“2,382 acres park”
Turkey Run State Park has what you've been needing. Explore it and see how Indiana was shaped by ancient forces. You'll discover ancient Indiana's remains. Many old growth trees exist in the park. A walk into one of the ravines takes you on a trip through time, for the sandstone gorges represent 600 to 300 million years of nature's handiwork.
It is a great place for a family or a youth group field trip. There are several trails throughout the park ranging in length and difficulty and hiking these makes for a nice day trip. However, if you are looking for some rugged terrain, not the best place to go. Their one, "very rugged" trail wasn't to difficult to tackle and was mainly rugged due to it's climbing through small "canyons" carved out by creeks.
Very nice place. Large enough for large RV's also or cozy enough for the woodsy outdoors.
Our family LOVED this park! We hiked trail #3–it’s absolutely beautiful. Waterproof shoes would have been helpful but not absolutely necessary.
We were surprised to see that the park has a very nice lap pool and splash pad area. We didn’t have time to check it out but it looked really nice.
Very nice state park
This park is amazing! It's pretty darn rugged for Indiana! In fact my husband says it makes him forget that we're IN Indiana! Gorgeous scenery. Great trails. We love it and have driven the hour and a half to get there several times since we found it!
