Level concrete pad with 30A electric available at the building's loading dock. This is not meant to be an rv park exactly, but worked really well as one! This is a shooting range that has open fields for boondocking and a concrete pad/loading dock area near water and 30A electrical that worked great for our needs. We could have boondocked, the weather was cool enough over memorial day weekend to do so - in fact, overnight the temps got quite low! In the 50s! It was very nice. Cows around make themselves known and are clearly not all that accustomed to many people around. They were curious about us through the fence line although they were not at all bothered by sounds of guns. Frogs at night from the nearby pond serenaded us off to sleep with the windows open.

This is a destination RV parking setup and less of a build a campfire, go hiking in the state park forest kind of park although some others were fishing in the pond while we were here. The reason you come here is to shoot on their many gun ranges (180 acres), the RV park area is a bonus. The ranges are well laid out, easy to move between with great covered areas and are well maintained, both the facilities and the ranges. Both are very clean and nicely outfitted. There is one range that allows tactical (rapid fire etc) shooting, a dedicated 25 yard pistol range and a 100 yard rifle range. Good shooting benches on the rifle range. Nice pro shop. At the moment due to the ammo shortage they are unable to rent out their weapons but normally do rentals and ammo sales. There are tall berms between ranges and between the range area and the RV parking area and outside communities to dampen the sound of the gunfire. There is a restroom available inside the pro shop during business hours (8-5).

The distance to the electric connection was a bit far from the loading dock - an extension cord around the corner of the fence to the electrical connection box worked just fine, but plan on needing a longer electrical cord. It was so nice to have electrical here because we expected not to have it at all. Water connection reasonably close in the dock area and accessible. We needed both of our 25 ft water lines to reach it, but that is the case at many parks too because of where our water connects.

We are harvest host members, so we paid $20 for the electric/water, camped free as HH and bought three day passes for $25 each for the shooting range. They also offer water/electric hookups and rv camping to the public for $40 and dry camping for $20, not only for harvest host members.

So worth it and we will be back!

Helpful host, very friendly staff and comprehensive shooting ranges.

There is a tight turn in when you come from the south (we did not but another rig did).

Cell service was not great out here but minimally usable. AT&T - 2-13 Mbps with 2 Mbps speed upload , Sprint 2-4 Mbps with .5 upload speed, Verizon 1-2 Mbps with barely usable upload speed, T-mobile 1-3 Mbps with .5-1.5 Mbps upload speed. This is not a place we would probably camp during the work week if remote working for several night or a week stay unless we were relying on our AT&T signal which was the fastest of the providers. You come here more to be outside and enjoy the shooting ranges but can also get basic connectivity for google searches, trip routing, calls and basic emails. You can't stream Netflix here or do intensive remote working but for basic phone and computer functions the cellular internet connection was good enough. We did not see any open wifi connections from the campground/pro shop/range here, nor did we ask if there were any.

This was a great experience and the RV area when we paid for hookups was perfect for our needs.

What a great campground. Just outside of green bay by about 15 minutes, this location is isolated and rural but still close to town. Good hiking trails (well marked), great new bath houses with bathrooms and individual shower rooms with separate exterior doors. Well maintained with good gravel spaces. We had 30 amp and water/electric only but the bath houses were really ideal both in terms of location and cleanliness/maintenance. Hiking trails were fun to explore - animal tracks are abundant. Lots of biking. So dark at night and there are many stars visible. The park is well treed and close to the zoo. We will be back to this location as our preferred GB spot. It's also very close to our favorite little Green Bay deluxe grilled cheese place, the 888 cheese company at Lineville and 41.

Starlink had great service, between 10-100/5-50 depending on the moment. Tmobile home internet gateway got consistent connection, saying that it was getting a "good" signal (3 bars) and speeds of between 3-12/2-5.

We enjoyed this campground, Simple, no fuss space with 400+ sites in total. Nearby train but no issues with noise except a low rumble. Rumble from nearby industrial air conditioners as well but not bothersome, just a low hum.

Tmobile speeds on home internet was exceptional at 500/100mbps. Full hookups in the east campground. Great shade for us with 2 big trees. Only 7-8 other campers in the entire park while we were there. Sewer connections are weirdly located but at least they have them. Enjoyed our stay and would stay again.

There are many things to like about this park. If you need to be near Alvin, you are super close but also not too close in to the city. Quick trips to pickup groceries or grab food from restaurants are very easy from here. The park has around 45 or so spaces. Many are full with fulltime residents. Lots of children play here, in a good kind of way. It’s nice to see kids enjoying the outdoors and being kids, not cooped up with video games all day. The stars at night are big and bright here.

The laundry area is well done, with great machines that worked every time we used them ($2 wash, $1.50 dry). The bathrooms are some of the best I have seen, with beautifully tiled showers and décor that you can tell someone put their heart and careful eye into. The park has a homey feel and less of a corporate big RV park vibe.

They also seem to be in a constant state of improvement. For instance, while we were here the wifi got upgraded antennas and our speeds doubled. I saw the owner laying down new gravel in a couple of temporarily empty spaces with his tractor and resetting a swing the kids play on. The new driveway gate at the front was not yet locked/closed when we first got here but after many days of seeing workmen here, they got it working and now the property is gated.

The caretakers and the owners love their facility and try to make it a good place. There are so many things about this location that I wanted so hard to like it overall, but there were issues as well.

Areas that were a bit challenging:
1. The Sewer connections are extremely high up. This makes it hard to drain tanks. We resituated ours four times during our stay and kept having issues. Most people who are fulltime here built wooden supports to drain theirs, which solves the problem. If they are going to be that high, perhaps having something like that available on each site would be good. We used leveling blocks and made a temporary wooden support, but not everyone has wood with them or concrete leveling blocks/cinder blocks to lift the hose that much. Our usual sewer support just was not high enough at all to do the job.

2. Cell phone towers near here are a bit odd. We got signal on Verizon/visible, tmobile, sprint and AT&T at all times. But the speeds were variable between so slow as to be unusable (.1-.5) to sluggish at 2-3 Mbps to usable at 5+. Hard to tell why, honestly. Fog and rain seemed to cause issues with the cell tower speeds but again, never completely lost signal. Sometimes the booster helped and sometimes it did not at all. Sometimes on each carrier we got .5-2 Mbps, often 2-4 and sometimes 5-20 on the same carrier at similar times of day. This is not something they can control but is something to consider if you really need a strong cell signal. We bonded/balanced our different lte connections using Speedify, along with a connection to their wifi and were able to get good signal all the time, no issues. Their wifi started out in the 2-3 range when we got here and when we left (after they worked on the wifi and improved it with better antennas) we were getting 5-6 Mbp/s, which is quite reasonable for park wifi. Their wifi was also inconsistent, flaky or losing the full connection sometimes.

3. The speed limit inside the park is 5mph and is very strictly enforced. You wouldn’t think that was a big deal, but it was actually a challenge to drive that slow. Even with my foot off the gas completely, many times my truck would hit a bump and pick up speed to 6-8, causing me to have to brake regularly in the park. 10 or even 15mph have been my experience in other places. I was fussed at by one of the caretakers when I went 10 in the first few days I was here without realizing it was 5mph and when I was sheepish and apologized and said I was sorry, I had not seen the signs he became frustrated with me and exasperatedly started pointing at the signs and told me he didn’t want to deal with phone calls from parents of kids who live here because I didn’t see the signs. I apologized again, told him I saw them now and he calmed down and was somewhat friendly to me in the future. Just know that the park really revolves around the families that live here, and their kids.

4.To that point, the vast majority of people at this park live here. These are not seasonal sites at an RV resort or campground where snowbirds stay for a few months, these are fulltime residents. For a lot of people, this is home much like an apartment building but with more space for kids to roam. It’s hard to fit their kids’ strollers and all their things into a camper or even a 5th wheel, so the stuff overflows outside. Sometimes big time. Some residents come and go late at night, probably coming in from late shift jobs usually. They aren’t always quiet when they do. Not enough to complain about, but enough to notice. Some of the fulltimers were very willing to share their complaints about the park with us, including some of the same things that we mention above, especially about the internet.

5. I only saw one picnic table in the park. It would be nice to have small tables either at each site or available to be moved to the sites, depending on space. We bought a folding table we will use in other places and it was nice here sometimes to sit outside.

Overall, it is a good park. Between the fulltimer environment and the issues with the septic and internet speeds it's really not for us.

Amazing sunrise and sunset on the beach, waves crashing as white noise and privacy!

Wonderful beach setting! Beautiful location, good weather, dumpsters and portapotties nearby but that might have been due to the triathlon going on that weekend -- might not be always. We slept great, had a wonderful campfire each night and enjoyed the views, the animals, the water and the beach.

Signal/connection was fantastic. The cell tower to the far east, close to Beach Access 5 was able to pull 512 Mbp/s on a 5G Tmobile phone when we were close to it. We parked between 4 and 5 and we usually got signal in the range of 80-100 on Tmobile, 20-80 on Verizon, 1-10 on Sprint and 20-40 on AT&T. No connection issues at all.

New park, maybe open 18 months when we were here. Gorgeous showers, bathrooms and laundry was perfect. Lovely little shaded spot to sit near the field and enjoy the sunset or work from the great outdoors. Their wifi seemed to be a free 5mb option but cell service worked great too. Verizon on a Galaxy s21 ultra was 100-150/20-35. I didn't test all our hotspots, but they all worked great. The cell tower is visible on the farm or the school property that is adjacent to this park, so cell service works fine as well as their wifi.

We will be back here. This was such a great spot, lovely owners and we highly recommend this park.

We were in the area, wanted to learn about storage at the park for Rvs and about potentially staying for an extended stay in the future so we stopped by to ask questions. Nice park, concrete pads, well managed, easy access, good roads, beautiful pool area, appears to be a nice laundry and restroom area near the office. Nice camp store/office - guests and staff hanging out together in a very friendly kind of way. Decorated for Halloween - they seem to take pride in and also have fun at their facility.

Ran tmobile home internet speed test while we were there and found good coverage. Only 3 bars, but found excellent tmhi 5g speeds - average 90 down/30 up towards the pool area. AT&T 4g hotspot has decent enough coverage as a backup (10/1.5 is what we got). Cellular service on tmobile was not quite as strong as tmhi, but it was absolutely usable. The tmhi modem seems to get better signal sometimes (at other places too) than phones.

The park has wifi, which we did not test but the manager told us it is fiber coming into the park, but of course wireless signals can get congested anywhere even when you have a strong backbone coming in. The cell service at this location is good enough though that you wouldn't *have* to depend on the park's wifi. We didn't have a verizon device with us at that moment, but the manager said verizon and at&t have been their strongest, but tmobile reported putting in a new tower recently.

We are on our way out on a long trip but are likely to use their covered storage with electrical when we get back and maybe stay for a month or so before putting our RV into storage.

Probably the best maintained and highest quality campground we have ever stayed at.

Wifi was 160-200Mbps on phones and laptop, for upload and download. Cell service was reasonably fast as well, but maybe a bit overloaded on those towers because the upload was faster than the download speed, usually indicating a congested tower. Not unexpected right by a casino but we got speeds in the teens and twenties on all providers most of the time.

Shuttle to the casino, good restaurants to eat at in the casino, friendly staff.

Bathrooms were beautiful and well appointed, large spaces and hot showers.

Shuttle was super quick. They showed up at our site to take us to the casino faster than we could get outside and coming back the valet ordered us a shuttle and we waited maybe 2 minutes. Nice pool and playground area for families.

Clean grounds, watched the guys take out the garbage promptly just around checkin/checkout time. We will be back here!

Simple campground. Not fancy. Don't have high expectations and you'll be pleased.

Older electrical systems with 30A plugs without a breaker on the panel itself, which could be challenging if we needed to use 2 AC units or an AC plus microwave or AC plus electric side of water heater coming on. Luckily it's cool enough here that we don't have the AC issue right now. No sewer hookups on our site but they have a honey wagon service, for $15 each pump out. Water and 30a at our site, not sure if other sites have 50a.

Sites are grass/gravel in heavily wooded areas with curvy pretty roads. The pool is simple, not fancy either but there is one. There are horseshoes, volleyball, mini golf, soccer, a playground and a basketball/tennis court. The laundry room itself is tiny, with two tiny washers and two tiny dryers that are often full and waiting for the dryers to slowly dry so that the wet clothes can be moved. Inefficient and slow cycles. Went into town and found a maytag laundromat that got all clothes (probably 6 of those tiny machines) done in about an hour. Some Thousand Trails parks have good laundry facilities. This is not one of them. Coins only.

The sites are not spaced very far apart but also not the tightest sites I have seen. Average to small.

Internet: Verizon was roaming here on (I think) US Cellular and data was struggling enough I could not get a consistent signal to test. This is why we have multiple carriers. AT&T got 30 down and 1.5 up. Sprint/Calyx 4G cheapy hotspot modem got 5 down and 2 up. Tmobile/Sprint/Calyx5G hotspot with Cat 23 modem that we just started using was at 15/8 when on a 4G signal at first (see below for a 5G test also from our site later), rolling over to Tmobile because Sprint was not great out here on its own. Tmobile on a Cat20 router/modem combo was 30/6. The modem matters because the higher category modems can pull signals that are more distant.

The only one we could not get a reliable signal from to consider it at least functional was our Verizon and Visible setups, when used for hotspot use. Phones on vzw worked decently but I often found them using the wifi from one of our hotspots if we hit a dead spot or dead moment on the VZW network. At our site we are directly next to a wifi antenna for the park. In theory their paid wifi should work very well at this spot. We have not left yet and may test it out, will update if we do.

Edited to Add: I decided to repeat the test of the 5G modem that is from Calyx Institute (a nonprofit we belong to that gives members a hotspot with unlimited data as part of the membership). It kept flipping from 4G to 5G depending on which side of the camper (driver or passenger side) I put it on. So I wanted to see if it mattered or changed the speed to be on a 5G signal with just a few feet of difference from the 4G signal -- and it does! The account runs on Sprint which roams to Tmobile a lot since the merger. While hardwire tethered to my laptop, the 5G Cat23 modem pulled 55-112 down and pushed 10-18.5 up on several speed tests when connected to a 5G cellular connection from our site. Looks like Tmobile has 5G in Sturgeon Bay and sometimes the 5G hotspot was able to grab that signal with two bars and give us very good results. Everything BUT Verizon seems to do decently well out here.

Door County is the reason you come here. The campground is decent but not nice enough on its own to come here but the location and the extremely friendly staff and seasonal guests who were incredibly welcoming make this park a gem. You can get into the back of the state park from the campground, which is very nice. There are lots of wooded trails and the loops are very wooded. Ours is probably the least wooded, some of the areas are deeply wooded to the point of not being able to see the sites around. You are extremely close to town. Three maybe four turns and 5-10 minutes and you are in Sturgeon Bay, near the water and the downtown areas. The location is wonderful and the people are just amazing.

There's a farmer's market June - October on Saturdays and lots of beautiful water and trails to explore. There's a lovely downtown area and it is picturesque, almost like a quaint New England fishing village. I would stay here again because for us it is free and the location is just perfect.

We are Thousand Trails members and have the Trails Collection add-on, so we stayed for free here.

It's a simple park, not fancy. They have a pool and some tennis courts that don't seem to get much use. We were in a different area of the park than the last time. We had some electrical issues at first and they sent someone around to fix them for us, then we had no more issues. We had both 50A and 30A available on our site. The electrical issues resolved, it was a good stay. This electrical pole had breakers, which was a step up from the last time we stayed here. In 2021 when we were here we had no individual breakers at our site, they had to be switched by staff somewhere else. Quiet, bright stars, a little tight to our nextdoor neighbors who liked to party but some earplugs solved it.

There is really no sewer hookup available at this park. I think maybe a few (less than five) sites have sewer hookups and those are annual sites I believe. They told us last time that the rock under the ground really limits the ability to run sewer lines. We find that to be true for a lot of parks in the state of Wisconsin. They do have a honey wagon service you can have come and empty your tanks for I think $10 per dump while you are there, on certain days. That's what it was a few years ago. We had them come and do that twice on a 2 weeks stay and that worked out well.

The park is older and there's some deferred maintenance. But the location in door county and adjacent to sturgeon bay makes it a gem in our book. Some things could use a coat of paint and a thorough cleaning, but as part of our TT membership it's quite a good deal to be so well located in Sturgeon Bay and accessible to other locations in Door County as well.

We will be back again. We love Door County and have family in Sturgeon Bay, so we will definitely be back.

Tmobile home internet had great service - more than 100 down and 3-10 up. We had issues with starlink from the trees around our site. We could've moved the dish to a better spot on our site with less obstructions, but with tmhi working, we didn't have a reason to mess with it.
