Confirmed by 5 users | Last reported on April 30, 2023Another great COE park. Our site was parallel to the lake so we had a perfect view from the front of our 5th wheel.
Water and electric with a dump station at the exit. Price was for a 50 amp site.
Beautiful park, nice calm lake, and was very quiet during the winter.
T-Mobile was 70 Mbps down and 21 Mbps up. Could easily work and stream as we pleased.

This Army Corp of Engineers Campground is a beautiful park with a 100 sites with most being electric/water/sewer hookups; sites are paved (though a little broken up in spots from the trees) and 10 foot wide and 45-50 foot long. Camp sites are configured in one-way loops (4); these sites are back-in pads, are all angled the right way so that big rigs should have an easy time backing in, at least I did. Our site was level on both axes and pads have an adjacent pea-gravel area with a picnic table on a concrete pad, a fire ring, grill, and a prep table next to grill. Site shade coverage varies, but I’d say the average is 70%, so much so that I couldn’t maintain a Sirius sat signal. Some sites are on the water’s edge of Wright Patman Lake and open to the sun/sky for satellite or solar.
On our loop (E) there’s a bathroom/shower centrally located. There is also a handicap restroom/shower that is accessible by vehicle or a concrete paved path. Central dumpster area is between loop D and B. Sites are beautifully tree-lined and, as stated before, shaded.
Camp Host is stationed at the entry gate and is very friendly and helpful. Gate closes in the evening and campers are given an access code
Our site was 30amp electric, which was clean and stable, 123vac 60hz, water and sewer.
There’s also a beautiful, new and properly built and configured double-lane central dump station near the entrance to the campground.
All interior roads are paved, amply wide and easily navigable. There are multiple boat ramps and miles of roads to walk and bike. The park is home to squirrels, deer, various wild birds, poisonous and non- poisonous snakes.
Texarkana is about 10 miles NE and has everything you could need.
We’d come back in a heart beat.

This well-maintained Corps of Engineers campground was a reasonable stopover while traveling through the area. We had no trouble making reservations for a Friday and Saturday night. We stayed in early March and the park was about half filled on both weekend nights.
The campground appears to have been refurbished recently (we stayed in March 2017) and sites were clean and nicely spaced. Our reservations were for a full hook-up site, but when we checked in to the campground, we were informed that their sewer system was broken. We were given an electric and water site and refunded the price difference. Because of the sewer issue, the bath house closest to our site was closed. We had strong A&T and Verizon signals. The only downsides seem to be its location in Texarkana. There was a significant lack of nearby amenities and a super-strong stinky smell that seemed to emanate from the many nearby paper mills.

We have a 31’ Class A with slide outs. There was plenty of room and we had room for a tow vehicle in front of the pad. Nice concrete picnic table, charcoal grill, fire ring and a high wood table for fish cleaning. Very nice tree cover and shade. We had water, sewer and 30 amp. The 50 amp sites were under water due to high water. Great boat launch with swimming platform about 20 yards out from the bank. Well mowed and cleared, clean.

I arrived after dark and had no idea what view I would awake to in the morning. It was a fantastic, beautiful lake with large flocks of geese and ducks. (The cabins in front of my site are dotted around the lake and have perfect views too.) Even being there in November, the visual feast is worth every penny. I'd love to come back with a canoe because floating around this lake would be so peaceful.

I love this park. The bathroom was a bit of a hike but I was aware of that when I picked a primitive site of which I was the only camper. It was quiet. The bathroom/ shower was very clean. The attendants who got me taken care of gave treats to my dog and were so nice.

This is an Army Corp of Engineers campground, and as such is a beautifully maintained lakeside location. Our stay was in February and the place was nearly empty which was a nice treat. Add to that my National Parks Annual Pass card gave me a 50% discount. Sites in the D and E area are 30 amp (though there are 22 sites with 50amp) F/H and well spaced with asphalt pads. All are back-in. The roads in will accommodate the largest rigs with no problem. Each site includes a picnic table, BBQ grill and utility table. There's a boat launch and lake swimming as well. Would definitely return. I'm reporting T-Mobile 4G LTE at one bar on my phone. However my cellular data hotspot with MiMo antenna is getting 21mbps download and 3.5mbps upload. More than adequate for video streaming and Internet usage.

Arrived on a Saturday night to loud music and a couple of local sherifs circling the main campground, apparently to keep things from getting out of hand. By Sunday evening, the park had cleared out a lot and local law enforcement moved on.
The main loops with both sewer and electric+water fill up on the weekends. The spots long the lake don't have sewer, but do have water and power, and stay full up even during the week. The loops without sewer but with water and electric stayed mostly empty. Those would be the spots to take if you want fewer and quieter neighbors. One loop was closed because of flooding (high water level in the lake) which has just water and power. They would be nice if open though have few fewer trees so you'll be watching your neighbor's whether you intend to or not.
Cell service was mediocre. While our Verizon phone has one or two bars, or three with a booster, the speeds were often unusable. ATT service was better, with more consistent bars and with better speeds.
So, much better than a commercial park, and only 15 minutes to town.
Note that coming in from the north there is a complicated railroad crossing that would be best avoided, as other reviews note.

We arrived at this COE campground 177 days after making reservations and were greeted by friendly camp hosts.
Level D loop site with sewer hook-up at the rear of parking pad, so bring your loooooooooong stinky slinky!
Our FHU site was spacious but weirdly laid out that had our fire pit just two feet from the neighbor's sewer hookup. Who designs these sites?!?!
Heavy-duty concrete picnic table and a bar-height wooden prep table next to a BBQ grill, or as we saw many using it as a fish cleaning table.
No vegetation between campsites in the D & E loops.
Very clean park!
Since our four-night stay was during the week, it was extremely quiet, with no road noise, with more than half of the campsites vacant.
At 6am we experienced a no-warning total power outage throughout the park for nearly 3 hours.
Wildlife viewing was only a couple of deer at dusk
