Really well-maintained park. We had a full hook up site which was super nice to come back to after a day of hiking in Yellowstone. Walking distance to town. Bathrooms were immaculate. Best campground bathroom I’ve ever seen. WiFi doesn’t work great, but eh. Sites are pretty small and they seem very particular about their grass- funny bc it’s terrible grass. Paved so the kids could ride ripsticks. Laundry room was nice, store was nice, customer service was friendly.

Fun rodeo and great final day for our Yellowstone experience. But then we went to Jackson Hole and totally wish we had done the rodeo there instead! But it was fun and the kids really enjoyed the participation. We payed online and when we got there all they had was a girl standing next to a car looking at our PayPal receipt and handing out tickets, but nobody asked for our tickets and it seemed like we could have just walked in for free. But... we have clean consciences so... 😂

BEAUTIFUL! But get there EARLY! We got there at 6am and hiked from the trailhead around the left side of the lake (2 miles ish), then inspiration point and hidden falls (another 2 miles ish some of it more difficult level) then we hiked back the same way we came. I wish we had gotten there an hour earlier. It was pretty light traffic on the way out but on the way back it was getting heavy. We left around 9:30 and the parking lot was so full there were cars parked down the street about a mile away from the trailhead and the line for the ferry was really long.

We really enjoyed this Gondola ride. During certain times of year, it is free after 5pm every day except Saturday. If we had to pay the lift ticket price ($112 per family) I wouldn’t have given it 5 stars. Not worth that, but for free it was awesome. Kids loved it and the view from the top was pretty great. Lots of ski resort gear in the way of a really great view, but that’s to be expected. There was even some snow up there!

There is also a nice looking restaurant at the top. We didn’t eat there, but it would be fun.

There is also a hiking trail (Wildflower Trail I think?) that goes up the mountain. My husband was hoping to hike up and take the gondola down but timing didn’t work out.

Good to set your expectations before coming here. It is great if you are driving through and/or spending the day away from the campground. It is basically just 7 full hook up sites right behind some storage buildings. There is nothing extra.

Pros:
-Cheap- $40 a night for full hook up
-Very short drive to Makoshika State Park
-Friendly hosts and easy to reserve
-Safe area for being in the middle of town

Cons:
In the middle of a kinda run down area of town
No room for kids to play or hang hammocks.
