10 stars!!! You will never see this much color in the wild. The painted desert has a diverse color pallet. The petrified forest is a freak of nature experience. You can see trees that have turned into stone that are stuck in time. The color of the trees range from green, to yellow, to blue, to red. There is wildlife, mountains, canyons, and much more. Don't forget to check out newspaper rock to see the writings inscribed on the rocks. Super cool for the kids!! Check out our blog for more info :https://www.facebook.com/escapervist

I give it 10 stars!!! Seriously, you have to visit this place. Saying the views are breathtaking does this no justice. The entrance has an old church and cabin, which was used in the filming of City Slickers. There have been over 40 movies filmed here including one of my personal favorites (3:10 to Yuma). The color, the texture, the views are unbelievable. You can see the mountains front and center, mountains in the background, rivers, lakes, etc. Take a short climb up to Chimney Rock and you will be speechless. Beautiful view on the way up, at the top, and on the way down. You can see a plane wreck (which was from the 50's) which is super cool that its still there. You can make as much of the trip as you want. You can hike, explore, or just take in the beauty of the view. Check out our blog for more info :https://www.facebook.com/escapervist

Best thing to do in and around Roswell, NM. We loved it. The park is clean. Its $5 to get in. There is plenty of trails and wildlife. The main Lea Lake is beautiful. Its blue, its cold, but you will fall in love.

A must do. If you are within 3 hours of this place its worth the drive. Its huge, there are so many colors and terrains to see. Spend the whole day for a really cheap price (only $8 per adult, kids free). Give yourself 6 hours to see everything including the hike to lighthouse point (must see!). A fun experience if you are traveling through. Go tag a few cars and get it out of your system ;) Seriously, there are 10 old Cadillacs. They are buried in the ground. You can bring your own paint or you can buy some from the vendor on ground. People are disrespectful and have littered all over the place. I don’t know why people rave about this place. Unless it’s not what it used to be. There were a couple of VWs buried. Nothing else. A few falling in buildings. The graffiti was even faded and crumbling with the buildings. I would waste my time. What we saw from the highway was the same as what we saw stopping.

Leaving a review of the intersection here. There is an old pedestrian underpass which allowed kids to safely travel under route 66 on their way to school. If on this drive, its a must see! Learn more about our trip here: https://www.facebook.com/escapervist/posts/175431017757170

Park is safe. It’s gated. Getting in is impossible. No room for your rig to open the gate. Outside the 4 walls is not safe. Bad part of town. Not even the closest Walmart felt safe. No bath house or restrooms. You and your rig are what you have here. They have crammed you in. No room to park!
