Confirmed by 9 users | Last reported on August 04, 2022great stopping place, accepted passport America rate. I was assigned a flat, pull through spot so I did not need to unhook car. Quiet, lovely night sky, great dog walk area and river views. Electric, dump and water quality were good. Grass spots, but level, and not muddy at all.

We were looking for a campsite on our way home and found this site. Beautiful views and the lady working there named Linda called me right back. She was so nice and welcoming. We couldn’t see how beautiful the site was until morning and we were stunned! Beautiful scenery along the river with gazebos, walking paths, and picnic tables. If we are in the area we would definitely stay there again!

We stopped here on a whim and got, I think, the best spot in the park—a long pull-through right by the river. The kids were able to ride their bikes around and play on the little zip line. The bathrooms and laundry room are brand new and beautiful. Linda, the manager, is so friendly, accessible, and helpful. Also, while there is a dump station on site, there is a man who will pump your tank for you on-site (the Honey Wagon) for $15. I wish we had found this place earlier.

We LOVE this campground. We planned to stay one night and changed our plans to stay over a week. We are set up in a site by the river, nestled amongst tall trees providing lots of shade. The sounds of the Rio Grande flowing nearby soothes the soul. Our site is very roomy, with an abundance of space for our truck and camper and a large screen shelter. It has a great fire pit and a picnic table. There is plenty of space between campsites. We have enjoyed the walking along the banks of the river, which has two new gazebos to sit in. There is nothing but nature to view on the other side. The sites by the river don't offer sewer hookup but the campground offers honey pot service for a small fee. The host is wonderful. Be aware that when you turn off the paved road, you will drive down a dirt road about 1/4 of a mile directly into the campground. Along the road, you'll see private, old mobile homes which don't represent the quality of the campground. Just keep on driving to experience a little slice of heaven.

We had a site directly on the Rio Grande, and enjoyed both the view and sounds of the water. There are plentiful Cotton Wood trees that provide ample shade, and the location is so quiet, we slept with the windows open each night, the lapping of water and sound of frogs in the background. The restroom and showers are clean and well appointed, and there are numerous gazebos, a large group shelter, paved sidewalk loop, and even a zip line for the kids. The location of this campground is ideal for anyone wanting to enjoy the Great Sand Dunes, as well as the activities in Pagosa Springs without having to move. Both are a 1-hour drive. The only drawbacks to this place are: no sewer hookup on the river sites (totally worth it though), and the greenery areas could use a little TLC, such as mowing and weed-eating. There are many RV parks between this one and Pagosa Springs, but they’re all very close to the highway. If you are wanting peace and tranquility, I don’t think you can beat Woods and River

This is a well cared for CG situated along the Rio Grande, offering sites that are fairly long, level, and nearly all are pull-through . About 60% of the sites are located in an open field with some smaller trees/shrubbery, pretty normal commercial CG spacing, and FHU. The remaining sites are split between two rows nearer the river, offering more mature trees, a more natural feel and a bit more privacy, and are W/E only. While RV ‘scenery’ isn’t normally a big deal to us when considering commercial parks, it’s worth noting there is a significant difference between the front ‘Meadow’ sites and those in the ‘River’ area.
The undeniable park highlight is it’s direct access to the river, a short walk allows you to enjoy the scenery or go for a swim. There is also plenty of room for walking a dog, and while there were a lot of RVs during our stay, the park was serene. Our ‘River Woods’ site was just big enough for our truck and trailer, and our utilities were easy to reach and worked perfectly during our stay. We were far enough away that we didn’t even bother to try the Wifi, but Verizon worked perfectly without a booster. The park manager is very nice and while we made our reservation over the phone (their site was down), they do have online booking along with a very clear and helpful website.
In some ways this is a very normal commercial style park (particularly the front field/meadow sites), but it is well kept and offers some very nice scenery (river area). It’s easy to access, close to town, and nearby to various other spots of interest. We might stay here again, but based on our camping experience/preferences, the daily and weekly rates are quite a bit higher than we’d normally pay.
