We did two nights of boondocking here. Most sites were reserved through Rec.gov, but there were a few first come first serve options. I'm super glad we pulled in early enough for site 19. It was on the outside ring, last in the row, and a nice amount of space. Views of mountains around are beautiful at sunset and you're close enough to Pagosa Springs to explore a little.

Road in was a little bumpy, but not too complicated. We saw 15 footers like ours, 20+ large RVs and tents, so it was a good mix. Pit toilets were clean. Sites have no water or electric, but water is available on the campgrounds. There is no reception in the area.

Facilities are awesome: WIFI worked great, showers were clean, Dish washing area available, activities in abundance for kids, shop was stocked with whatever you might need. We even liked the Pizza we ordered from their cook. The people were super friendly and super helpful.

However, it was jam packed. We came in on a Holiday weekend so we expected higher rates, but I'm glad we were pulling a 15 footer and not anything bigger. The spots themselves are really narrow and tight. We were in between National Park Boondocking trips, so this may have compounded on the sensory overload of people and activities. And it was hot...very hot.. that day.

Stayed in a site on the River and had a great view. Campground was quiet and offered water and electric sites. Recommend staying in river spots if possible, the spots away from the water are pretty tight and there are some longer term residents there as well. Showers are pretty minimal, but they held hot water and provided ample space for dressing. Women's has two stalls and men has only one stall. There are two dump locations and one trash area. I had to work in the afternoon and was able to use their WiFi for video calls.

We wrapped up a month long trip with three nights of peaceful boondocking. We towed our 15ft trailer out to teal on the 22 mile gravel road. There were only a couple of cattle grates that created some sizeable bumps to get over, but otherwise the road was very well maintained.

Campground is clean and well marked. Pit toilets are also well maintained. No water, electricity or sewage at the site, but there is water available in the campgrounds. Fishing was a miss for us, but the the hubs loved being on the reservoir.

Ice Cave Ridge - was less than expected, but still pretty cool to see. The Pagosa Springs Hiking Trail map says "short walk" but it was cloer to a .5 mile uphill, not bad though.
Piedra Falls Trail - was as the Hiking trail Map states, and very worth it.

There is a spot on Road 639 where we were able to pick up limited cell reception to get a couple of "we're good" messages out to our family without having to drive into town.

I think we got a little lucky going into summer of 2021 with this reservation. The site was private and spacious and had a great overlook of the lake. The sites are pretty tight and crowded; it was impressive watching the bigger RVs maneuver in and out.

The park itself is nice, great walking trail around the immediate campground and lots of areas to drop down and fish. Reception was good and with a WeBoost I was able to work and host Video calls from my camper.

Facilities were clean and well maintained. Showers, washers and dryers are all coin operated. $1.50 to wash, $1 to dry and about $1.25 for a 7 min shower.

We've stayed here a few times as a stop over to get to Palo Duro or out to Colorado. It's a great little park with some water access and really pretty views from the tent sites.

A couple of notes...summer is all about scorpions and Burs. Our dogs are not fans of this park. :)

Cell reception was decent, I actually ran a video call with our WeBoost up.

We stayed here on our way out of Texas into Colorado and on the way back. The facilities were excellent. Showers were private, shop and staff were super helpful. The spots are large and spacious. It's crowded, as most RV parks are, but it was comfortable.

Only reservation is that they only allow dogs to walk on the west side of the park, so my littles had a hard time making it that far to do their business from the east.

We needed a stopping point between Trinidad and Colorado Springs and this was a good middle point. It was a one night stop over, but it was a nice stay. It was early enough in May and midweek so we avoided any big crowded weekends. The weather was great so I took advantage of multiple camp loops that were empty for walking and running.

Shower facilities were nice, private rooms and the water stayed plenty hot. Reception was ok, but better with our WeBoost. Site had power, but no water; although water spots were spread around campgrounds.
