The camp sites are very nice. Private and spaced a nice distance apart. Because it's a first come first serve I made a point of arriving early in the afternoon on the Friday before Labor Day weekend. I got one of the last two sites. Many people came afterward looking for an available site.
It was a little noisy with children at the two sites closest to mine. But that's be expected given its a holiday weekend. But everything quieted down after dark.
It had rained that morning and the gravel road leading into the cwiamp ground was muddy and slippery but not a problem for my Honda Odyssey. Just had to take it slow and easy.

This is the worst KOA I've ever stayed in. It was dark when I arrived and was told by the camp host someone would come and escort me to my sight. I waited but know one showed up so I had to drive around in the dark (poor outdoor lighting) to find my sight. Gravel and sand site, unpleasant. I couldn't use the dog park because the sign said it was closed at sun set which on this date was around 5PM. :(
Won't ever stay at this KOA again.

There are many lovely sites in this Recreation area. Dumpsters and vault toilets. I would definitely camp here again.

I made reservations for this campground early in the day while traveling across Arkansas using recreation.gov. The registration process went flawlessly. The gentleman at the gate was kind and very helpful. My site was overlooking the lake, so beautiful. The park was quiet and well maintained. The showers and restrooms were adequate and clean. I will definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone traveling to this area of Texas.

Pros: quiet and far from highways, very peaceful. Clean bathrooms and shower. Nothing fancy but comfortable.
No alligators!
Cons: even in cold weather way to many mosquitos.
I answered yes to the question "Would I camp here again?", but really it's a maybe because of the mosquitos. This was my first time camping in this part of Louisiana, didn't realize they would be so prevelent this time of year.

Some shaded sites and on the Colorado River. The hosts do an excellent job running the campground. Sites are nicely spaced. But if you are looking for a quiet, peaceful setting this is not the place for you. The Colorado River is a busy thoroughfare for boaters. Some of the boats are very loud. But it does quiet down at night.
The park is not far from Parker, AZ so you have easy access to shopping and water.
If you have a National Pass the price is only $2.50 per day. Nice!
