Traveling from Las Vegas to Bend, OR in our 38 ft class a motorhome and this was a great stop.

It’s right off the highway, easy entrance and exit. Mountains on both sides. 2 picnic tables, dumpster, and vault toilets. In early May it was in the 30s/40s at night. With our heater on we could hear no traffic but counted maybe 1 passing car every 30 minutes.

Fell asleep with 1 other nice camper in the lot and woke up to 5 of us in the lot. Plenty of room, flat, and pretty!

We stayed here for one evening but ended up moving to Chosa Draw, (32.1050648, -104.4258106) This Chosa Draw location is a great back up plan if Sunset Reef is full. Sunset Reef can feel more like a dry camping RV park over 'traditional' BLM boondocking. But, it's free and in-between the 2 National Parks! They have spots for big rigs all the way to tent campers. Previous reviews are correct about watching the signs for the turn into this campground. Then, you've got a few minute drive on a gravel road to get into the parking area. Cell service is good enough to work off of! We did conference calls, video calls, YouTube, etc.

We stopped here for three nights after the campground we were going to stay at had no cell reception. We work full-time and hotspot off of our cell phones. You will have plenty of AT&T and Verizon cell service here. We have been able to video chat, make phone calls, reply to emails, and stream. They have a separate parking lot for RV parking, it is level and more than 50 rigs of all shapes and sizes can fit in the parking lot. In the back of the parking lot you have access to a dump station for free and a water Spicket for freshwater to the right of the dump station. You can stay up to 72 hours for free in the parking lot. You must fill out a form that is located in one of the bus stops and placed one of the tags on your windshield. If you would like to stay longer you must gamble at least $200 a day. Looks like there is propane fill up at the gas station across the parking lot, a convenient store, and food and drinks in the casino. We’ve been able to run our generator without any problems and when we visited at the end of July there were only 25 other rigs in parking lot.

Stayed here for 1 night in February. The gift shop/museum were closed when we arrived (5:30 PM) due to the winter storm and the park being closed. Thank goodness one of the electric boxes was unlocked so we had power for the night. If you plan on using electric call ahead of time and ask them to unlock a box! Southern entrance to park is right there! Pay $20 to enter and spend the day. We left the RV parked until about noon at the site and once the gift shop opened up we went in and paid. The gift shop closed early the night before and didn’t open until about 11 the next day! The lady inside was flustered when we paid and said she tried to knock on our door and she didnt know what was going on...I explained about them closing early and opening late, that I found them on harvest, and that we even called hours before we arrived. She didnt seemed thrilled to have us but we still had power for the night so whatever. Only negative is the service here. We would stay again if we had to and show up in the early part of day before they shut down. Gravel lot, pretty level, quiet. Wonderful restaurants about 18 miles away.

RVers & Big Rigs this is not the North Fork Road dispersed camping area. Many review photos added to this location were not taken here. Just a word of caution.

This location has a few tent camping spots close to river and 2 (that we could see) back in gravel ‘driveways’ that rigs could fit. The first driveway you see on your right upon entering has a pretty deep rut that maybe lifted trailers and vans could make it over to get to the camping spot. The 2nd driveway you see on your left almost any rig could fit in. This was taken 5/5 days we checked. I would not drive my rig down this road as you would be unable to turnaround.

Beautiful spot to take your tow vehicle, park, and enjoy water and beach for the day! We parked our rig at North Fork Road dispersed camping site and walked the .2 miles here. You can launch your paddle boards, boats, rafts from here. Lay out, bring the dog, swim, etc. very busy on weekend in July. Weekdays it was easier to find parking in this small lot.

After reading other reviews I decided to stop at this location on my way from Oregon to Arizona. This was an easy and quick stop. The turn off to this location is opposite of the Texaco has station. Immediately after the gas station and ranger station. There are three different gravel openings to get to the flat area. They are very close together and one does have a dip in front of it. As of March 23 the dip is not that bad and I could’ve made it with my 24 foot motorhome which is towing. But because I read reviews I opted for the third gravel opening and made it just fine. I was the only person at the site until about 9:00 PM when another motorhome pulled in and parked behind me. Very quiet, you can hear highway noise, beautiful scenery, and a great place for the dogs to run around. The local town is basically closed because of the current virus but I was able to get takeout and grab a few necessities from the local dollar general store.

Nice and easy dumpstation right off highway going west bound. Was open and functional on august 5th 2023. Plenty of over night spots for big rigs and cars.

I stayed here for 2 nights with 2 dogs. 24 ft class C and towing small suv. Called to double check before I arrived, you either have to book 72 hours in advance over the phone or take your chances by just showing up. I spent a Friday and Saturday night here at the end of January and only 4 out of the 7 spots were occupied all weekend! No hook ups. Bathrooms and trash close. Camping spots are a little distance from trails so you can see people but the noise doesn’t bother you. Free park so lots of families, busy hours with foot traffic are 7:00 AM TO 2:00 PM. But everyone is quiet. 6 minute drive to Walmart or city but no light pollution at night. This was a wonderful location were we rested, sunbathed, and hiked! Decent cell reception.

I’m a solo female traveler with 2 dogs. I stayed here for one night and had no issues...but I was on guard the entire time as when I pulled up there was 1 truck with a tent in the back set up and a guy on a bicycle just casually riding around. This is a few miles off the highway and secluded. So very quiet and was even able to let my dogs off the leash, around 10 pm another motor home pulled in the parking lot and stayed for a couple hours. Good place to park, recharge, and get out. Surrounding area doesn’t look the safest but I guess looks can be deceiving? Would stay here again for free and would show up a little earlier so I had more day light to get familiar with the area.

We were originally going to stay here but they had signs posted on every pole and corner that said NO OVERNIGHT parking and they would ticket and/tow. I did t want to take the chance of being harassed in the middle of the night. This parking lot is used for UHaul trailers and rental cars. We ended up driving 20 extra minutes for a welcoming Cracker Barrell. There were sprinter vans and older converter vans staying over night in parking lot but I feel that smaller vehicles can get away with staying over night? Or maybe they can afford tickets? Ha
