We have camped here for many years. Park is beautiful and staff goes out of their way to assist guests. For some reason which we can not figure out, we had no Verizon cell service. Our early August trip this year is the first time we encountered no cell service - in the past we had no issues with cell service.

All of their campsites looked tight. Our trailer is a 16 ft and with our truck attached, we stuck out into the drive 3 ft (did not want to disconnect since it was just an overnight stop). We arrived late and left early, so we did not get to see much of the campground. This campground also had no Verizon cell service (actually, none of the state parks that we stayed in had cell service on this trip). There were a lot of children in the park; however, they were all polite and got quiet at quiet time.

This is a small park and sites are tight. Trail from campground to the falls was nice just watch out for the occasional root sticking up out of the ground. The falls were flowing full flow. Campers were all very friendly and we made several new friends at this campground. Cell service is not stable - our phones showed 3 bars LTE on Verizon but had trouble opening up apps and checking emails - very slow and when we opened up the email, the signal dropped to 1 bar. This park had the most birds of other parks. Some birds were birds that we rarely see in Florida. Got to see lots of deer and raccoons. Our main camping trips are close to our home and are meant to unwind and just get away from our house breaks. I think just about every camper had a dog or 2 - this was the most dogs we have seen camping. It was very quiet and we enjoyed our recharge trip. Our site was a dirt pad with a few stones however it was fairly level.

This is a great park. I would definitely camp here again. Staff was all very friendly and helpful. The other campers were friendly and would chat with their fellow campers. So that you can came prepared, there is little to no shade and it gets hot in full sun. This campground lost most of the tree cover from Hurricane Michael in 2018. Their trees are starting to come back but it is a slow process. It looked like they were preparing to fix the roads inside the park. We passed on the Cavern tour on this trip since we had toured the cavern in the past - it is added to our bucket list to tour on our next visit there. It was very quiet. One thing I can say is that the park trail maps could use some improvement. We had full hook ups that was upgraded after Hurricane Michael. Some sites are tight to back into and you just need to pay attention to the site length when you book. Not a lot of space between each site but still not too close. As I said above - great park and look forward to booking another trip there. On our Verizon cell service - we had 4G in the camper and up by the museum and gift shop we had 5G. Our nightly rate is the Florida senior citizen rate.

We arrived shortly after the check in closed but we were returning guests from previous years. This also was an overnight route stop and picked this park because of past experience here at the park. After the thunderstorm passed - the camp hosts came by to check in with us to see if we needed anything and to welcome us to the park. Hosts were very friendly and a pleasure to talk with. This is one park on our list to return to and spend more time in the park. This park also did not have Verizon cell service but we knew that when we booked our reservation.

The park history was very interesting - especially the Doolittle history since my husband is a Doolittle fan. Trails were well kept and nice. Our dog liked walking the trails and would get excited to go for a walk down the trails. Staff was very friendly and eager to share their knowledge. Site 28 has a nice view of the Bayou. When campers checked out, the staff would clean the campsite of leaves and rake the gravel back level. I have already looked at the reservation website to make another reservation and found that this park is booked full for close to a year.

Our rate was with the America the Beautiful lifetime senior pass. We enjoyed watching the geese with their babies swimming along the shore. Quiet location and nice spacing between sites. We only stayed 1 night but plan to make a return visit with a longer stay.

The park was quiet and peaceful. Due to the Florida heat there were a lot of empty sites. Sites seem to be nice size with some being close together and looked fairly level. There was a lot of chlorine in the water - we were told that it was at the max level due to a brown water alert from the previous week. There was so much chlorine that it passed through our filter. The park has some very interesting history. Due to the heat, we did not walk 2 of the trails but the ones we did walk were very nice. There is an abundent population of ticks in the park - non stop picking off ticks. We also had a lot of the small sugar ants coming into our camper. The park staff were not friendly however the volunteers and volunteer campground host were very friendly and helpful. If we want another close to home getaway, we would come back. Cell service was basically non existant - could not open any of our phone apps even though our phone showed 2 bars on 5G. We are not happy with the cell service since there were severe storms in the area and we could not access our weather apps. We did not use the shower house since we had full hook up. Our nightly rate was with Florida senior citizen discount.

We were camping here with a group of other campers that did cargo trailer conversion campers. Very nice park. We enjoyed watching all the barges go by in the waterway. Enjoyed meeting new friends in the group. Park was quiet. Our nightly rate was the senior lifetime pass discount.

No one in the gate house. We called prior to arriving and were told to just go in and park in our site. Directions on the park website were very confusing. Pulled into our site and saw no staff or host. Before going to sleep, we noticed a park pass on the picnic table - have no idea when or who placed it there. I personally did not feel safe in this campground. The park was quiet.
