We stayed here in May 2017. We also were on site 8, and LOVED it! Most sites are on the water and shaded. There is a fair amount of spacing between sites, with some having a lot of privacy. The campground is spotless! When we arrived, every inch of the campsite had been raked, even the camp fire ring was spotless! We don't use the bath houses, but they were also very clean and in great shape. The playgrounds were really nice, including a few small ones, as well as a huge one near the entrance. The entire campground was extremely clean, the grass fields and the river banks were kept mowed, and they even had areas for limbs/trees for you to get for firewood. The wild flower fields were very pretty and labeled. We walked the trails near the large playground/day area use and they are also very clean and maintained. Fishing seems to be the main activity here. We would definitely recommend this campground to anyone! The locks are nearby if you want to see them on the river.

A beautiful park with many meadows of wild flowers. The sites are large with cement pads and long pads. Spacious sites make it feel like you are there by yourself. Run by the US Forestry and the rangers are very friendly. The only downside is there is no Sprint coverage. Fishing, hiking, boat launches, day use and open year round.

If you’re looking for a stopover when traveling through Alabama or visiting Selma (about 50 miles away) we highly recommend this campground!
Value: Great
At $28/night, it’s a really good value for the size of the sites and E/W hook-ups. As an added bonus, our site and a few others also had a surprise sewer hook-up! Another nice bonus was a working washer and dryer.
Our site was really large, right on the lake, and had a picnic table and smaller grill table. The grounds are well taken care of and grass is dotted with wildflowers so we felt great about everything we got for the $!
Dog-Friendliness: Good
Although there were no off-leash areas, the park grounds are so big you can take your pup for long walks with minimal traffic.
Runner and Biker’s Rave: Ok
The interior park loop is about two miles round-trip so you can get some mileage without leaving the park. Unfortunately there are no trails when you leave the park and the roads are pretty narrow so be careful.
Overall the park’s location on the lake, nice grounds, and reasonable price make this a great place to stay if you’re exploring the area!

Earl and I really liked our stay at this campground. The hosts were friendly and welcoming throughout our stay. The check-in process was easy and hassle-free. We originally planned on staying two nights but extended an extra night. We would have enjoyed staying longer.
I reserved Site 13 online and it turned out to be a great site fronting the water and separated from other campsites. The pads are level concrete with gravel areas for the picnic table, fire ring and grill. The utility hook-ups were up-to-date. (I was surprisingly impressed with the dump station on the way out. In particular, the foot operated cover used for the sewer hose inlet. But, maybe that is just me.)
While the day use area sits on Foscue Creek, the campground is bordered by a small finger of the Black Warrior/Tombigbee Rivers. Fishing is a big thing here. So, I made a donation to the State of Alabama for a non-resident fishing license and tried throwing a few flies in the early morning and at dusk. I got some good practice trying to improve my neophyte fly casting skills but didn't catch anything in this little off-shoot of the river.
Earl and I would spend a few more days at Foscue Creek Campground if we were again in west central Alabama.

Stayed here for a week in December over Christmas on our way to South Padre island. Payed $14 with our senior parks pass.Our site was one of only two pull thru sites. Number 7 being the other. 7 is the better of the two. (Was taken already) Overlooking the water and next to the restrooms and laundry. Witch were clean and we'll maintained. Sites 23, 24, and 25 are nice sites if you don't mind back in sites. I think all the sites have full hock ups. But don't quote me on that. Not a lot to do around here though if you're not into boating and fishing. The campground is pretty layed back. The only noise is an occasional train going by that sounds it's horn at crossings.

This park was fabulous, it has set the bar high for future COEs! In fact, we usually will list PROs and CONs for the reviews but in this case, no negatives come to mind!
* Three sets of hosts and all of them are super, Char and Gary were in the entrance booth when we came in and their enthusiasm was contagious!
* Site was super long, level and overlooked the water, somehow we landed with the best site in the loops. Oodles of sites big rig friendly;
* Hiking trails, birding was good and plenty of area to bike as well;
* Connectivity was ok for over the air antennae (TV) and connectivity was good for internet;
* Went to larger town of Meridian and did a tour at the Soule Machine Museum, well worth the trip (60 miles) and money;
* Showers were super clear and plenty of hot water and used the one washer/dryer (this room was again very clean) with reading books available in same room;
* Take precautions for ants and we were told at check in so kudos for the heads up!
* Quiet at night.

We loved it! We paid half price with Access Pass and had full hook ups! Camp hosts Gail and Warren greeted us warmly. Site 7 is a paved level pull thru on the water. The site was clean and freshly raked. Nice space between sites. Lots of grass nicely mowed. Only thing I can think of to make it better would be a dog run. Definitely would go back. Cannot give it enough stars.

This campground was wonderful - so well taken care of, many of the sites were spacious, the hosts were very friendly and helpful. The sites were very clean and there was firewood available to purchase at the campground. This is one of the quietest campgrounds we have stayed in, even on a football weekend.
We stayed in site 34, which wasn’t waterfront, but it was huge. The park is very flat and well laid out. Plenty of room to ride bikes in the campground and the day use area, even a few gravel trails that you can ride. Watch the barges on the river from the point or fish from the bank. Some of the waterfront sites had room to pull a boat right up to the site.
Most all of the sites have a sewer hookup, only a few do not. We used an AT&T hotspot and antenna and were able to work remotely from the campground for the most part, though there were a few times when it was a little slow.
There is a park at the lower falls with hiking trails and picnic areas, too. We would come back here anytime!

Firstly. I need cell coverage. It was not great but WeBoost made it usable. Moving on. Great hostess welcomed us to a great campground. Spacious, clean, tidy and quiet. Occasional train in the background, but not loud enough or often enough to be a nuisance. Full hookups. Will definitely be back
