Confirmed by 3 users | Last reported on September 13, 2023The park is huge and have several campgrounds for reservations or first come first serve. The lake is also the 2nd largest one in the State, which is ideal for fishing. The spacing between sites are not bad, but once the lot is full you are able to see neighbors in all 360. Vice versa. The pad is long enough to fit <40ft rv and a small car but seems like a lot of people bring in not only RVs but also trucks, and boats that are bigger so they spill out. There is a rule for not doing this but seems like it is just ignored or the place is understaffed. Also, swimming in the lake seem to be discouraged. There are grasses, trees or rocks fencing the campgrounds.

Terrible signage within the sprawling property. We drove all over and never saw a sign marked RV camping. Very frustrating!! Once we found it, however, we found it to be beautiful and well maintained. Sites on the huge lake were nice if you’re lucky enough to get one! Camp hostess was delightful. Quiet nights sleep.

Very bad signage but able to find reserve sites. The sites in the reserved section are very large but no view of the lake. There were no trash receptacles in the reserved site area but did have a bathroom. Hostess was very nice.

So we had a nightmare yesterday our driveshaft fell off our rv. So we got towed to Salem got repaired late at night needed a place to crash. So found this place but all the entrances to the camping spots are blocked off. Being off-season and all. But you can park anywhere nobody came to bother us. So if it’s off-season and you need a quick sleep this will work. Also if you need any repairs the guys at centralia truck repair will do it 24-7! Cheap too! Awesome guys helped us a lot.

We initially booked our 2 night stay through the reservation system because that is what it lead us to believe was required. Our site was in the Bay View Loop #13 and was supposed to be a water view site, water view was an exaggeration. The entire loop was not very well maintained.
We asked to move to another site and was told “reserved areas” were managed differently than the FCFS sites and not transferable. So we moved our camper to FCFS water front site #46 and paid the 20$ rate and had a very enjoyable last night. The Host told us that the park reservation site does not do a good job of promoting the sites that don’t require a reservation.

We had visited this park a couple of years ago for bike riding--awesome trail! Now, we needed an overnight stop (Tuesday) and decided to try FCFS sites based on a review, and it didn't disappoint us. 90% of sites are FCFS and they all look great, well spaced apart. Paved, mostly level, electric 30/50, $20/night cash. It's a big park, 2 camp hosts. Lots of sites facing the lake (we stayed at #80). Shower/toilet house really old, but works. Vault toilets and water spigots throughout campground. Dump station also has water spigot.

We needed a easy overnight stop while traveling on I-57, and this fit the bill perfectly! No reservation, but plenty of open sites, (middle of September) very peaceful, beautiful lake, and the campground host where we checked in at was super friendly and helpful. We saw so many deer as we drove through the park, and that was really nice. We are already planning on coming back for a longer visit.
