This park has limited camp sites as most of their sites are seasonal campers. We were visiting family and we knew of this campground from many many years ago. Everyone - camp host, guests and seasonal campers were all very friendly and eager to visit with us. Campground hosts a lot of youth groups. Very quiet and easy to relax in the campground. We look forward to visiting this campground again.

It was a constant battle fighting the ants. Had to do major treatment in the camper when we got home. The paper mill noise would depend on the wind direction. When it was noisy, it sounds like large jets constantly taking off. The lady in the check in station was very nice but there was no other interaction with volunteers. I would consider another campground over this one mainly because of all the ants. Our rate is with the lifetime senior pass.

We arrived shortly after the check in closed but we were returning guests from previous years. This also was an overnight route stop and picked this park because of past experience here at the park. After the thunderstorm passed - the camp hosts came by to check in with us to see if we needed anything and to welcome us to the park. Hosts were very friendly and a pleasure to talk with. This is one park on our list to return to and spend more time in the park. This park also did not have Verizon cell service but we knew that when we booked our reservation.

This is a small quiet campground. The frogs serenade you to sleep at night. The staff only speaks when they are spoken to first. There were a lot of gnats but that is common at this time of year. I wish that Georgia's online reservation system would give the senior discount online but you must request the discount when you check in. The mounds and Native American history was very interesting. We did not walk the trails on this trip because of the heat but plan to walk the trails on our next reservation in November. We enjoyed watching the water and wildlife. The camp sites all look level. If you want water views or camping lakefront, choose sites 1 - 13. Campsites 14 - 24 are nice wooded sites. All the sites were nicely shaded.

There was something about the park that kind of turned me off. I believe that it was possibly a weird layout. Site 15 was a nice waterfront site but it was strange how you got into the site. The staff was great. There are a couple other state parks in the area of this park which I would choose to go back to before this one. There wasn't much for walking trails. There was only a 1 hour time frame when you could register with the staff.

We have camped here for many years. Park is beautiful and staff goes out of their way to assist guests. For some reason which we can not figure out, we had no Verizon cell service. Our early August trip this year is the first time we encountered no cell service - in the past we had no issues with cell service.

This is a small campground out in the middle of no where. Closest town is Bristol which is 14 miles away. Bristol has groceries and gas there. We like parks that are not close to cities so this park was perfect for us and we do plan to visit again. There is not much to do in the park except relax. Trails are too strenuious for seniors and as another posted - watch out for the copperhead snakes. The staff was very friendly and informative. The park is still in recovery from Hurricane Michael in 2018 - this park was beat up bad. Most of the sites were level with only a few having a hump in the center of the site. The sites with the humps were a little tight on the sides and depth. This park had the best cell service compared to the other near by state parks. Price is senior rate.

This is a great park. I would definitely camp here again. Staff was all very friendly and helpful. The other campers were friendly and would chat with their fellow campers. So that you can came prepared, there is little to no shade and it gets hot in full sun. This campground lost most of the tree cover from Hurricane Michael in 2018. Their trees are starting to come back but it is a slow process. It looked like they were preparing to fix the roads inside the park. We passed on the Cavern tour on this trip since we had toured the cavern in the past - it is added to our bucket list to tour on our next visit there. It was very quiet. One thing I can say is that the park trail maps could use some improvement. We had full hook ups that was upgraded after Hurricane Michael. Some sites are tight to back into and you just need to pay attention to the site length when you book. Not a lot of space between each site but still not too close. As I said above - great park and look forward to booking another trip there. On our Verizon cell service - we had 4G in the camper and up by the museum and gift shop we had 5G. Our nightly rate is the Florida senior citizen rate.

Site 11 is a large site and level. It looked like all of the sites were level but some were on the small side. Park is well kept. We would have liked to explore the trails more than we did however the weather prevented us from doing so. The park has beautiful white sandy beached on the Blackwater River. Enjoyed our visit very much and look forward to returning. There is an airport nearby that does helicopter training so we had helicopters flying over the park during the day except on the day that was raining. Very quiet at night. There were a lot of deer and birds. We had weak Verizon cell service.

The park history was very interesting - especially the Doolittle history since my husband is a Doolittle fan. Trails were well kept and nice. Our dog liked walking the trails and would get excited to go for a walk down the trails. Staff was very friendly and eager to share their knowledge. Site 28 has a nice view of the Bayou. When campers checked out, the staff would clean the campsite of leaves and rake the gravel back level. I have already looked at the reservation website to make another reservation and found that this park is booked full for close to a year.
