“the only campground in Walt Disney World”
Most people might not realize that in the 750 acres of pine forest just between Epcot and Magic Kingdom hides Disney's Fort Wilderness, one of the most awesome RV parks in America! Remember how much fun you had going to camp? Well, Fort Wilderness is basically that… but better. There’s arts and crafts for the kids all day long, well-stocked fishing holes, movies under the stars, campfire singalongs, and even fireworks every single night. But this place has one thing that your camp didn’t: wilderness tours…on an all-terrain segway. You can hop on one of these futuristic vehicles and buzz through the woods on a two hour guided tour of the Wilderness lodge, the Tri-Circle-D ranch, and Bay Lake, where you’ll hear trivia about the park and get up close to the local wildlife. It’s kind of like having Robocop as your camp counselor. But, you know, friendlier. The best part about Fort Wilderness, though? When you’ve filled up on s’mores and told your last ghost story by the campfire, all you’ve gotta do is hop on a boat and you’re headed just across the lake to the Magic Kingdom! The Cabins at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort provide an idyllic setting for a family vacation. Nestled on 750 wooded acres of lush pine and cypress trees, the cabins provide all the comforts of home wrapped in a rustic, American Frontier theme. Time seems to slow down while you wander the quiet trails, and roaming ducks, deer and rabbits add to the sense that you are far away from the bustle of modern civilization. Location This Resort is located within the Magic Kingdom Area. Guests may also take advantage of the shuttle bus service to the famous Walt Disney World Theme Parks and Downtown Disney Area. Rooms The comfortable accommodation units all come with an ensuite bathroom with bathtub, shower and hairdryer. Further equipment includes a direct dial telephone, satellite/cable TV, an Internet connection, an in-room wall safe and a radio. Each of the spacious cabins offers a fully equipped kitchen, a terrace and air conditioning and heating are both individually controlled. The bedroom has a full bed and a bunk bed, and the living area has a pull-down bed. Sport You'll find lots to do within the Resort's spacious grounds. Seasonally, be sure to catch Mickey's Backyard BBQ Character Dining at the Fort Wilderness Pavilion. Explore the \backcountry\ aboard a Segway personal transporter or stroll over to the Tri-Circle-D Ranch for carriage, wagon or horseback rides, or for younger Guests, pony rides. Nearby are Trail's End Restaurant and Crockett's Tavern and the very popular Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue dinner show. For fun on the water, the marina at Bay Lake rents SeaRaycers, pontoon boats and other watercraft, and offers catch-and-release fishing expeditions. Meadow Recreation Area's outdoor theater is home to the nightly Chip 'n' Dale \Sing-a-Long\ and marshmallow roast, followed by a screening of a classic Disney movie. Other diversions abound as well: trails, tennis, volleyball, swimming, horseshoes, shuffleboard and archery you can even rent bicycles at the Bike Barn. Grab essentials at the Resort's trading posts or a bite to eat at the deli. Meals Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served. Payment American Express, Diners Club, MasterCard and VISA are accepted as methods of payment. We loved it here! Spacious sites with easy back in. Hook ups conveniently placed. We didn’t use the pool or splash pad. We did use the quick service restaurant and the food was ok. We also went to the sing along campfire with chip n dale which we enjoyed. It definitely is pricier for an RV campground of course. Lots of shaded areas. We enjoyed walking and taking a golf cart around to look at Halloween decorations and doing a bit of trick or treating. Also saw a few deer right near campsites.
Lots of shade and beautiful trees! Wild turkeys and deer walking right near campsite
Great for biking and walking.
Stayed next to dog park. Would definitely stay again.
