Feeling bad we didn’t need gas after using this excellent, easy access, free, did I mention it’s free?, dump spot at the Cennex in Buffalo, Wyoming.
Go Pokes!
I love these municipal dump sites. Clean, easy, and free! About 3 mi off I-84 on a main road so access was easy. An Albertsons is a block away for reprovisioning.
No potable water.
We needed an overnighter with full hooks before we headed to Devil's Tower for a couple of days of boon docking. This little KOA fit the bill. It's well away from I-90 so it's pretty quiet, it has lots of mature trees, and there were a lot of birds. The sites are reasonably sized and the grounds are well maintained. The bathrooms and showers were clean and in good condition.

The nearby WA state rest area RV dump was closed so we used this one. It was only about a mile off of I-82, pretty easy to access, and seems like it's aways open (we used it on a Sunday afternoon).
Note: there is NO fresh water!
We arrived on Father’s Day in the evening to many available spots. We drove through a few and found one next to the River that was simply stunning. We got out to size up our parking and backup strategy with a 25’ Airstream and my husband was so excited he nearly crashed into me trying to run back to the truck to get started.
As it had rained recently, there were a few ruts to be cautious about, but the site was still quite level. We got set up quickly and had a short hike along the River bank. We were near a beaver dam and saw lots to chewed down trees and beaver-construction, but no actual beavers 🦫.
We only had time for one night, but would happily spend many more. I could see it getting dusty when the roads dried out more and the ATVs and OHVs are out to play or even during busier times of camp season.
No cell service on either Version or ATT, but the down time is worth it.

Robson Meadows is a pretty standard BC Parks campground; the sites are large and well spaced; the facilities are clean and well maintained.
There is absolutely no cell service anywhere in the vicinity (even with a WeBoost). This campground is dry camping but there is a Sani-dump and water fill across the highway behind the Visitors Center. The Visitors Center also has public wifi that extends outside the building.
The campground is near a number of trails so it's a good base to explore the park. Jasper is only an hour's drive east so a day trip is easy.
We had a lot of haze and smoke from the numerous wildfires in BC during our stay so did not get to see Mount Robson.

We needed full hooks between boondocking sites and wanted to explore the south part of the Black Hills. Custer’s Gulch fit the bill. The park is very clean, well organized, quite, away from the highway yet close to everything (Mt Rushmore, Custer SP, Wind Cave, Jewel Cave, etc.) The sites are well separated with nice grass lawns between. Each site backs on to natural forested land so you don’t feel all bunched up.

We only stayed a week, but it was a nice interlude between boondocking at National Parks. We would definitely return. The spots were tidy, the showers and laundry were clean and available 24/7. The facilities were excellent with numerous classes, events, and really something for everyone.

We stayed here during an Oregon Airstream Club rally. The new owners have been here about a year and they are really making an effort. They are very friendly and accommodating, the place is clean and everything works. They catered a dinner for the rally and the food was excellent and very reasonably priced.
It’s very close to the Mahler Wildlife Refuge which is something to see. Also close to Steens Mountain which has some amazing views.
We’ll be returning this Spring when the migratory birds come through.

We spent the night here on our way to the Sedona area from Moab in late November. Plenty of great boondocking spots. The view is amazing and we had great weather: sunny and no wind dring the day but it dipped into the low 20’s at night). Not only is there great cell service but the little entrance kiosks shares its Starlink SSID! This would be a good base to explore areas north (like Natural Bridges National Monument).
