Confirmed by 1 users | Last reported on October 29, 2023Stayed here just for 2 nights near the end of October on my way south. Nice campground and not at all full during this time of year. Good access to Cincinnati if needed. I think there is also a pool here but wasn't open during my visit. Don't know how it would be if in the middle of summer camping season with the campground full. A limited number of okay camping trails from Campground. It was good for our limited stay.

This is a neat place, they have a small history and archeological museum on-site and a neat outdoor prehistoric exhibit as well as a live buffalo herd which is pretty cool to see. The area is known for it's bison, mastodon & mammoth bones and fossils and the museum and exhibits are pretty cool and informative. There are nice trails, a museum store and the campground is really nice with spacious sites. We stayed here for a R-Pod rally, although we don't have an R-Pod we were invited by friends who do. The campgrounds accessibility isn't bad, the campground was well run and the restrooms clean. We will definitely be back here and I recommend this place to anyone passing through or looking for a little bit different camping experience. The noise level was low and relaxing.

Looks like this is a really nice park. Pool, mini golf, bison and museum. Maintenance staff was up bright and early mowing and trimming.
It's too bad that almost every site is way unlevel. Not just front to back but also side to side. Even with three blocks under the drivers side, we were still not level. After a quick bike ride around the entire park, we discovered that almost every campsite was way out of level in multiple directions. The center loop area seemed to be the exception with smaller flatter sites.

We stayed here for a weekend in September. The sites at the front of the park seemed a bit close for our liking but back loop was more spacious. We hiked from camping area down to the museum and back (couple of miles total). They had some great activities and crafts for the kids. Pool was open after Labor Day which was an unexpected surprise. Kids also enjoyed seeing the bison.

We camped in a 40 ft motor home. Sites generally have some slope to them but manageable. The asphalt pad is narrow and short. Very quiet. The park had a pool which we enjoyed. There was also a miniature golf course as well. The only reason I would not camp there again is because we are full timers and we have been there and done that.

Excellent weekend trip! We are a young family, three kids ages 1-7. The campground is very clean, well maintained and the staff friendly. The camp store is well stocked and surprisingly reasonably priced. There is no 50 amp sites, so if you have a large rig keep that in mind. The sites are all paved with a gravel area adjacent to the paved section too. Water is NOT close, as other reviews have stated, be sure to have 75’ at least of hose. Water pressure was about 45 psi. Electric was stable and hovered right at 117-122 volts all weekend. The other common theme in reviews is unlevel pads, this IS true. Some sites better than others, but most all of them will requiring putting one side of your camper in leveling blocks. We needed 3 2x6’s on one side of ours. The front of the camper was probably 42” off the ground and the rear less than 12. Also be aware there is a dirt race track nearby and when they are racing you can easily hear the roaring engines of the cars. When not racing it’s very quiet and peaceful.
The trails and bison area were a highlight for the kids, an interpreter was there to provide information and some hands on artifacts for the kids to touch. We also enjoyed the museum, it’s free and only takes a few minutes to see. There is a nice well maintained playground and swimming pool. The pool, while clean is very basic and dated. Laundry facilities and a clean bathhouse on site. Miniature golf course also available for a small fee. We would certainly go back for a weekend, but will pick a different site. Something in circle 2 or 3.

Did you say we could see bison in KY? Heck yeah! Nice grazing field to see the mighty bison. Plenty of hiking around the park, around the lake through the trees and up the hills. Oh! the campgrounds are great as well. Large clean sites. Site 29 was pretty level (no issues really, 2" up on passenger side and lower the front). The site had electric, water (fairly long run) and a dump station near the front of park. I understand it can get busy on the weekends, but during the week it was quiet and beautiful!

They have bison for you to see . Putt putt golf and hiking trails . Nice swimming pool. Some of the site are kinda small but are nice . Some of the sites have a good slope to them. Bring a extra water hose. Very kid friendly!!! We stayed here with our 30 ft travel trailer . The road going to the camp ground has a steep hill. When we stayed her on 6-23 the lake was closed due to some damn problems . They give vets a discount here. And you can watch the planes fly overhead.

We are on a family trip staying here with my brother. Cool historical experience from the early settlers to ice ages and salt licks. A good system of trails that run up and down the hills. We were geocaching alot.
Left early because of the erratic electric at our site. Mentioned this to the maintenance guy yesterday while he was working on the breaker next door and his reply was "I didn't get a ticket on that". We spent the evening visiting family and when we got back we had to reset the breaker again, but by then it was 90 in the camper. we were done at that point.
All in all it is a clean park with a lot of cool history. We live in colorado but I dont think we would go back.
