We selected #39, it was a double site because of the size of our travel trailer. The space around all of the sites are large and comfortable. The challenge comes in with the trees and large rocks close to the road that makes backing your RV in a sporting event! Site #39 is a double site @ $35.00 and the average site is $17.00 per night. There is no Senior Pass discount on the double sites.....bummer! We would certainly camp here again.

Well cared for park would be perfect for a longer stay too! We were just passing through on our way to Florida but what a great park. Right on the Calcasieu River with boat ramp and kayak access. Pull through should accommodate almost any size RV.

If you like biking, kayaking, and hiking Jonathan Dickinson SP should be on your list. Located off HWY 1, you can go south to Jupiter/West Palm Beach and to the north Hobe Sound/Stuart area. Our site, #20 was gravel and had been raked out prior to our arrival.

Big Creek Campground is a 20 minute drive from Apgar Visitor Center and the last 3 miles are on a dirt/gravel road which can be messy after a rain. We were using solar for the majority of the time and needed to use our generator the last day to bring the batteries back up. Site 15 would be the one to choose if you have solar; wide open space with plenty of clear sky. Flat River had a great flow rate, so we had plenty of burbling water sounds for a relaxing afternoon by the water.
Big Creek Campground costs $16 per night, we have the senior pass that brought the price down to $11 per night, this includes their registration fees.
