I called ahead to confirm permission (YES), arrived 8:30 pm and parked around side of building. We’ll lit by neighbor car dealer, fairly quiet but next to Interstate. Even treated ourselves to breakfast!

Nice quiet weekend, but make sure to ask if there are local events. That makes for a much busier campground. Clean and well groomed grounds. Activities scheduled but my group didn’t participate so no opinion. Easy to find and access (follow their directions vs GPS).

Easy to find, check-in process quick. Very large campground, yet not noisy. The bridge is out on this end of the lake, but only a 10 min detour to get around. This newest section has young trees, so not much shade, if any. The shower/restroom combo was clean (lots of room). Lots to do in this area — we went to a winery up by Lake Erie (Johnson Estate) and took a long drive on Route 5 — beautiful!

CLEAN, very well maintained, roomy site. We were here mid-May, Sun-Thurs, hence 1/2 full. Nice bath/shower building. Hosts Bill and Dee outstanding. The campground looks like it’s next to the Lake, but there is a chain link fence separation. Enough natural growth that attracts lot of birds and singing. I imagine in another 4 weeks there might be mosquitoes so I would choose a site away from that edge. Boat and traffic noise so minimal, not a concern for us. You can bike to Presque Isle but it’s about 5 miles, although a beautiful ride. We chose to drive to the park with our bikes. Beautiful park.

Oct 23-27 stay. Site 13 waterfront BUT not this time of year. FYI Little to no rainfall and TVA always lets water out for power plant. Highest level in Spring and early Summer. No matter, we loved our stay here. Very few campers, quiet. The fall leaves just beautiful. Restrooms were clean, staff very friendly. Enough paved roadways to short bike rides. We took e-bikes on one of the forest trails, there are several. Not far from Knoxville, we went to the zoo and we also did the Appalachian museum nearby.

We had visited this park a couple of years ago for bike riding--awesome trail! Now, we needed an overnight stop (Tuesday) and decided to try FCFS sites based on a review, and it didn't disappoint us. 90% of sites are FCFS and they all look great, well spaced apart. Paved, mostly level, electric 30/50, $20/night cash. It's a big park, 2 camp hosts. Lots of sites facing the lake (we stayed at #80). Shower/toilet house really old, but works. Vault toilets and water spigots throughout campground. Dump station also has water spigot.
