Dump has signs that it is out of order. Called store and was told that it is to be repaired. Given past review from November it appears that no one is in a hurry.

This is a very nice and spacious dump across from the Cocopah Casino. Easiest entry is from the street at the traffic light, which is beside the fuel station, then take the second exit. The dump is on the southwest corner of the large lot. The dump is locked and you get the key from the cashier. The dump is free with purchase of 25 gallon of fuel. If you stay at the casino RV parking across the street you can show them your display tag for free dump as well. Otherwise it is $10. The cashier could not confirm if the water spigot was potable, so we used as rinse water.

The small campground also has a very large open field that Gary the owner allows boondocking for $10 a night. That is exactly what we wanted but the the FHU sites were full anyway.

Gary the owner is very friendly and responsive. You can basically park anywhere in the fields or a gravel area near the road. They have FHU for $35 a night. Very quite and safe. Have water and a dump but did not see them, but did not need.

I realize that the Maverick Station in Vernal has a free dump, but this one is so easy to use and has good facilities. The flush water and potable water are separate spigots. There are even nitrile gloves in the pay box. It is convenient to Hwy 40 on the east side of Vernal.

Beautiful area to spend some time. It is much cooler than locations farther south due to over 8,000 ft. elevation. Plenty of spaces for any size rig. Road scraper from forest service came by twice while we were there so road in good shape. Looked at several other boondocking locations in the area and this one was the best in our opinion. During the holiday weekend there were groups with numerous OHVs but we expected that. We had a site that we could not see anyone else so it was good for us. Verizon is very poor, even boosted. If we were to return, we might look for a place closer to the beautiful Flaming Gorge.

The pros: A beautiful peaceful setting on a nice lake in the country. It is very easy to backin to your site and though the sites slope downhill it is easy for a fifth wheel. Our site had 50 amp electric and water. There is a dump station at the end of the row on the left. Communication was good by phone and payment is an honor system with red drop box at the end of the street.

The cons: Our hookups were on the wrong side of the site and the water faucet had no knob, so we ended up using pliers to access the water. Dump station slopes downhill away from the drain so you can’t completely empty your tanks.

As others have stated this is a wonderful place to park. We had a nice sunny spot for solar with great mountain views but there are plenty of shaded areas if you don’t want the sun. Our Verizon signal was very strong and could stream whatever we wanted.

The dirt roads in general were good but there are some deep ruts that you have to be careful. We chose an alternative route when we left our site to avoid some rough areas.

This place is no secret and there are many rigs here. We were surprised at how many people leave their rigs here and return days later. We could see five rigs from our spot that had no occupants. Surprisingly our spot was quite and peaceful.

The closest dump station is closed and the Henry’s Lake State Park dump is also closed for the season. We were able to get water fill at the Valley View RV Park, but no dump. The closest dump is probably Grizzly RV in West Yellowstone.

Nearby Robins Roost grocery is surprisingly affordable for this type of area. Fuel at various stations is very expensive.

The A and B loops can be reserved and there is a C loop that is first-come. There were few spots on the C loop that we could fit. Loop B has a good many larger sites that our fifth wheel could accommodate. The hosts in the mornings put out “one night only” signs on the posts on loops A and B to allow campers to stay in those sites for the night and use the self-registration box. Found out that many campers choose to “no show” in this campground instead of canceling. There are many empty spots each night that are “reserved”. Turns out that with the senior rate it is actually cheaper to “no show” than to cancel your reservation.

The campground has no dump or RV water fill. There are flush bathrooms, water spigots, and dumpsters at each. The nearby town of Vernal has at least two dump stations.

It was nice to camp next to the Green River and the area in general is beautiful. If you have time, the Harper’s Corner road and trail are wonderful. Also the 12 mile dirt road to Echo Park to see the Steamboat Rock is worth doing.

Paid senior rate of $9.

In June, it can be hot and we decided to stay only two days and go find locations with higher elevation.

Nice park with easy entrance and exit. Wanted full hookups for a couple of days after a week of boondocking. The grounds are very nice grassy areas that they frequently water. Rigs park on gravel with nice sunset mountain views. The laundry has only two washers so it could be crowded. Staff very friendly. Online booking has a $10 option to guarantee your exact spot number which we did not choose. Park full each night.

As others have said this is a wonderful campground that must be a well kept secret. The A and C loops are equestrian, the B loop does not allow horses. That being said there were only four other campers in the 43 site campground and no horses on a June weekend. It is very convenient to the North Unit of Theodore Roosevelt NP. Good Verizon. Dry camping. No trash dumpster. Hand pump water. Vault toilets. Large picnic pavilion. Friendly host. Self pay. It is $5 with pass.

We camped at site 31 which has great views and big horn sheep can be seen with binoculars on the mountains behind your camper at sunset. The sites are spread out and most sites will accommodate any size rig. If there was a lot of rain the campground would be muddy.

There are several trailheads at the campground including the Maah Daah Hey, Sunset, and Long X Trails.

The Little Missouri River which separates the campground from the national park is apparently the line for Central and Mountain Time zones. The North Unit of the TRNP is Central, but everything south including the South Unit of TRNP is Mountain Time. Your phones will be confused.
