You won't find anything close to the city of San Francisco with a free overnight parking spot. This is immediately north of the Golden Gate Bridge on Hwy 101. Very busy with tourists most hours of the day. It is legal to park overnight here. A car or van would be best, not sure if it could accommodate a class C or class A. Plenty of signs warning about thefts from cars. Bathrooms open 24 hours. Can be windy at time. Total boondocking, no services. Only accessible from north side, so if you are coming from the north you must go into the city and return on north 101.

Although I did not stay overnight here I gladly would if the timing was better. Stopped by here on my way west. Unfortunately at 6pm it was still 90 degrees (Mid June) and many hours until it cooled off. There was 1 RV in the park. I walked around, checked the restrooms etc., a fine place to stay at the right time of year. Not far at all from the freeway.

Outside of Provo, Utah. Nice, small campground. Friendly Host, Joseph. Had a site #10 next to fast flowing river. Vault toilets, no showers. Some Highway noise can be heard But all I heard was rushing water. Most sites are $20, the site next to playground was $30. Not sure what length RVs can fit.

Spent 2 nights here 7/16. Quiet Campground. A good choice for astronomers and night sky buffs. Close to Desert View Observation points and the Watchtower. It appears to be an historic structure but was built in 1935. Gas station and Grocery close by as well as prepared food and gift shop (all at Watchtower). Showers are conveniently located in Grand Canyon Village, 25 miles away. Great inexpensive choice for last minute camping trip. First come, First served. Had Cell service but closed down at 9pm, no idea why.

Very close to downtown Jackson. I boondocked there for one night across from Campground, no charge. Be Aware........ The drive up to the Campground is very dangerous (in my opinion). You are going on 3 switchbacks up the side of the mountain on a gravel road that is 1.5 cars wide with no turn arounds or shoulder. In my Chevy Express it was a very rough ride. I would not attempt with a large RV or trailer. Also, the park rangers told me this area is getting a reputation as a party spot, where people are leaving trash etc. and also women were getting hassled. If I had it to do over I would drive that way and immediately as you enter NPS grounds 3 or 4 parking spots for vans or smaller class C before you go up the mountain. You are out of city limits so the Jackson Police will not bother you. There is a good view from the top but I would never do it again, or maybe I'm just getting old.

Spent 2 nights here, it is one of the campgrounds that fills slower than others. It is south of the main Yellowstone attractions but was fine for me. C28 had a fire pit and bench that was up a small incline so I moved to a different spot (I think C21) for the 2nd night. Pretty tight fit but enough trees to give you some privacy. Bear boxes for anyone with a soft sided camper or just backpacking. 1 loop is just for bikers and backpackers. Ranger Station at the entrance. A lot of boaters here, boat ramp is right at entrance. Garbage needs to be brought out to entrance.

Nice night of camping at Sugar Hollow. A couple of areas with what looked like full time campers. Quiet, no problems. Electricity at every site. Picnic table and fire ring. Home Depot down the street had no firewood. Very close to lots of stores including a Walmart. Just keep following the signs for camping. Gate is closed at 9pm, although it is just clipped together and you can come and go as you wish. Connected to a large park for hiking or dog walking. Super nice Camp Host.
