This is our second visit to Dark Sky in Kanab. Our first was not long after they had opened, and it was wonderful then, it’s even better now. They have added some smaller, luxury sites designed for tents and small campers/vans. Each of those sites comes with a hammock, lounge chairs, gas fire pit, table and wooden shade structure with deck. They’re putting the finishing touches on a couple of new bath suites that are near these new sites. Oh, the bath suites!!! The best bath rooms I’ve ever seen, and we travel all over the US for months at a time. They have heated floors and their own independent AC/heat, and you have the option of showering outside. Yes, outside, under the stars, if you choose. I did choose, and it was heaven. They have a new ‘Market’ stocked with some of the items you may need during your visit, like eggs, milk, beer and wine, chips, etc. and gift items. Payment is on the honor system and you can pay via Venmo or cash. The laundry is the same way, cash or Venmo. So dang convenient! It’s just a lovely place with the friendliest folks, but it’s small so if you do find yourself planning a trip to Kanab, book early. Happy Camping!!

We loved our stay at Monte Bello. Our site was on the side facing a large open space with gorgeous views of the mountains. The sites are gravel and level, and well spaced out. There is a lot of lovely landscaping and flower beds separating you from your neighbor, which we appreciated. In the evenings the camp host would water the plants and take care of gardening. The park has a nice little store, and the bathrooms were very clean. There's even a hiking trail through the field about a mile and a half, which we took advantage of in the evenings. A new wifi setup was installed a couple of days before our arrival, and it seemed to work just fine. Only one thing I would change, and they have no control over this, but there is a bit of road noise from the nearby highway. It didn't bother us too much because we were on the side farthest from the road. We will definitely stay there again!

We just needed a place to stay for one night and Little Vineyard was perfect. We arrived late afternoon on a Sunday and had plenty of sites to choose from. The ladies at the front desk were friendly and helpful. I asked if there was a site with shade and we were guided to a great shaded site with no one nearby. All sites are level, gravel pull throughs. Our dog, Scout, enjoyed the dog park ( so many things to sniff!!). The pool and hot tub were clean and just the right temperature. Though the highway and train were nearby we were not bothered by noise. Would definitely stay again.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Santa Fe Skies. The check in process was very professional, the folks are friendly, and the bathrooms are great. It’s a beautiful quiet park with gorgeous sunsets and well placed to explore Santa Fe, Madrid and other sights. We also enjoyed the walking trail around the perimeter and the collection of antique engines and equipment. The sculptures in the park are a very nice and unusual touch. The WiFi was also good. This park is our new favorite in the area.

I very rarely give out 5 stars, Zane Grey RV Village deserves it. It really is more like a little village than just an RV park. There’s coffee and doughnuts on Saturday mornings, a food truck occasionally and byob happy hour with a live guitar player, I think his name was Dave. It’s a small park and very well laid out. The new dog park is great and they just installed some cool covered seating areas with solar flame lanterns and string lights for a great ambiance. The bath house is fabulous, and the folks working there are just wonderful. Everyone is smiling and pleasant. Will definitely be back. They have WiFi and, OH, there’s SHADE!!!

We loved Homolovi! We arrived very late due to three shredded tires within a 2 hour period earlier in the day (what are the odds!?!). I called and they said just to drive on in. Our site was easy to find and level. The campground is well laid out with plenty of space and stunning open views of the stark landscape. The bathrooms are nice and the placement of handicapped sites near the bathrooms with plenty of ramps was very thoughtful. Hiking around the ruins was very interesting, too. I40 is not far from the park, and though we could occasionally hear a truck in the distance it was never a distraction at our campsite. My only complaint was the deep ruts cut in the roads within the park, it shook every part of our motorhome to drive over them, even slowly.

Truly a gem of a little state park not far from the highway. Abundant wildlife; we spotted quail, many different grasshoppers and lizards and even one small snake. There are some hiking trails we enjoyed the evening we arrived and the next morning. The bathrooms and showers were new and clean. Would definitely stay there if we are back in the area!

I had high hopes for this park, sadly this is not a happy camper. After driving 6 hours we arrived after the visitors center had closed, proceeded to the spot we had reserved 6 weeks prior, only to find a fifth wheel set up in our site. I walked to the camp hosts camper to ask what to do and he said he wasn’t the camp host, although the sign by his site said so. I had called to confirm our reservation and site number earlier in the day. We took the site next to the one we had reserved, which also had a reserved sign on it , Now I’m imagining some poor tired traveler pulling up late at night to find someone on their spot, which will be me. No cell service here so I can’t call about it, even if I had a number to call. AND the site is terribly unlevel, all the blocks we own won’t make our C class remotely level. Really disappointed.

We had planned to drive straight through from Usery Mountain Regional Park in Mesa to Rockhound in Deming, but decided at the last minute to take a break and check out Catalina State Park. We loved this park! The showers were fabulous. After being on the road in our C Class for 6 weeks, it was really nice to take a long hot shower in a nice clean bath house. The sunset view of the mountains is stunning. There is a nice shop at the ranger station where you can find hats and t-shirts and stuff. We will definitely be back.
