We stayed at Tin Valley Retro Rents in February of 2020. There are pros and cons.

First the cons.
1) You are a long way from town and from the entrance to Big Bend.

2) Things are dusty.

That's it. That is all of the cons.

Now the pros.

1)Stunning views! You are in a valley so you will watch the sun come up over the mountains and you will watch it set over the mountains and both events are spectacular.

2) Night sky! I've never seen the night sky like that, I've never been this far from light pollution and I was just awed.

3)There is no cell service. You will have to go to the Willy Nelson bus for wifi. I put this as a pro because this is a place that sets you free. But by going to the Willy Nelson bus every day we were able to use wifi calling to check in with family members so it was fine.

4) The owners are wonderful, generous, fun people! They go the distance to provide top-notch hospitality. Whatever you need, just ask, and if they can help you they will. You feel like you are staying on the property of friends while you are there.

5) Random wildlife! You will likely see deer and lots of rabbits! We did see one road runner as well.

6)Sampson the burro will sing at random times and the sound will bring a smile every time!

7) 30 amp and 50 amp hookups because you depending on the time of year you go, you will probably want AC in the daytime or heat at night, or even possibly both!

8)Water delivered to your site! Instead of water hookups at each site, water is delivered daily. No need to have an empty water tank.

9) Easy to access dump station right by the Willy Nelson bus!

10)Peace and quiet, this is a place that feeds your soul.

We had a great time in Tombstone and it was great to have our rig parked close to town. We could walk back and forth which was great since we travel with a dog.

Everything about Fun N Sun is top notch! The pool and hot tub, the activities, the dog park, the laundry facilities, sewing room, remote control track, the shuffle board courts, and on and on. There are activities going on daily that you can pick and choose from. There is a nice mix of nomads and seasonals and annuals and everyone is so friendly and welcoming. The staff is some of the best we have ever experienced in any campground. We are already planning to return next year.

We stayed here in February of 2021.

We needed a convenient place to stay for a week near Yuma and this campground was perfect. We did not expect the facilities to be as nice as they were. Very nice laundry facilities and common areas, including two off leash dog areas. One of the dog areas even had a large patch of carefully tended grass! My Tennessee dog was having trouble adjusting to the AZ environment so she especially appreciated the grassy park! The staff was wonderful and we got to enjoy a camp cookout one night while there. The sunsets are spectacular!

This was a convenient stop for us. The park is fine, we did not use any of the facilities.

We stayed at Lake Whitney in March of 2019. We paid nothing because we are Thousand Trails members. We found the check-in process clear and easy, the staff member that checked us in was very friendly and informative. We unhooked our car to drive around and chose our campsite. A number of sites were unavailable because they are being upgraded. But we had no problem finding a great site.

Because it was spring break for Texas parks, there were a lot of families camping. There were also a lot of activities to choose from. The staff did a great job offering a wide variety of fun things for all ages.

The facilities are older, but in really good shape. The laundry room was very clean and all the machines were in working order. In the same building there is a really nice game room, a small workout room and outdoor seating areas. The top floor of the building is the lodge. It used to be an adult only area, and my one complaint would be that it is now open to kids. But I'm sure when the park is less populated it is not so rowdy in there.

The pools were not yet open, but we looked at them and they are beautiful and clean. There is a very nice playground and putt-putt golf course as well as a giant checkers board and connect four game.

We were very pleased with this campground and hope to return for another visit!

We stayed one night in the parking lot of Pyramid Bass Pro Shop in Memphis Tennessee. The parking lot is level and there is plenty of room for rigs. There was highway noise from the overpass that is directly above the parking lot, but it was not terrible and we expected there to be some noise.

We had a great time exploring inside the building! It is dog friendly and there is so much to see. We spent a couple of hours looking around and doing a little shopping with our dog, and then we put her back in the rv and went back in to have dinner at Uncle Buck's Fishbowl and Grill. The prices were not bad and the food was excellent.

There is a security truck that circles the parking lot all night long and we never felt unsafe.

If you are passing through Memphis this is a GREAT place to stop!

This campground is about 30 minutes from our home. We decided to just go up there for an overnight stay for a little getaway. We were looking for something close by and with full hookups and easy to get in and out of it. This campground fulfilled all of that. The campsites are nothing special, just concrete and gravel with no trees. This is not the sort of place you settle into for a week or two to enjoy nature. But the groundskeeping is immaculate and what is lacking in actual campsite ambience is available in the community areas of the park. You can carry your cup of coffee to one of two pavillions overlooking a lovely little pond and enjoy the antics of the resident geese. You can cool off in the clean, clear swimming pool. You can walk all the way around the lake as the grass is well mowed. Throughout the park you'll find pots of flowers and other landscaping features. The proximity of the park to the I-40 makes it a great place to stop for a night or two on your travels, but call ahead for reservations because they stay pretty well booked up. You'll find most of the sites easy to pull in and out of and even keep your towed vehicle hooked up if you wish. We camped at Parkers Crossroads RV Park and Campground in a Motorhome.
