After a long day, I was greeted with a warm welcome from the new owners. Taken to my site and set up on a level spot which was tucked out of the way. Showers were clean and lots of water pressure. Convenient to I-20 (although maybe not for the really big rigs.) Overall solid location and I would stay again when on that route.

The sheer size of this location had me a bit worried about noise, traffic, cleanliness, etc. No need to have worried. The staff was available, friendly and helpful. The amenities were spotless and well maintained. You are really in the middle of a metroplex, but somehow feel like you are not in the middle of the chaos that surrounds. Its a few miles off the interstate, but the road is very easy to drive. Lots of fuel options nearby. Well done!

This is a great COE campground only about 10 minutes off I-22. Sites are level, clean and equipped with fire ring, picnic table and lantern holder. Some of the sites have great views of the water, mine was pretty but through the trees. No noise and actually very few mosquitos for a hot humid june night.

I had spot 31. Level, clean, pretty view of the lake, and a good distance to my neighbors. I wasn't there very long, just a quick overnight. Facilities were also clean. Lots of mosquitos, but that's not a surprise. I am also not sure how well big rigs would do in this campground as it was a fairly steep drop to the site.

As with my COE campgrounds where I’ve stayed, sites are level and very well maintained. The lakefront sites are really pretty and mostly well spaced. There’s a nice mountain bike trail just outside the entrance that’s suitable for most any level hiker or off road biker. I can’t wait to come back in the cooler weather.

I’m in a small RV so I can’t comment on access but indeed some of the driveways are steep to get to the actual site.

The road to Lakeshore campground is really bad. It's doable, but really needs some work. The campground itself is well laid out with a reasonable distance between sites. Stayed at site 97, one of the lakefront sites and highly recommend nabbing one of those. Bathrooms were clean. Cell service (verizon) was strong. I have a 23 footer and dont think you can go much bigger on many of the sites near the water. Close to I-95.

Its remote from any major cities, but it is a spectacular state park. Well maintained and clean. Great hike from the visitor center. I will try to find a way back and stay for a few nights.

Stayed here on a bitter cold night in January. I was greeted by a warm friendly host who did a nice job explaining the campground rules. Got to my site just after sunset but saw the pretty glow over the Tombigbee River. Quiet all night. (Doubt anyone was staying out late with temps in the low 20s.)

This is the cleanest campground at which i've ever stayed. Wonderfully friendly host. Quiet. Good space between site. It's about 15 minutes off the interstate, but an easy drive. Had a good number of mosquitos, but that's a fair trade off for the water views.

We were there on a Sunday night in September and it was nearly empty. Sites are generally pretty far apart so I dont think crowding would be a problem. Friendly hosts. The place was spotless. Bathrooms were good. Went to a concert at Darien Amphitheater and were able to catch an Uber to the event.
