Beautiful views from the campground. Lots of trees provide privacy even though sites are fairly small and close together. The drive up the canyon is also beautiful. Great location for any hiking you'll do in the area.

Close to Zion, this BLM campground is a great option in the area. No shade or toilets. Sites do have fire pits and are big enough for multiple vehicles. Although there are no trees, sites are widely separated providing some privacy. Beautiful views of all the surrounding mountains.

About 4 miles of highway on a good gravel road. 5 sites with picnic tables, BBQs, shade awnings and a few fire pits. Lots of room for larger rigs since this is an OHV trailhead. Pit toilets and trash cans too.

Only 3 sites available, but not what a view. You are located right on the edge of the canyon along the rainbow rim trail. Fire ring and plenty of privacy. North Timp and Locust point are good back ups. If you are willing to drive an hour on FS roads, it’s worth it!

This free campground with flushing toilets is worth the stop. This was a good half way-ish point between Mesa Verde and the Grand Canyon. Sunset was beautiful from the rocks at site #7.

Hidden gem among the endless prairie. A live excavation site like no other. Intact mammalian fossils all over the site. Fossils are left in place in the fossil barn. Knowledgeable and approachable staff. Well worth the visit.

Little privacy between spots. However, most have shade. They all have a level concrete pad, picnic table and grill. Bathrooms and free showers onsite. For $20 this fills the need for a place to spend the night.

5 stars for the scenery and 1 star for the mosquitoes! The wind can really pick up at night making for a wild night.

Sod house reconstruction onsite as well as information on the geology. A relatively short trail takes you up to see the toadstool rock formations.

Perfect stop right on/off highway. Startling “badlands” in the middle of sage scrublands. Can totally understand why Indigenous people chased animals off the cliffs.

Professional tour guides give free 90 minute tours at several times a day. Well worth it if you have the time and interest. The law library is spectacular.
