Spectacular!!!!! About a mile hike to this location so make sure you bring your water if going in the summer. Worth it. A little unnerving to be so close to the edge without any barrier, and with older kids my heart never stopped pounding.
This place was absolutely stunning. Well worth every penny. Our tour guide was very informative and even got my youngest son involved in a prank against his fellow tour guide. Yes it is busy but I never felt rushed. There are 4 companies that offer tours. We used Chief Tsosies, but if you want the sweet times make sure you book early (a week in advance) as they fill up quickly.
This is actually the Colorado River and it is located at Lees Ferry. The water is FREEZING (62 degrees F) but it was beautiful. It was not as blue as this picture, but still pretty.
"Take it Easy" on the corner in Winslow, AZ. I just had to stop since it was on our way! Great little gift shop on the corner and the painted Route 66 sign on the ground. If your passing through its worth stopping.
This place was stunning! Definitely take the hike down into the Blue Mesa. It is a steep hike down which means it's a little strenuous coming back up but worth it. You won't be disappointed.
Great photo opportunities. We enjoyed driving through, but definitely keep your windows up. Our only complaint was that they did not accept credit cards and we sat in a line for 20 minutes, and when we got about 2 cars from the pay window they had a small sign that said "Cash Only." We had to turn around and drive into the little town to use the ATM, and then wait again in a 15 minute line to finally get in.
The view from this RV park is BREATHTAKING! Small quaint little RV park and the owners were very friendly. I did enjoy having private bathrooms to shower in instead of stalls but they are tiny. The husband was very knowledgeable about travel trailers, and helped us tremendously when our electric brakes locked up as we were leaving.
My kids LOVED this place. Definitely a neat little stop along our road trip. Great place to get out and stretch your legs while getting a little creative. Don't forget to bring your spray paint though.
Got in pretty late. Easy check-in, but the electrical outlet was not accessible so we had to sleep with out a/c, as there was no one to contact at such a late hour. The owner/manager did come to our site the next morning to find out why we could not access our electrical outlet. We only stayed here as a resting area, and left the next morning. Bathrooms were clean and the campsite was well maintained. The ladies at checkout were super friendly and offered us doughnuts for the road.
