We have camped here a number of times. During this stay; however, a ranger came by and let us know that it would be no camping from now on.
Over the Fourth of July weekend, the Rangers found nine unattended campfires during a high fire warning. Ruby’s Inn complained that people camping here are using their facilities. Due to these things the forest service has decided to make this a no camping area. Sadly, campers caused this to happen. The forest service ranger said he would contact Campendium and let them know the new rule.
You can camp further than a half mile from any established campground in this area. But the roads that far are so rough that most people with a motorhome or trailer will not be able to get down to the spots now. Also, that far away most people will not be able to get cell phone signal. So this makes it a place that you would not be able to work on the road if that is what you do.
We were told that we (And anyone else who was currently camped here) could stay until our 14 days were up, but they were not allowing any new campers in this area and that they would start fining people for camping here. The fine as I understand it is $400.

You'll notice this place right away because it's surrounded by large planter pots. It is also the only place in Tecopa that you can park on the mountain and look out at the valley. They have 2 different private hot spring rooms that were open every time we have been there (3 times), you get 24 hour acess, and they allow men and women to co-use them. The green building place doesn't allow that and me and my partner prefer to be together than naked with strangers. There are full hookups and in the off season it's only $28 a night. There's a cute little restaurant we haven't been able to eat at yet as it's only open Thursday-Sunday. I think Wednesday lunch as well. They have a sometimes open mic on Friday's and live music on Saturdays. There is a massage therapist but since there's no cell service I've never been able to connect with her, they email her you want a massage and I guess she's supposed to come by your rig and set a time but we've not been able to get this done. There's a super cool labyrinth where people leave little offerings at the alter at the end. There's rock crystals sold in an octagon room that's purple. They sell clay mud for bathing at home, not in the hot springs. Anyhow, we've checked out all 4 places in the town and this one is our favorite because it has that chill kind of laid back vibe we do. They didn't even mind our harmonium, drum, singing, music making.

Do be aware, we read the other reviews that had mobile service and it depends on what site you park in. Also AT&T and Verizon were both on what we only know to call a circle of signal. To us, that means we have signal in and out. Site 5 had zero AT&T signal. We didn't check our T-Mobile. We just assumed there was no signal for that.
It's so quiet here that your ears ring and it was mostly clean. Someone left quite a mess of their food at a site near ours. But otherwise it was clean. The pit toilet by our site was clean and we saw the ranger come by. They are looking for a volunteer Campground host. Maybe that's the job for you?
There was a solid hike right outside our door. 2,500 steps according to my iwatch. Fantastic view from the top.
We arrived in the dark of the night on a new moon and had no problems finding a site. There's also a large pull out next to the turn in off the road. If you needed to arrive at night in your 40 foot class A, you could stay there until morning.

It’s a parking lot for $30 a night. We moved on a Saturday and couldn’t find any spots so we ended up here.
There’s no amenities and the check in process is weird. But it’s right at the Marina which is beautiful!

We stopped here because we were too tired to go to the Silverton area. We were glad we did. We parked in a huge field. Everyone else parked in the dirt lot up top. We had magnificent views all around. The road gets BAD after the field. Do not pass the field with your trailer or motorhome. Some vans would be ok. We unhitched and drove up the road to go to a hike up there that leads to a lake. Do it. But we didn't drive the entire road because the rocks are so sharp and steep. We worried about a puncture. We live in this thing. Anyhow, down in the valley it was wonderful. Until the weekend when it got loud and lots and lots of people came. One of their dogs attacked our dog. It wasn't great. But we don't really mind people having a good time. We had a wonderful family camp next to us. From what we could tell it was worse up the road near Silverton. Very crowded. Anyhow, we loved this spot. It had hiking and water near by. The pizza place in the old school house was awesome too. Really greasy and cheesy. Oh and we did have to do a lot of site clean up.
We had Verizon decent. ATT pretty good. T-Mobile amazing. Lol. T-Mobile for the win.

We usually use this as our spot if we want to leave town and it's almost dark or we are just getting back to Vegas and we don't want to go home just yet. Only 1 1/2 hours from Vegas, driving trailer life style, this is a great get away, be remote, but still be close spot.
If you do the hike across the street, bring water. It's more difficult than the sign says and a steep climb that requires scrambling.
The access road to the site is easy to get to and pretty easy to navigate, even in the dark. There are 3 spots. 2 near the cross and one premium site where you can watch the sunrise. We've camped in both and loved them. A little bit of road noise. No cell service with ATT or Verizon.

When you think Wyoming. This is the picture in your mind. Absolutely beautiful. We would have stayed longer but no cell signal and I’m working on thecraftedcarrot.com so no time for no signal. The road is good for any size rig down to the campground. The campground was empty of nearly empty the entire time we were here. Probably because there are so many boondocking spots on the way. Enjoy your stay ❤️

No cell service on any carrier. The sites are in a field there’s really only electric and water that I can see. We didn’t have any issues with the electric like the last poster, but I didn’t check it and it worked fine.
We were here for the hot springs only. The RV park wasn’t a real draw. It’s an extra $10 per person to soak in the pool though I highly recommend getting a private pool for only $4 total, not per person. No kids screaming and you can control the temperature.
The RV area was pretty, peaceful, and suited our needs. We have a long rig and only two or three of the 10 spots there would have accommodated so make sure you mention your size.

We were just getting out of Vegas and that always takes longer than you think it will. We are on the way to the Grand Canyon. This was a great spot that's far enough out of Vegas to feel wild again but seriously like a right turn off the main road, very, very easy to get to. We parked on the rim over looking an absolutely picturesque landscape of desert. Morgan, the dog, and I ran out the door and hiked a beautiful and clean hike. Less than 2 minutes walk from the site. Our T-Mobile hot spot worked great and we watched movies and YouTube all night. Verizon and ATT were full too. Only downside, really loud, but that's to be expected.

It said you were supposed to pay but we couldn't find a price or anywhere or anyone to pay to. It's in a desolate area. There's fresh water and the dump is easy to access. If you don't have a long hose for fresh water you will have to back up to get to the water pump. We did.
