Quiet park. Friendly staff. Level site for the most part. Pool crowded! Tight spots to get big rigs into. Creek runs through it. Lots of bad weather while we were there but things drained well and we didn’t get too muddy. Road coming in too narrow, especially if you meet another rig. Close to The Ark Encounter and not too far from the Creation Museum which is why we were in the area! Follow the website directions for the best way in!

This is a nice campground. Gravel roads and sites but they are wider than most giving more room for larger RVs. Sites are still close just like most KOAs. Setup of picnic table and fire ring not particularly convenient to site. Our door opened on our neighbors sewer hose. Staff were very friendly. Nearby Museum of Appalachia was an unexpected surprise. Great Mexican restaurant and grill nearby...Habaneros. We would stay again if passing through the area.

This KOA is convenient to I40 which also causes the road noise...Road was under construction every night during our stay so that wasn’t fun, but I also must say that is not the fault of the KOA or its management. Sites were reasonably level although they were more dirt than gravel and were spaced better than in some parks. Access roads were narrow with tight turns. We had a glitch with the processing of our Value Card credit but it was satisfactorily handled. Staff and other campers were very friendly. The pool has been recently resurfaced and was very clean. We stayed a week to check out the Asheville area and would stay again if in the area.

This KOA is a good spot if sightseeing in the Greensboro area. Easy off and on I40. The sites are very tight and mostly dirt and a little gravel. The main road is asphalt. The pool looked dirty but is old and just needs to be resurfaced. Office staff pleasant except once when my husband was getting ice. Seems to have a lot of long term people.

This park was a bit of a disappointment! For a KOA Holiday it’s sites were pretty tight and the roads and sites were nothing but dirt which turned to mud when it rained (which it did frequently while we were there). Our site was right next to a building which was all we had to look at when we were outside. There seemed to be a lot of people living there and sites were not well kept. The staff was friendly but didn’t go out of there way to do anything about the muddy roads.

This KOA Journey is designed for short term stops. Not much to do early but we enjoyed the pool and just having some down time in our traveling. The sites were long and wider than most. Staff was very friendly! There were restaurants and shopping within 10 miles.

This is a very large park, but it has more spacious sites than some. Fairly quiet, some road noise from SH1. Small grocery store on corner...closest Walmart in West Columbia (3 miles). Lots of people who live in park but sites are clean and well kept. Friendly staff greeted us. Not far from Lake Murray and there are several state parks in the area. We were here to visit family so didn’t do much sightseeing. Sites are dirt and grass but they are level. FHU 30/50. Roads are asphalt. Not had for big rigs. We have 35 ft MH with a toad. There is also a flea market nearby which was kind of fun.

Red Gate campground was a nice surprise! We enjoyed the animals and walking by the water. There is lots to see and do in Savannah. Campsites are pretty level and ours had a bit of shade. They are spacious so you don’t feel like you are in a parking lot. WiFi is excellent...best we have experienced in our travels. Staff was friendly and campground well cared for. The only negative was the very rough gravel road throughout the park. We were here for a week and would come back again!

Nice place... geared for families! They were able to accommodate us on short notice for an overnight stop. Pool was very refreshing on a hot day. Didn’t mess with WiFi on an overnight stop but it is a subscription service that has free and paid options. Site wasn’t the greatest...but was at least level and more spacious than some we have been to. Would stop again if in the area!

We were scheduled to be at this park for a week...they were able to accommodate us a day early since we were trying to get out of the path of TS Alberto. It is a very pretty park , clean and well kept. Staff is very friendly. We are photographers so we loved the ponds and getting some wildlife pictures right outside our door.
We were happy to have an end site facing the pond since the sites are extremely close together. The negatives are the grassy, muddy sites (granted there had been a lot of rain) but our site was so muddy we sank when walking on it. Also two days before we were supposed to leave we started having power issues at the pedestal. Ended up having to run our generator because the power kept shutting off. We left a day early, but park management made things right!
