We needed a place to stay close to Grand Rapids, and most places are closed after September. This and one other park were our only options, and this one was cheaper.

New owner was fixing, cleaning, and painting the 3 days we were there. Seems to be really shining up the place. There were a lot of seasonals, but plenty of space for us, and our site was rather large.

Wifi was good, as there were 5 different connection options! We had 50amp and Water, and there was a Dump on-site. Owner delivered firewood to us.

We stayed overnight in July 2018. Price reflects Passport America. Pull thru site with 30amp FHU and no wifi. 4 bars Verizon LTE. Easy in and out, and not crowded. Camp store onsite, but nothing much around town.

Called in advance to make sure there was room. Called again around 4pm to let them know we would be in around 8pm. Manager was very accommodating. We pulled into the parking area in front of the store and called again as we had been instructed. Manager met us at the store for check in. RV area is a little further past the store, but easily accessible.

Site was dirt/grass and slightly unlevel. Only a few other rigs around and we were told to pick a spot, so we had a choice for space, but if the row was full, it would be tight quarters. Good view of the lake, and the bugs, but that’s what you get near water! We did not use any of the facilities.

Signs nearby for a petrified forest. Would have checked it out if in the area longer.

This is the only PA park in the area and we wanted to see Reno on our way to Vegas. The park is very nice, and the sites are large. Close to Fernley and not too far from Reno. There was some road noise as well as park resident late night in-and-out, but it’s to be expected when ‘camping’ in town.

There are several separated, fenced-in dog areas, which is something we’ve not seen in our 16 months of travelling. It was very nice to have an individual separated area for my dog to run around in.

Check-in was pleasant, and we were escorted to our site via golf cart.

You can still park anywhere in the parking lot, and there are 2 posts with 15amp, but the RV sites are closed due to construction, and the construction is noisy.

Register inside. $5 slot credit for walking in the door, $10 more for first-timer, $10 more if you give them your email address (yes, that's $25 free slot play). Plus, they give you a drink voucher and two coupons for blackjack that will win you an extra $5 if you win the hand.

Snack shack inside has a minimal, but half-way decent food selection - wings/fries/tots/fried mushrooms, burgers, salads, fish (of course), and some other items.

Caution: smoking is permitted inside, and boy do they take advantage. You may want an extra set of clothes to change into after you leave.

This park has a separate area marked 'extended camping,' but I believe most of the units throughout are there for at least the season, if not the year, or decade. They have a few pull-thru spots for overnight use. We stayed for the month with 50amp FHUs. $350/month and this includes tax and electric.

Our site was a nightmare to get into. It was by far the most difficult backward maneuvering I've done in my 5 months of full time travel so far. A local park resident was summoned by the park host to help me achieve this maneuver. He suggested that I pull forward and then back the trailer at a 90-degree angle, up a steep hill, and then cut it the opposite 90-degree angle to get into the site. It was a 'Z' maneuver, but with a steep hill with several trees and large rocks in the middle. It took a while, and I broke one of the support wheels under my rear bumper because the incline was so steep, but we eventually got the trailer parked. Not all the spots are like this.

There is a laundry room onsite with 2 washers and 2 dryers. Bathrooms 'close' at 7pm, but we didn't use them anyway. No Wifi.

Easy access to I-20. Several travel stops/restaurants nearby, including two 24hr restaurants.

This is an Escapee membership club campground offering SmartWeigh for RVs. We planned to stop here before we even started our full-time adventure back in June 2017. SmartWeigh is an extremely detailed measurement (wheel-by-wheel) of the weight you are hauling around on the road, so we highly recommend this service to anyone RVing. It's much better and more informative than a truck-stop scale.

Our dog met donkeys for the first time here. (see pics)

Tight & crowded. Jaded and surly attendant. Close to Left Hand Brewery and 1 hour from Denver airport.

This was a last resort. My wife had a flight to catch out of Denver. We had reservations at Jeffco Fairgrounds in the city but were turned away because we didn’t have our TX vehicle registration receipt. Anyway, everything else within 60 miles was booked except maybe 2 sites at this park. Stayed June 2018.

Upon arrival, we spoke with an attendant who said to look for an open spot on the registration kiosk computer, then park, then come up and register. Unfortunately, this is not a very good system because there were several ‘open’ spots in the computer that were very occupied. So, we quickly decided to go in reverse and look for an open spot first. Unfortunately, someone can pay for a spot in advance through the kiosk, so some of the unoccupied sites were actually reserved.

After getting lucky and finding an open site that wasn’t reserved, we paid and wedged our 35’ fifth wheel inches from our neighbors on either side. It was very close. Our neighbor’s door almost hit our slide wall when it was opened all the way.

The campground has electric and water at most sites, and an on-site dump station. There is also a coded bathroom, but we weren’t given the code and we didn’t ask. There are some homeless people around, but no one bothered us.

The fairgrounds are obviously close, so you’ll hear the announcer if something is going on…at 7:00am for sound check.

There is a lot of space to walk the dog(s) on sidewalks and large grassy areas throughout the grounds.

Longmont is home to one of my favorite breweries- Left Hand Brewing, so if you’re into good beer, I highly recommend a visit. The Nitro Milk Stout is quite a treat.

The park is fine. It’s fairly large and was pretty empty when we stayed. Site has E, water until Oct. 15, and a dump and fill station by the hotel. You get hotel breakfast (not great). Our price was based on the water being shut off. Summer price is higher.

Our problem was with the registration process. Normally, you find a spot, set up, and then check in, especially when the park is practically empty. The signs say to check in with the hotel with no other details. There is not a convenient place to park an RV in the hotel parking lot, so we went to the CG, found a spot and set up.

When we registered with the hotel, they assigned us a site number. We said, “Oh, well, we’re already set up in this other spot, so can we just stay there?” The answer was, “No.” They made us move. There were literally 80 sites, 5 of which were filled, and they made us move to different spot.

We were only there for the night, coming from Madison, WI on our way to Grand Rapids, MI, and we were tired and very not happy about the move. We got over it and decided to blow off some steam at the casino.

There’s a sign for a poker room, which leads to nowhere. There is no poker room. An attendant laughed and said, “the funny thing is that we still had it listed on our website last month.” It isn’t funny, it’s bad business; take the sign down. They do give you a sort of lotto ticket when signing up for a frequent player card where you can win free slot play. We had to call an attendant twice to figure out how to use the promo money, and we both have college degrees. The process is unnecessarily complicated.

Also, everything is way overpriced. I’m not joking when I say that they offer just a hot dog for $5.99, and the couple of beers we had were way off the mark too.

Actual date of stay October 2018. Well-maintained park with easy access, friendly staff and several fenced-in areas for dogs to be separated while playing (nice touch!). The sites are wide, and we had 3 bars Verizon LTE.

Close to Kingman and Route 66- The Hackberry General Store is a very cool stop.

On our way from central FL to New Orleans, we needed an overnight in between and this was perfect. Easy on/off access and no-hassle check in. There aren't any views of anything (no lake), this isn't a base for anywhere, and it's definitely not a resort. It's a field with a row of close RV spaces, but it's certainly safe and convenient for an overnight. 50amp FHUs and 4 bars LTE on Verizon.

Check in at the Marathon gas station. There are actually two gas stations located in the same area: one is mostly a Burger King with some convenient store fare, and the other is the Marathon.

No issues getting 35' 5th wheel in or out, noise level was low, space was level enough.
