Confirmed by 2 users | Last reported on July 06, 2020Just south of Columbia, SC. If you need a place to get off the road in the area this is it. Just 2 miles off I-26, Exit 139. Pull in, water and electric hook ups. In the morning drop money in the box, empty out the holding tanks and a small comfort station. It is basically run on the honor system. This place is an old farm set up for out of state campers needing a place to pull over. You don’t have to call and make reservations, just show up and park. SIMPLE!

Called when we got to the CG. The person who answered the phone couldn't tell us if we could drive down to the office and pay and then turn around to get to our site. Felt like we were an inconvenience. So we wound up Parking and then walking almost a half a mile down and back. Tough for us disabled folk. Sites are NOT level. Cell reception was good on Verizon. Power was Good. Water pressure was good. The park was quiet. The scenery was peaceful and the lake was nice.
TIP: There is a single lane road leading down to the office building where you will see the dump site is located off to the left. The road goes around the CG office building allowing for a turn around. There are envelopes and a sign-in notebook left on the table to sign in and leave your fee in the red collection box.

You can actually hear birds and learn each ones calling . I saw pure red birds , blue & brown birds , wood peckers , finches, blackbirds & falcons over the left side across the lake and over on the right edge past the road . It’s like sharing the family’s paradise they live in when you come here . It confirmed how I want to get a ranch but now I’m sure I want a lake too . The big shady trees make the grounds easy to enjoy . The donkeys are so sweet .
So quiet every morning, great internet, so clean & well kept .

The sign at the entrance states that the campground is for out of state residents only. After after driving through the entrance there is a sign that says to choose a site on the left and pay at the gray brick building ahead. So we parked and set up then went down to the building to pay. The sign said $40 and to deposit the money in the provided box. No one was there to collect the money. There was also a notebook to register your name, address etc. The site was water and electric only. Dump station near the office. Thought it was a bit pricey considering it was an “on your honor” system. We did see a woman in a car drive in and down to the office in the morning but she did not even wave. So not sure if she worked there or not. A bit strange but a nice place for one night. Not far off of the interstate, maybe 2 miles.

The pros: A beautiful peaceful setting on a nice lake in the country. It is very easy to backin to your site and though the sites slope downhill it is easy for a fifth wheel. Our site had 50 amp electric and water. There is a dump station at the end of the row on the left. Communication was good by phone and payment is an honor system with red drop box at the end of the street.
The cons: Our hookups were on the wrong side of the site and the water faucet had no knob, so we ended up using pliers to access the water. Dump station slopes downhill away from the drain so you can’t completely empty your tanks.

The pros: A beautiful peaceful setting on a nice lake in the country. It is very easy to backin to your site and though the sites slope downhill it is easy for a fifth wheel. Our site had 50 amp and 30 amp electric and water. There is a dump station at the end of the row on the left. Communication was good by phone and payment is an honor system with red drop box at the end of the street. Very quiet setting great for stop over nothing fancy but its safe and short drive to main highway 26.
The cons: Our hookups were on the wrong side of the site. Have to check electrical box before u back in some dont work " Burned connection". Dump station slopes downhill away from the drain so you can’t completely empty your tanks.
