues that make me unsure if it is a good experience or not.

the other campers......wow so inconsiderate of other guest. Loud music, unsupervised kids, Huge mounds of trash.

Trash can was set on fire a couple of time because people were dumping their fire pit into it.

The golf carts, the endless parade of golf carts going round and round.

the campsites with half a dozen tents and 30 campers with associated kids, bikes cars, toys

The pool, tough to relax with 20 kids playing tag in the entire pool area, not to mention jumping and playing in the hot tub.

The Food, we ordered some ribs and fried chicken only to wake up with food poisoning, so we were violently ill for a day and a half.

The site was nice, the campground was well maintained as was the pool and walkways.

Then the value for dollars paid. Really hard to justify spending $150 per night for a water and electric only site. Just not worth it.

We stayed mid March. Heading south we stopped and flushed the antifreeze out and filled our fresh water tanks.

The campground is clean and very well maintained. the power and water hookups were good. The bathrooms and shower house was clean and the water was warm and the pressure was good.

Just a basic overnight spot with power and water while traveling

Our site was shaded and quiet during the week. On the weekend the golf cart crew arrived and the tweenagers spent the rest of the weekend going round and round on the camp road.

The shower house was clean, shower stalls were a bit small, the water was warm.

We were traveling through the area mid week and it was a good place to stop and spend the night with AC power.

The rate we paid was with the Passport america discount.

The camp site was on a grass surface, the water pressure and AC power at the site was good. The sewer hook up was okay, a pipe below the surface with a plug.

The site was very shaded.

The bad, the park is very close to a highway off ramp, it was loud with jack brakes and harleys all night. The shower house, it was clean and had plenty of warm water, but it is on par with a shower house at a scout camp. very little privacy, cement floors and block walls.

Full price would have been far to expensive for this campground.
