The Jennings Ferry Campground is typical of the Army Corps of Engineers: pristine, spacious sites with water and electric, no sewer at each site, but there is a convenient RV dump in the park. I am here training as a volunteer camp host for the COE, so my site was provided to me. The sites are $24 and $26 (water front) per night and those with national park passes (Golden Age, Interagency Access, etc) get a 50% discount. Very quiet & peaceful, but off the beaten path. Boating and fishing always available to the public ($5 day use fee) and campers. Great Verizon signal with 17.5 Mbps download & 17.0 Mbps upload speeds.

Original reservations was 10 days, but we enjoyed our stay so much, we decided to extend it to the max 14 days. Large pull thru with 50amp and water with a dump station on the way out. The campground is located on a small creek that has access to Black Warrior River. Many take advantage of quiet fishing on the creek via the boat ramp, while jet skis and fast boats stay on the main river. The river is also used for barge transportation, which can be seen from the campground. Very clean restroom/shower building.
All the park hosts were great, very friendly and helpful.

We stayed hear on our trip from N.C. to AZ. It’s so worth the extra 10 miles off I20. The park is situated with river on both sides, many lakefront back in spots for only 2$ more. Few pull though sites but they are some available. There’s a Walking/birding trail which I’d imagine is very nice in warmer weather. We stayed in December during a cold front. Each side has a fit pit, Charcoal grill, metal picnic table, water and electric. It looks like only camp hosts have sewer but there is free dump station. Most sites are spread out well and spacious. We had trouble with our tow dolly and the host didn’t mind us staying until it was fixed. Would deff visit again!

Stayed for 1 night. The sites are large, mostly level, and spread out from each other. There had been a lot of rain, and some sites looked flooded but there were plenty of available spaces. Our site was right on the water.

As COE campgrounds go, this one is a little below average. Negatives were closed laundry facilities, no wood or ice for sale. Cell service was like a husband scorned: he’ll still do the job most of the time but now and then he just quits altogether.
But the water in the bathrooms was so very wonderfully hot. Men’s room had great shower pressure, however the mother of my children found it weak on the women’s side.
They lock the gate, with no key code, after 10pm but there’s nothing much to do outside of the park anyway so not sure why you’d be out and about that late anyway.
Oh and there’s either a bar or a local resident who has invested in powerful speakers across the water. You’ll be delighted to a blend of classic rock amd country hits from the 70,80s and today nightly.

Good little park. Big Rigs fit in just fine. The 50 Amp at our site was not wired correctly but the dog bone to 30 was just fine. Glad we camped in March and did not need Our ACs. We just stayed one night as we were driving home to TX from NC. T-mobile has a good data connection even on a night when the campground was full. Concrete level parking area with gravel living area next to it.

COE campground in the hardwood forest on the bank of a big slew off the Black Warrior River where tugboats pass by.
This is a good value .. We extended our stay by 3 more days on the day of arrival as we liked it so much! Campsite at the waterfront are back in ... And long enough to leave 5th wheel and truck(s) without problem! We camped at Jennings Ferry Campground in a 42ft Fifth Wheel.

This place is downright gorgeous. Quiet, peaceful, perfectly level! sites, under the trees. The same trees hold tons of owls that call to each other at dusk. We couldn't believe our ears. Warrior River beautiful, and the tugboats pushing barges that pass by add to the charm. Super nice, knowledgeable camp host. Sparkling clean bathrooms! Army Corp of Engineers are awesome. We could stay here forever!

Overall, an awesome campground! Sites are huge and long, concrete level pads. Tables, grills, lantern hooks and fire rings. Some sites are waterside. Bathrooms are very nice and clean. One of the best .attributes of this ACE campground is the camp host - she was very friendly and responsive! A good camp host goes a long way in making a good campground great. Don't be discouraged by the drive into this campground; as we were driving in, my wife was wondering what I'd gotten us into. Our rate was 1/2 of $28 since I have the Lifetime Senior Pass, but it is well worth the full price. Wish we could have stayed longer...next time we will.
