Great park but the dump station could use some attention and possibly another station added. Stayed here mid October 2023 and discovered the dump station flush water has no hose fitting. It is only meant for rinsing your hoses. Good luck getting a proper dump/ flush of your system with no water to hook up to. The hose itself needed replacing as it has a hole in it spraying water everywhere like a sprinkler. Not a pleasant experience.

Stayed at Mama Gertie’s around Memorial Day 2022 on a mountain top site. The road up is a bit tight and winding but plenty of rigs about 32 feet or less were camped out at the top. We made it just fine but our rig is a 1500 lb teardrop camper pulled with a Chevy Traverse. The views up top are wonderful with public landing / balconies available to soak in the sunsets each day. The bath house facilities were clean and well kept. T-mobile Home Internet signal was strong and connection was fast. Very close to the exit off I-40 and near Black Mountain. Both Asheville and Lake Lure were within a reasonably short drive. The only down side to this place is needing to arrive in the daylight hours. It’s so they can guide you up the narrow mountain road to your site but limits the arrival time options for those that would arrive right around dusk. The camp store has the essentials as well as a wrap around porch with a few games the kids might enjoy on it. Some of the sites lower on the mountain were near a babbling brook. Looking forward to staying here again soon.

Camped at Hunting Island State Park in June 2022. Overall the experience was pleasant. The site was clean and ready to go upon our arrival. The bath house is a little bit strange here. There are two bath stalls located behind a door with a shared bench between the stalls. It is a little bit weird and doesn't feel comfortable going in behind a closed door to use the 2nd shower. This design could use some updating. Overall the bathroom facilities were clean. T-Mobile data coverage via our T-Mobile Home Internet gateway was non-working. I tried both inside and outside the RV and the modem just could not pick up a signal at this park during our stay. We do not use any external antennas or boosters with the T-Mobile data service. We do not have T-Mobile phones so it's possible phone coverage is available here but my review is only for data via 4G / 5G devices. Verizon data coverage was available but slow. Plenty of trails available although I wish more of them were paved for biking and not just hiking. Overall we had a pleasant stay here and plan to return again next year.

Enjoyed this quiet campground during our stay in early August. We camped on site 19 with our teardrop camper. The site was roomy although setting up an extra tent was a bit of a challenge due to the ground being very rock and huge bolders buried just a couple of inches under the ground. Electric hookup was available and both 30 amp and 20 amp service worked well during our stay. Putting in ground stakes to anchor things down was challenging on this site. The shower and bathroom facilities were nice and clean. Maybe a little on the small side for the size of the campground but it was not at capacity during our stay. Campground also had volleyball nets, basketball court, and cornhole available. Verizon 4G LTE was available but service was pretty slow being on an MVNO (Visible Wireless). Less than 1 MBps up and down during our stay unless very late at night and early in the morning. Raccoons are abundant here and they worked very hard to take our food in the middle of the night. Sometimes brave enough to come within 5 feet of me at night trying to get into our cooler while i was reading beside it. Secure your things well and you'll be fine.

Stayed here is early August 2020 at site 59. We camped with both a teardrop camper and a sent for our kids. Many of the sites here have platforms and tiered levels. When we arrived we were disappointed thinking there was no where level to pitch a tent but soon discovered a tiered platform higher up on the site that was large for a 10 x 10 tent to set up. The 30 amp and 20 amp service worked well during our stay. The site was nice and level. Parking is a bit chaotic here as many vehicles were parked barely off the already narrow roadway. Setting up a larger rig might be a bit of a challenge backing into the site with the cars in the way. Our teardrop fits into tight spaces so it worked out. Restroom facilities were clean. Maybe a bit small for a campground of this size but it's possible there were more than 1 that we did not see on our short 2 night stay. Verizon 4G LTE at site 059 was not available. In fact Verizon service was very spotty no matter where we were in the camground. We were able to pick up a few local tv stations out of Arkansas without much trouble with our tv antenna. I would definitely come back here as the price, cleanliness and proximity to Table Rock Lake could not be beat. The campground was pretty busy during our stay but even being busy the quiet hours were respected at night and it was very peaceful and quiet.

Stayed in sites loop B sites in the 90+ range. Many sites were on slopes. Side to side leveling was not bad but front to back leveling needed lots of adjustment. Bathroom house near these sites were vault toilets and pretty disgusting. Sewer flies everywhere in the bathroom. Thankfully we were fully contained so other than a quick trip to the bathroom after we tore down camp it wasn’t a huge issue for us. T-mobile Home Internet had a weak signal here (2 bars) but managed to provide 5 - 10 Mbps download and 1 Mbps upload speed. Starlink speeds were great but finding a site with minimal tree cover can be a challenge in this loop near these sites. Sites were larger than many of the more popular Indiana State Parks. We were able to set up two campers, two clam tents, and lay out our large RV rug with plenty of room to spare on our sites in between our camping buddies.

Stayed at Old Highway 86 October’23. The bathroom and shower facilities were clean and maintained well during our stay. Site was pretty level only requiring about a 1/2 inch adjustment on our Anderson leveling wedges. Only one minor gripe about this place and it might be just an COE gripe…. They are very strict on outside tents. They even count screen room (pop up clam shelter) as a tent. We haven’t had a problem at other COE parks but this one would not allow an RV, sleeping tent, and screen shelter all on the same site. We were strongly encouraged by the camp host to take down the screen shelter to avoid issues with COE managers. Wouldn’t stop me from coming back but was extra work so don’t even try it here. Another gripe is there really needs to be a 2nd dump station added for a campground this size. They also do now have flush water with a hose hookup at the single dump station. This is probably to speed up the dump process but it caused an extra stop on the way home for a proper sanitation flush dump of the black tank. Removed 1 star for lackluster rv dump.

First time camping with our new teardrop camper. We stayed on site 081 which is right near the entrance to the campground. Site was small but since we have a tiny camper it was perfect. We were able to fit our teardrop with 12 ft awning extended plus have room to set up a pen for our dogs and shower / porta potty tent. We camped opening weekend as the state parks were closed for Covid-19. Due to the pandemic the bathrooms were closed and campground porta potties were the only provided toilet option. We chose to use our own porta potty most of the time. The shower houses were open and clean. Verizon offered very good connectivity at site 081 with 4G speeds (on memorial day weekend with a full campground) topping out at 15 down and 2 up most of the time. We are Verizon pre-paid (Visible Wireless) so you may have even faster speeds on post paid with better network priority.

We were looking for a spot within a couple hours of home to relax and do a trial run on working remotely. This campground was one of the few that fit our requirements and it was a pleasant surprise. The location is right in the town of Delphi being just a short 3 - 4 minute drive to the downtown area. There are only 4 full hookup sites here with the camp host, Roger, occupying one of them. When we arrived Roger greeted us and gave the run down of the few standard campground rules that we expected. He gave us a map and breakdown of the trail system and let us know good dining options in town. Our site was 50 / 30 / 20 amp electric, water, and sewer. The site was quite large accommodating our 25ft travel trailer with tow vehicle with no problem. We set up a couple of camp rugs and our clam screen room with plenty of site to spare. The nearest cell tower is visible from the campground. T-mobile Home Internet 3 bars “Good” signal quality, Starlink had no obstruction, and Verizon had 3 bars. T-mobile performed about 30 Mbps down and 5 - 10 Mbps during most hours. Starlink had similar speeds. There are many attractions here that appear to be volunteer run so hours may be short but their is a museum and several historic out buildings to explore all tied into canal history surrounding the Delphi community.

Had a great weekend trip here in June 2023. Sites were very level with a small gravel base. Nights were peaceful and quiet. Banks are steep to the water but there is a boat launch. T-mobile Home Internet signal was weak but usable during our stay on sites 127 & 128 usually averaging 2 bars and 20 Mbps down and 3 - 5 Mbps up. Starlink was unusable on those sites due to tree cover.
