This was our first overnight at a Cracker Barrel. We called ahead and were instructed to find one of the RV/Bus sites and make ourselves to home.

Our car and 18 foot trailer fit fine with maybe 10-12 feet to spare. Not sure where anything over maybe 40-45 feet total might be in trouble. Semis were parked across the street on the side of the road. Didn’t track them for overnight stays.

Obviously there was traffic noise when the restaurant was open, and some from I-95. We were 2-300 yards from the later.

Breakfast with coffee for two and tip $30.00. Cheaper than any commercial or SP campground in Florida We’ve seen in years.

In sum about what we expected.

We have spent the night here numerous times on our way north out of Florida. It is a good days drive from our home.

Facilities are clean and well kept. Restrooms were updated a few years ago. Sites are flat and drainage is good for this part of the world. Roads and sites are gravel/sand.

Some campgrounds serve more as a place to spend the night while visiting nearby attractions than being a camping experience, this is one. The creekside location was wonderful but the sites, by necessity, are close and can be challenging to get into. It is close to the highway but the traffic was minimal during the night. We enjoyed the sound of the water, it added was a plus.

It is a short distance to attractions and dining in town. The Dollar General and a couple of convenience stores are the sources for basic supplies.

There is no on site office but one of the two owners seems to be on call at all times and respond quickly. Verify both their phone numbers when making a reservation and the location of utilities in your site. Site 13B shares a sewer connection and the owners had to loan us hose to reach it. Note there are no restrooms or other common facilities.

We hope to cycle the Virginia Creeper Trail again someday and would stay at Laurel Creek again to do it.

This is one of the nicest, best kept KOAs we have stayed in. We have in fact been here several times and the staff is always friendly, courteous, and helpful. Most sites are typical KOA fare, rows with fairly close spacing. Historically our gravel sites have been reasonably level allowing us to stay hitched up during one night stops. All areas are well maintained. Each site gravel separated by grass and trees limiting the parking lot feeling. Loved the clean restrooms. Little traffic noise.

During a recent 3 night stay we were by happenstance put in one of the half dozen grassy pond side sites. Ideal for a small trailer like ours. We will request these for future stays. They have water and electric only. Our photos show this site.

We observed the spacing seemed adequate for the big rigs to navigate easily Generally speaking the seasonal campers and their collected equipment and decorations are located in a separate area in the rear of the facility which we like.

We noted there is no cable. The location is close enough to Rochester there should be ample broadcast stations available. The WI-FI was strong, performance was appropriate to the time of day and number of campers.

There are many things to keep kids busy. The little cafe served good food, excellent ice cream, and was a fun venue.

We stayed for two nights while visiting friends in The Villages and for this purpose it fits.

We were in the front area which is paved roads with grass, dirt (not sand) sites. If lucky you get a concrete patio and/or a lightly used site without muddy ruts. Fortunately it didn’t rain while we stayed. It would be soft and muddy. Really needs gravel for parking. Otherwise a flat herring bone parking lot with no shade.

Well maintained with a friendly staff. Will stay again to visit friends.

We stay here on a regular basis as it is ideal days drive for us from our home in south Florida. Nice that it is treed to breakup the appearance of being a parking lot. However slash pines don't provide a lot of shade or privacy. Will say that site 2 is better than average on this. Site fit us well with our 18' trailer.

We did have to use our Anderson Leveler and unhitch for fore-aft leveling. Rate is for full hookups before member discount. This keeps rising and is really pushing it. We assume this is based on location, it's the only reason we will return. For this price some gravel or even pavement would be appropriate.

We were advised at checkin the restrooms are open but some are being renovated and are a "little rough at the moment". We didn't explore this. Others below have commented on the condition of the restrooms. They seem to be listening.

We passed on the free breakfast this time. We've done it in the past and it was ok. Lots of kids on a Saturday and we were not in the mood for the circus this usually result in at a free breakfast bar. We have also done the pizza in the past. It was good and would order again but we are trying to clean out the leftovers in the fridge.

Hey, it is KOA.

A typical commercial campground with back in perpendicular parking. Spacing was acceptable with enough grass between spaces to make it acceptable. Our site, and apparently most, had a concrete patio large enough for the included picnic table and few RiVer supplied folding chairs. Gravel drive for car and trailer. It looked big rig friendly. The amount of shade available varies considerably between sites. We had to ask for a fire ring. Staff addressed this quickly. Staff was great and helpful.

Like a lot of campgrounds in Florida there were obviously a lot of permanent campers, many flown north for the summer this time of year. We assume this is why the sewer hook up was poor for a quick and secure hook up. There was a lot of small trash in the site: wrappers, caps, straws, etc. They need to do maintenance on sites between occupants.

We didn't use the restrooms.

We were in the area to visit relatives. Not far to the beaches and things to do.

Road noise and trains can be heard in the distance.

This was our second stay in this campground and will stay again. As the last last reviewer stated I'd consider a seasonal site here. Sites along the river look great. It's quiet and well kept. Owner is friendly and extremely helpful. Short term sites are water and electric only. Likely very tight if the place were ever full.

Due to low usage grass was growing well so things weren't muddy despite the rainy day. Might soft at times.

Yes, there is road noise but paid much for a worse site with more noise.

NOTE: Cash or check only!!

In a nutshell can’t complain, and would stay again if in Duluth. All the listed amenities are here as promised but they are tired and need TLC except the restrooms and laundry. At the prices charged some fresh gravel where appropriate to improve drainage, mowing grass more frequently including actually trimming, and straightening the utility posts would give it all a better feel. The rate shown is for full hookups.

None of the sites have a water view as best we could determine. Some sites have shade. It was a pleasant environment to sit with friends.

We’re traveling with friends and had to pressure a bit to get the adjoining sites we were promised when we made reservations in January. Ours was a quiet mid week stay. Little to no traffic noise. An occasional train horn in the distance.

Note that of the over 70 sites advertised only 7 are full hookups. The rest are about equally divided between water/electric, electric only, and no service tent sites.

We just got back from spending 2 nights at Tomoka and really enjoyed the stay. One way to classify Florida state park campgrounds is snowbird RV approved or a local family campground. Tomoka is much more the later. It does seem to be a fisherman’s and/or kayakers paradise. We visited the camp store and found it well stocked with the basics, including beer.

While close the sites are private side to side due to the dense brush a real plus. Sites are sandy and seemed to drain well when it rained. Road is sand, twisty (don’t cut the oak tree go around), and bumpy with some deeper holes. Some low hanging branches. These conditions combined with the road being narrow and sites not always angled well for backing up indicates big rigs will have problems. Most rigs seemed to be well under 30 feet. We felt very at home at 18 feet.

Water and electric were good. Dump station was very accessible although sandy. Restrooms were well kept and clean. They did their best to control the sand.

As others have mentioned the drive outside the gate south to Ormond Beach is a beautiful tree tunnel through the park, 4-5 miles at 35 mph. Dinner at Hull's, very good.
